I do this every week with clients, and a few friends.

From the book "The ONE Thing":
  • What ONE Thing can you do that will make everything else redundant or easier to do?
  • If you don't know what your ONE Thing is, then figuring it out is your ONE Thing.

Let's go...

Week Commencing Monday 14-Nov-22
What's your "ONE THING" this week?

EDIT:

Note from @MJ DeMarco:

GoalSumo.com now allows you to set a Weekly Goal Focus, essentially a "What one goal will you accomplish this week?"

So now our service is optimized to help you WIN THE DAY and WIN THE WEEK.

If you take care of those two things, your odds of WINNING THE YEAR likely goes up 1000%.

I'll start.

My ONE Thing this week is to create a landing page and simple signup funnel for a new product.

I'll keep doing the usual client work, following up with prospects, and posting on social media.

My ONE thing is to read the book the ONE thing (which I have had lying around for ages but haven’t read yet) ;) no just kidding, My ONE thing is to get my online course up for the public, because even though my beta testers found it amazing, I stopped myself in the process of getting it “out there”.

All this fastlane talk and UNSCRIPTED thinking make me believe in the value I am creating is actually worth getting paid for. So big step, but Im excited

Thank you for asking, just realized how easy it is to stay in the action-faking area when I have too many things I want to do. Just decide on one thing and go do that 😀

Exactly. It doesn't even need to be THE one thing that will make everything else redundant or easier to do.

Hold on... this reminds me of what @LightHouse does in his group.

Im new to this forum, so please enlighten me what it is lighthouse do?

Nice post @Andy Black

My one big thing is to add a first case to my website portfolio! I launched a beautiful website yesterday, of which I'm very proud, I'm going to add it to my portfolio so people know what I can do for them.

Have a good week, everyone!

The One thing for me is to make a investing presentation deck for a presentation that I'm doing.

I decided I was better served handing over a few clients to another Google Ads consultant and getting a new consulting client instead of creating a new landing page and simple signup funnel.

I also decided to put the new course/newsletter on a new domain with a brand new installation of New Zenler.

My ONE Thing:
  • Successfully onboard a new consulting client and create some new campaigns for them.
Other:
  • Figure out next steps for a poorly performing PMax campaign.
  • Setup a new domain for a new course/newsletter.
  • Start back at daily short videos?

I have a few things that I need to do, but my main one thing this week is: learn how to clean windows, so you can offer window cleaning (harder than it seems)

Thank you, @Andy Black for starting this thread. It's nice to see where others are in their processes.

For me this week, I'll continue researching and outlining content. Yesterday I started applying concepts and practices presented in the book The 5AM Club, so I'll continue seeing how that serves me. On a personal note, I'd also like to tackle Christmas cards.

I wish you all a prosperous and productive week!

It's really nice to hear that you're taking action on your longstanding goals!

I just realised that I actually did the thing I assigned myself in the previous post here...nice
This week I want to close at least one window clean sale. I basically turned ill the day after I cleaned the windows for money (and still kinda am) so I hope I'll be able to get to work again this week...

I've got a business plan that is about 60% complete. My one thing for this week is to get the first draft nearly finished, about 90%. Then I'll know exactly what information I need to find out to finish it and I'll have much better clarity in my mind of exactly what steps I need to do.

For me:
  1. Create a video ad in Canva for the first time. It's for a client. I'm keen to see if it can help the client, and how useful Canva is.
  2. Keep hounding a new client for business metrics. Hard to tell if we're making a difference if they don't tell us how many enquiries, leads, and sales they make each week.
  3. Chat with the owner of a business who were a client a couple of weeks ago. He reached out asking for a meeting.

Even though the week is halfway already I have been having this idea of being a bit more active in here, to put up a post or reply on some of the amazing threads. But the week took off in the speed of lightning, so now Im killing two birds wiht one stone. I am writing in here, about wanting to write some more in here. This is how I feel I am still doing something for my business life even though work has taken me hostage again ;)

Mon 12th Dec '22
I don't know if Andy is going to post a Mon 12 Dec post or not but this is my update for this week.
Last week I wanted to get my business plan nearly finished which I have just managed to do. It needs a lot of polishing and has a few big holes but I am pleased with progress so far.
So for this week my ONE Thing is finish off a short training course that I am doing. It shouldn't take too long, but I have a lot of urgent household tasks to do this week that have nothing to do with my business so I won't have as much time as in a typical week this week.

So many things makes so much more sense now, after I’ve actually Read the book “the one thing”

Ive been working with micro steps for years now (inspired by the Kaizen principle) , and they work magnificent but up until i read the one thing book i often felt like i got lost in the process because the kaizen principle focus a lot on the small things we can do right now and not a lot on which way we are going with it…

reading the book made me connect the dots between the small steps i do today matches the dream i have of many years out in the future

Getting better with cold calling and getting a client if I don't do it this week then I'll do it next week
