I don't recall seeing a thread where we discuss our dream cars, and given the nature of this forum, I think it'd make sense to have one.

(I couldn't decide whether to put this in the "Mindset and Motivation" section or the "Your Goals/Your Fastlane Plan" section, so I went with the "Off-Topic" section. :))

1) Something in the affordable luxury market -- probably an Infiniti G37 (coupe or convertible) or a BMW 3-Series coupe. If I need something bigger, maybe I'll go with an Infiniti FX.

2) Once I reach my next milestone, I'll upgrade to something along the lines of a less-expensive Porsche, Jaguar XK Convertible, or BMW 6-Series. Haven't thought about this range too much. Speaking of range, maybe I'll go with a Range Rover or a RR Sport.

3) After that, I'll move up to an Aston Martin. I like the DB9 a lot!!! Can't wait! :)

4) Then, it's time for the Murcielago and the Bentley Continental convertible. Yayyyy!

How about the rest of you?

My list is pretty simple. I have had this list for quite awhile. The Range Rover would be the family car, especially for the road trips.

I can't decide if I would want Audi RS6 (new A4's are really nice too), Benz E Class AMG (not a fan of the CLS, C or S classes) or BMW's M6 (I don't like the 5 series, maybe if they redesigned it). I have had the privileged of driving all three manufactures thanks to my father, and I think I will be leaning towards the M6, or maybe just a M3 since it's approx. ~$45,000 cheaper.

And of course, the weekend car, one of my favorite Lamborghinis, the Nera.

All my cars will be black on black except for the range rover (black on chrome).

Sidenote: the other day I took my dad's benz to the shop and some guy just bought a benz e63 amg, i almost fainted when I heard the engine. It has nothing on the Lamborghini's but it would be a great everyday car!

Oh and Ryan, I see we have similar taste in cars hah!

I like the first generation G35 compared to the G37.

I'm sure you have seen the movie Casino Royale where Daniel Craig has the DB9, too bad they had to ruin it. In Hong Kong, an anonymous man lives in our building complex and he has a few sweet rides, one of them is the Vanquish, I can't take my eyes off it when I drive past it when I exit the parking lot haha. I was tempted to ask him if I could take it out for a spin but decided I'll just wait until I have my own, not that he would say yes.

I don't really have a dream car either. Functional, comfortable, reliable, and powerful enough to pass easily is all I need. I really lean towards comfort these days. I drive an Infinity FX. While it is not my first choice, it handles the dogs and golf clubs. It has a tow package that I use for bicycles. It fits the comfort bill. What else would I need?

Seems like a lot of people want and RR HSE until they drive one. Sure they look nice, but the function side isn't all that hot.

I've owned every "dream car" I've ever wanted to own. I think my Murci will be my last exotic, at least in the sports car realm.

wow lol boys and their toys. (I see too much $$$ that could be used for much better things) Ill have to ask the hubby what his list is since I dont have one of my own I know he does! If you took the names off the cars and told me a name to pick out of the picture line up I would have absoultely no clue which was which.

I totally dont understand the whole car wanting thing.

the only way I see myself personally wanting to own more then one vechile would be if I needed it to do something specific. Like when I have a boat or a trailer or whatever Ill need something to tow it. and something to drive around with the kids and thatd be about it. (when I say I, I mean hubby-- dont see myself launching any boats in the future lol)

So what is it about the cars you almost all want that makes you want them ohh so bad? status? envy? what?

First off...when I have the money to buy my dream cars I will be buying my father an Aston Martin DBS and my mother a Bentley Continental GT before I get myself anything. They made me who I am.

Enough with the sappines...lol

I have way too many cars that I plan on owning because I am an exotic enthusiast. But I will name off a couple of them.

It's not really something that can be explained. People are wired differently. There are hobbies that others have that make no sense to me. Just like some people love shoes, wine, or collecting stamps, I love cars. I feel great when I'm driving them, working on them etc. For me it has nothing to do with status... it's just something that makes me happy.

I can understand that I guess.

