We all know that LinkedIn is a great place for finding business. But some of you might be wondering why? Why LinkedIn over all the other possibilities out there? This article's aim is to answer these questions.

I’m sure I could use LinkedIn better, but I find it so spammy I rarely log in anymore.

My inbox is full of canned spam.

My feed is full of people content marketing like it’s 2009. “Value vomiting” is a great term I heard for it.

I wonder how many other people don’t log into LinkedIn because the platform allows or encourages spam?

Does spam work for anyone?

I’d hazzard a guess that relationship building is the biggest benefit of LinkedIn, not lead gen via content marketing.

Kinda like this forum?

I heavily use LinkedIn to find out who people are. I talk to lots of people in industry who drop a name, and then I look them up on LinkedIn to see who they are. Or if I am part of a big email chain I can see who everyone is.

It is also great to know what city they work out of, how long they have worked for that company, and what all industries they have been in.

But using it to actually talk to people? Very rare. People accept invites, but rarely am I able to message them on the actual platform as almost no one answers.
