Teaching online today means live cohorts, communities, and proprietary platforms.

Some folks claim it's all about live cohorts and communities. I don't think it is though. There's a lot of educational YouTube videos, podcasts, and email newsletters. I personally don't want to do live cohorts or run a community, but can knock up a video or newsletter every now and then.

Lamo my twitter account got hacked.

Tbf I dont use it but now I am happy that I have 2fa on my google account.

Lets see if twitter support can deal with this. Mind you I literally didnt touch the account. Seems like there has been a data leak or smth.

All the "kids" I know need constant stimulation. Mention sitting in quiet and meditating, or something not involving a screen and they act like you just recommended devil worship. Scanning, scrolling, swiping -- it is killing the youth of the world, and no, it is not a generational thing-- people born pre-2000's weren't given an attention stealing, addictive device on par with heroine. That's the difference. And anyone who says otherwise suffers from denial and likely, suffers from the same addictions.

Ha I am different.

I dont use any social media. My brother on the other hands averages about 6 hours a day on tiktok. He cant even have a conversation anymore. I talk to him and then he starts scrolling because he needs more dopamine.

I like to think of infrastructure as being people, processes, and technology ... in that order. I often tell folks it's about getting the right people in the team first because they create the processes and technology. I'm lucky to have a great developer in my team who improves and automates processes as he goes.

Forget about creating courses to put on platforms (Udemy etc) in 2023.

Teaching online today means live cohorts, communities, and proprietary platforms.

This also enables you to sell for more expensive or to transform your course into a service.

Marketing is also easier as it makes more sense to do google ads for a website than for a Udemy course.

I did a couple live cohort based courses on www.Maven.com

It’s cool because it solved the problem of buying a course and not doing it

Most courses only have like 2% completion rates

I’m definitely someone who buys courses and never does them but I attended every lesson of the ones I bought

Higher perceived value too, and real scarcity

It’s a cool business too, basically just zoom, a landing page, and email marketing

I use screenrec now. I actually like the no pauze option, keeps me focused. Had the same problem with Loom as I made video’s for candidate's.

I just turned on my second shot at google ads, this time with local service ads. I dont fear loosing money, I fear getting 5 calls tomorrow and then having to deal with fulfillment.
Oh the joys of a cents-less business...

Have y'all seen those small town -Opoly games? (based on Monopoly)

Definitely an example of a FASTLANE business.

I often think about how incredible it must be for the small, local restaurants and businesses to be included in that game. It's a timeless marketing tool that will pay off as long as people play the game.

Also how frustrating it must be if you don't end up included in the game for your town. Not a big deal, but probably annoying when the coffee shop down the street is on there and yours is not.

But the board game company is the true fastlane biz in the equation.

I wanna do this for my cities cannabis industry as there are over 1k canna companies in the county alone and lots to work with. It's not hard to do a knock off, services do it, just need to put together with creativity and sell spots to local players.

Hi.
After finishing all three of MJ's books, I have a disturbing thought:
Believe it or not, I think two companies with the same market share don't have the same value depending on the country.
Here is an example: The online advertising market is estimated at 450 billion dollars in the world . America has 200 billion, and France 8 billion.
My thought is that a company that occupies 1% of this market in America is worth 2 billion on resale, while a company that occupies 1% in France is only worth 80 million.

To sum up, do you think that a company in America has a greater possible economic development than a company in France? Thank you for paying attention to my unsettled thoughts!
