Hey everyone! I wanted to take a few paragraphs and a bit of time to introduce myself and my story to all of y'all!

My name Is Kyle, I am currently a 20 year old male living in New York but looking for a different place to grow, develop and thrive because all though I was born in raised in the Northeast my heart will always be down south! I started my Fastlane journey at the start of 2022, looking for a way to increase my knowledge & financial literacy to be able to better understand and learn more about what is needed to be done to in order for me to afford and be able to live the life I've always dreamed of living!

I started off my journey by reading the book "Richest man in Babylon" by George S. Clason; learning that sometimes success is not found within the latest investments or financial fads but it is found in the solid foundation that has been set in stone for hundreds of years (If it isn't broke don't fix it). The novel taught the lesson that its not how to get rich fast that is the lesson but rather how to build wealth that lasts! The short stories within the book were able to tell tales of the old ways of building wealth that lasts instead of building wealth that disappears just as quickly as it had came.

The second book of my journey was "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki; His book followed through his childhood and adulthood from the different point of view from his dad with a college degree with a "slowlane" job as well as another dad who did not have a degree and who started businesses and had people with degrees work for him! It showed the different perspectives and solutions when looking at the same problem. There many different ways to solve the same problem, sometimes you just need to look at things from a different point of view! While reading the book I was able to grow my financial intelligence more than I ever was able to do within a classroom. Once you master a formula then learn a new one...never stop learning, a main viewpoint that has stuck out from reading his book was that the wealthy do not work for money but they make the money work for them!

The third but definitely not the final book that I had the pleasure to read and take away from was "The Millionaire Fastlane " by MJ DeMarco; Seeing the different lanes that people are able to travel has forever changed my perspective on how I view decision making, everyone is born with the same 24 hours within the day and people are a product of their own decision making skills. Everyone has three choices in life the Sidewalk, Slowlane or Fastlane! I know the steps needed to take to place myself on the Fastlane, I understand that time is your greatest asset and you need to put your time into a business system that is able to transform indentured time into free time! The business system must hit all parts of CENTS and must be need-based, you can not start a successful business for selfish reasons. Once you start giving without expecting anything in return is when you will start receiving in numerous amounts!

This past year has been full of life lessons, setbacks and self reflecting on how to reach and achieve the goals/life destination I ultimately want to have! I have learned to read and retain everything, to keep two ears open and see everything from others perspectives especially the ones who have already succeeded, financially free and living the life I aspire to have! Always listen to everything others have to offer and then once all the information is on the table then you are able to process and retain different pieces of information from different people and that is when you are able to form your own perspective and opinions on different topics.

As for right now I am currently for a meal prep company, personal trainer, nutritionist and do electrical/carpenter work (anything that you can do to possibly make money I have probably done it). Any free time that I find during or in between these jobs I am trying to read and learn anything and everything I can to finally break free from the rat race and hop aboard the Fastlane! I want to start my own business and be able to follow the Fastlane to become wealthy quickly but not easily! Everyone has their own driving forces that make them do what they do, I am driven to live the life I told myself I am going to live, I am very confident in myself and my abilities! To me its not a matter of if but when it happens!

I am very anxious but also excited for what this new year is going to bring and throw at me! I am no where near the end of my story yet but just beginning! I am very grateful to be apart of the Fastlane forum, to be able to read, listen and learn to all those who are striving to achieve what I am also trying to achieve! Thank y'all for listening and reading my story up until now and I can't wait to update on my story and once things start to eventually take off for the better!

You seem to have a lot of different jobs. How can you replace one of them with a side hustle?

1. Find painful (to customers) problem.
2. Develop the best solution to the problem.
3. Sell products/services based on the solution.

stop doing the electrical/carpentry for an employer and start doing it directly for clients/homeowners/businesses.

You can charge $5000 to go build a deck and do it yourself or get workers to help you.

Easiest way to start making more money. Be the company.

LLC, liability insurance, contractor's license for work that requires it (not hard to get), run some ads and post online and making some calls and start making way more.

Get a good website, get listed on google as a business that offers any service you're capable of (carpentry, building water features, remodels, etc.) and get reviews and a basic website that delivers leads to you. Start managing projects and I'm sure you can get an operation going that makes a few hundred thousand a year just you and some workers you trust and have trained.

I went a different route and did the more scalable service that made less money immediately but can be a lot bigger, we are opening our 4th location soon, I started at 21-22 and I'm 26 now.

That is great advice! Instead of doing the work for another company, to become the company!

I am still trying to become more business & financially literate to be able to start the company as efficient as possible that follow the CENTS laws and hit all of the commandments to be able to put myself in the best possible chance of success!

If you have any recommendations or suggestions of books to read or videos to watch on the actual specifics of starting a business and the mindsets/knowledge needed to run a successful one it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm currently brainstorming and looking for online businesses that I can start up, want to make sure that it is a need-based business instead of just a business that I know a lot about and passionate about. I can become knowledgeable on any business idea but not every idea is a need!

Currently living in Long Island, NY but willing and looking to move out of state!

Not sure if I should start something now while still living in NY, or wait until I settle down in a state that I'm more comfortable living & growing in!
