Work Life Balance - The mind of an unhappy slave
You are on this forum because you want to live an extraordinary life.
Extraordinary results require extraordinary actions, which in turn are driven by extraordinary thoughts.
To put it in simple terms: if you want to be the 1%, you CANNOT F*ckING THINK like the 99%.
And one of the all-time favorites of the 99% is the elusive and misleading concept of "BALANCE", or, more specifically, "work-life balance".
At a very superficial glance, this doesn't sound like very bad advice. After all, without balance, you're going to fall, right?
But upon closer analysis, you will discover how this apparently innocuous statement is used both as an excuse for mediocre (GARBAGE) results and a subtle form of escapism from a detestable life - a life that you don't really want to live.
Like most of the bullshit that comes out of the decadent modern society, this is yet another bastardized idea stolen from various Eastern philosophies, watered down, distorted, packaged into some F*cking self-help content, and delivered to the desperate masses. It is then mindlessly regurgitated, and so it becomes "common wisdom".
Common wisdom like "get a stable job", "save $0.5 on coffee", or "business is risky".
1. What "work-life balance" actually means
It means that you hate yourself, you hate your life, you hate your job, and you just want to have a F*cking break from it all.
It also means that you have developed a flawed mathematical model of reality, and you somehow managed to convince yourself that your existence here on this planet is somehow magically divided into multiple isolated sections ("AREAS OF LIFE").
Spoiler alert: it isn't.
It doesn't matter how complex your life is.
You can have multiple jobs, multiple businesses, multiple hobbies, multiple girlfriends (sorry, I'm projecting), multiple concurrent goals or plans, multiple dogs and cats, and so on. But at the end of the day, EVERYTHING is part of a single integrated biological system, which is YOUR LIFE.
And you only have 1.
You either learn to enjoy it, or you don't - and waste it.
"Work-life balance" necessarily implies that your work is NOT your life, and that you cannot F*cking wait for 5 PM to roll around so you can start actually enjoying yourself by watching Netflix, only to get back into the dreaded office the very next morning.
If it isn't already painfully self-evident, I am going to spell it out:
This is a surefire way to ensure, with 100% certainty, that you will NEVER achieve anything worthwhile and waste your limited time, pretending to be "productive".
As many successful entrepreneurs have discovered, the only possible way to achieve real breakthroughs and skyrocket your progress is to be 100% emotionally invested in whatever you're working on.
YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO IT.
For visual learners:
The following diagram illustrates the life of a pathetic man who is wasting his time:- The credit card symbolizes debt (slavery)
- You can clearly see that the HEART (love) is completely detached from "work", ensuring that "work" stays a piece of shit that barely pays the bills
- The clock symbolizes "free time", which is a common phrase used by slaves
- Most importantly, the man gets NEITHER "WORK" nor "LIFE", as he is equally distanced from both of them!

2. Real balance - the key to life (on planet earth)
Every living organism on this planet has a set of very specific environmental and physiological parameters in which it can survive - temperature, air pressure, water pressure, pH, salinity, etc. If any of these drops below the minimum threshold or rises above the maximum threshold, the organism in question dies.
Every living organism also follows very specific physiological cycles - cycles which are usually driven by environmental triggers.
This can be seen as some kind of balance, but HOW this balance is achieved is very important - and relevant to this discussion:
1. Your sleep-wake cycle
- You are fully asleep during the night.
- You are fully awake during the day.
You call it INSOMNIA - that's what the "work-life balance" guys advocate for. Do both, enjoy neither.
2. Your heart beating that keeps you alive
- The heart fully contracts with all of its strength.
- The heart fully relaxes, getting ready for another beat.
And yes, this is exactly what the "work-life balance" guys advertise.
[EDIT: I have added more diagrams in this comment. Highly recommended for science nerds.
I could go on with plenty of examples, but I think I've made my point clear:
The only real path to actual, and life-long balance is to oscillate between two extremes.
It is to live life in "seasons".
It is to focus obsessively on one primary objective for months at a time, only to switch to a different one later.
Be fully present, obsessed with, and consumed by whatever you're doing: launching your new business or spending time with your kids. Enjoy every single drop of time you have been given on this planet.
Take everything to EXTREME LENGTHS.
F*ck "work-life balance".
Live with passion and purpose.
This is the key to BOTH success and happiness.
The balance that spontaneously - and paradoxically - emerges from deliberately living an imbalanced life.
