As far as I know, iRobot have done the Roomba for years and improved it gradually. It might be worth trying, but I admit that I don't know of anyone that has one.

They are at irobot.com
For international websites try global.irobot.com to be redirected to your nearest country site.
I have one. It can do one room at a time if you close it off and run it twice. I wouldn’t replace it if it died.

We have two of the cordless Dyson stick vacuums and they do an awesome job and are almost as easy as running the robot, and obviously do a better job.

Saw a countach yesterday leaving my family’s industrial biz. Old guy driving it. So freaking cool. You never see cars like that down there, especially on such bumpy industrial roads.

We have a Roborock that is pretty darn good. I hope it last longer than 6 months.

Was the dude lost and upset from taking his prized car “off road”? That would be a funny sight to see lol. “We use oversized pickup trucks here sir, what is this little thing you got?”

It was a kit car with a Pontiac Fierro underneath if it was down there. He was probably stopping to add coolant.

I've seen a number of therapists over the years and just one licensed psychologist. The only one I'm still seeing is the psychologist. Maybe I just got one awesome psychologist, but the difference between his services and those of every not psychologist is night and day. It's the difference between someone who knows how to not accidentally talk you into killing yourself when you feel like killing yourself...and someone who doesn't.
Ya self reliance is key when finding a therapist which I’ve learned having moved a few times and had to find new ones
I’ve found a good therapist has these 3 traits:
1. Measures your results often and communicates their awareness about your results or lack of results and what they’re going to do about it (psychologists are more trained in this or a social worker should be willing to come up with something)
2. you have in common at least one trait, struggle or life experience which they share openly and you can tell they are actually self aware
3. they’ve achieved something you want to achieve and haven’t yet

Amy Winehouse’s story is a fascinating one about her having a bad therapist and writing her Rehab song. Grant Cardone talks about his bad therapist experiences too

Thank you for your concern, @MJ DeMarco. I appreciate it a lot. I didn't want to make some kind of a big post but will respond to this as it's really nice on your part to be so attentive to individual forum members.

As @MitchC has summarized, I decided to step away from the online world a little more than is comfortable for me.

I've unsubscribed from almost all stuff (newsletters, YouTube channels, social media, news) and decided to shut down projects that were taking too much of my time and/or energy. I've also decided to limit to a minimum my time spent on forums unless it's strictly business (as I'm still running an online business).

I found myself spending most of my time consuming or producing (unpaid) content and I couldn't control it well. My default was to go into an endless loop going between a few sites, including this forum.

When I looked back over the last few months, it was all the same every day, staring at a screen most of the day. Nothing memorable and a lot of wasted time that I could have used to go on a walk, learn another skill, or hang out with someone.

I needed to break this habit and prove to myself that I can and will use the Internet mostly for business and education but not so much for entertainment and/or non-productive activities masquerading as productive ones (a lot of my content consumption and production online is like that).

Ever since I made this change I have way more time and spend it in a more rewarding way, even if it's just reading a book first thing in the morning instead of drowning myself in the online world. It's given me a lot of peace of mind so far and has allowed me to reconnect with some Michael A. Singer's stuff you and I both believe in (by the way, I strongly, strongly recommend his new book Living Untethered). And that's been my goal.

Also, as @Fox has mentioned, I arrived in Western Australia yesterday and will travel over the next few months in Australia, New Zealand and wherever else we feel like going so I want to focus on that over spending time online. I get most enjoyment and peace of mind outside, preferably in nature, and I want my everyday life to reflect that.

I'll still pop in from time to time but I'll reduce my participation to a minimum and only when I have something really valuable to say, not just my random opinion based on experiencing 0.00000000001% of the world.
Welcome to Western Australia MTF.
Any assistance you would like I'm available to assist here in South Perth.

Huh this seems like quite a big change! If I remember correctly you were quite against Michael Singer’s teachings when you first started Discomfort Club. Would be interesting if at one point you share how this change happened!

Good luck with the move to Australia!

I've been working for the past 3 or 4 months on a new business as an agent for a niche of holiday providers. Got two initial booking requests this morning & now just need to seal the deal on Monday over the phone. Been a long time since I had this nervous feeling about something business related - I love it

I haven’t read any of his books. Are they in stark contrast to discomfort?

If I recall correctly, this author is popular here on the forum, including with @MTF

Rant:

Canadian government banned foreign buying of real estate for 2 years. Direct or indirect ownership of 3% or more is prohibited.