I am trying to figure out what my thing is... as far as I know i dont have one lol. I dont do any of the above.

dont get me wrong Im not saying that I dont like cars Because I do. I love to drive. I just dont have a preference as to what it is other then what someone else said. it has to look nice, drive nice, be able to pass people and not fall over itself. as long as its in good mechanical shape Id be happy!

I need to think more about this. man Im boring lol.

In my opinion, for some, fancy cars motivate them. For example, I like driving, so I want fast cars like the Porsche and the M5, so I know that if I make big money, I can buy more mods for them.

It's definately not a bad thing to have no interest in material things. In the end, they mean nothing. If they bring you some kind of joy or happiness, it's worth it... but if not, there's no point in wasting your money!

There's some things you're just born with. Things you've had a passion for since you were a kid. (music, looking after people, investing... it doesn't have to be an object). When I was a baby and my parents handed me my first rattle, I pushed it across the floor and made an engine noise with it! Like I said people are just wired differently. Don't feel bad if you're not into material stuff - that's a good thing!

Oh i was talking about the range rover quotes, not the HMMWV that you posted.

In any case a lot of people dream about the current pinicles of the brands. Really i think most of it is a status thing, a lot of the cars are just that.... cars. I race cars,i get a lot more joy out of driving the crap out of a car rather than having it for status. I would like to get dedicated race cars and im not saying a Murci GT or anything. More like street race cars dedicated ror the track with race offsets, r-comps, and 6 pt harnesses.

My ultimate dream car is the Bugatti Veyron. I know for a fact, however, that I will never have one; they're only making 300 or so and production will be over by the time I'm in the market for a 2M+ car. So...

I'm hoping to get the Lamborghini Murcielago, or (more likely) its replacement.

Of course, I'll need to have some kind of bigger car, so the Porsche Caynne or the Cadillac Escalade should do the trick.

Also, it would be nice to round off that list with the green Tesla Roadster, so I can occasionally be eco-friendly when driving.

Of course, all of these cars are very expensive, but that's why I'm here!

You mean the Lamborghini Jota. Its looking pretty good so far, rumoured to have a 700bhp, 6.0L V12 engine and a lighter body made of CF and Aluminum. But for me, all I really want is a modded Cayman and a M5 or E63 AMG

The newer exotics and super luxuries are nice, but I would get bored with most after a year or so. I prefer the more exclusive, rare, limited production, classic, iconic cars. The rare cars that you won't see every day in L.A, NY, or Miami are the ones I dream about. The cars that will make any grease monkey and gear head trip over your average cookie cutter, high end ride to check out. These would be the cars I would keep and cherish

That being said, the first car ever that made me say, "I WILL own one some day" was the '53-'57 Chevy Bel Air. I fell in love with this car when I was probably 3 or 4 years old. I want a custom one with a modern fuel injected big block with a blower the size of a Honda motor. Some cars to follow, but not in order were:

'65-'67 Pontiac GTO
A "rat rod" with an open top, exposed motor sitting looooooow to the ground(fast, loud, and dangerous :smx1:)
ratrod1.jpg

A numbers matching, mint condition '71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda convertible
A black, mint '61-'68 Lincoln Continental convertible; lowered sitting on 20''-22'' wheels.
tn_Lincoln%20Mobsteel2.jpg

'64 Impala on hydraulics panted candy purple with gold wired wheels...Go Pirates! :smxF:

Some exotics would include:
Diablo GTR
Ferrari F40
Porsche 959
Carrera GT
Lamborghini Miura(drooooooool)
0405jn.jpg

Being a motorcycle enthusiast, there are many that I hope to own, but just like cars, only a few that I dream about. Any MV Agusta F4, but the F4CC is a keeper. I also strive to one day own a Ducati Desmosedici RR, the Ferrari Enzo on two wheels. The closest thing to a Moto GP road going bike you can get. Only 1500 made, this was modeled off the 2006 Moto GP winning Desmosedici GP6.
desmosediciRR-med.jpg

I also hope to one day have Jesse Rooke or Roland Sands build me an old school bobber and a "street fighter" inspired custom. Below is two of Roland's more famous machines, No Regrets and Glory Stomper.
NoRegrets.jpg