This is something I can respect the Canadian government for, unlike Traitors who not only do not put in place policies to prevent locals from getting priced out of the market, but also encourages it. Real estate, especially public housing, shouldn't be used as a means of speculation for the social problems it causes.

Michael Singer is quite popular here in a similar way that Eckhart Tolle is, and a bit more since he’s also an entrepreneur who started about 3 companies, all of which were quite successful, from the middle of no-where while living a spiritual life.

If memory serves me right, @MTF was quite enchanted with Michael Singer’s books at first, but then he didn’t like them anymore by the time he started Discomfort Club. I google “Discomfortclub michael singer” and here’s what came up from MTF posted to reddit:

Reading MFT's recent post in this thread, he reconnected with some of the Michael Singer stuff. His study of Singers work was very intense (150 pages of notes). Diving into the discomfort stuff, maybe it was a needed break for him. Now it looks like he reconnected with the stuff he could use from Singer, combined with the useful learnings from being discomfort, and mixed it all together for a version, that fits him personally.

I just recently dived into the Singer stuff after wathcing this podcast interview with him. Looking forward to reading the books.

Observation: Not sure if it's just me, but a lot of the actresses from the golden age of Hollywood (e.g. the 50s - 60s stars) look way better than the modern ones (90s and after).

After quiet quitting and quiet firing, now there's rage-applying. It's time to try this. The last time I got a measly pay raise and bonus was back in Dec 2021....the life of an office drone begging for his next paycheck.....

You've been here for nearly 6 years and it seems nothing has changed for you other than a lot of job market gripes.

Why hasn't it changed?

Will it ever? What are you waiting for, other than the latest "office drone" click-bait trendy movement?

I liked "The Power of Now" book. Didn't see it in conflict with "discomfort" or Goggins' style either. Although these kinds of books aren't the easiest to read, they can have a profound impact. Michael Singer seems in conflict with my character if he's recused himself to a "monk" life. Will pass on this for now... unless I am wrong and someone cares to elaborate.

Singer's books have elevated my level of happiness by several orders of magnitude. It also helped that he's been an entrepreneur and a leader for 40+ years, and also fought the FBl and won. Will his work help you? Hard to say. People who generally won't stop and smell the roses, and have "more more more" as a life philosophy won't get value from his message.

Take a lesson from the US government on how NOT to run a company:

When 50% of your customers are unhappy with what you are doing or don't trust you, instead of telling them they are wrong or stupid, you should say "we hear you" or "let us address your concerns."

Thanks for sharing. You probably know me well by now, I don’t do so well with idle time.

I enjoy big goals and working at them. Re: "stop to smell the roses", I'd like to think I do it, but maybe I just think I do and I don't. My days can get crazy busy but more often than not I am quite in control of my time. I spend more time with my family than most people I know, I take good care of my fitness and self-education/growth.

One thing is true, I am never really satisfied. From that angle I guess I am the "more more more" life philosophy. :)

Is there really a shortage on eggs in the US?

I thought all the supply chain stuff had worked itself out by now.

How bad are things these days?
There are some weird shortages at my local grocery store (Publix. IYKYK, southeast US friends.)

Deli turkey. Half and half, but not other types of milk. Eggs, yes.

Children's tylenol.

Someone out there is doing a really bad job.

Saying it is nice, but saying it and then actually doing something is better. Doing something that works is best, but so far I haven't seen much evidence that any government can manage that.

I spend more time with my family than most people I know, I take good care of my fitness and self-education/growth.

One thing is true, I am never really satisfied. From that angle I guess I am the "more more more" life philosophy. :)
Haha, if you ask me, I don’t think you’d resonate so much with the Eastern approach to things. And I know where you’re coming from…

A lot of people can look to spirituality as a way to avoid facing their reality.

So they sit and meditate while their kids are starving, instead of working to form a plan and make the cash register ring!

At the same time, there is something to say about balance and finding satisfaction. If you always chase after the next thing and the next thing it’s hard to truly enjoy where you’re at.

There are some weird shortages at my local grocery store (Publix. IYKYK, southeast US friends.)

Deli turkey. Half and half, but not other types of milk. Eggs, yes.

Children's tylenol.

Someone out there is doing a really bad job.

Children's Tylenol has been out for a few weeks now. There are local FB groups where I live where people post photos of when they see some in stock. My sister saw 80+ bottles last Friday at 4pm at a Target near me. I went at 530 and they had 8 bottles left! Much like the baby formula shortage earlier in the year, items for children that are unavailable for me personally hits different than other items. Definitely a need there.
