Every morning I wake up and this is what I see.

About 2 hours are dedicated to habits that move the meter on my life, from health to business.

Screenshot 2024-03-21 at 11.11.06 AM.png

All of these are habits that I do daily.

This is how I win my week.

And this is how I win my month.

And the year.

And life.

Notice, I'm not focused on some esoteric goal next year.

I'm focused on the day and the week.

It's not rocket science.

Do what needs to be done, and the rest falls into place.

We're already nearing April... Bloody hell.
1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
Successfully completing my 3 day flipping trip.
2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
The 3 day trip, cross-posting items to flip across several platforms.
My agency has more or less fully shifted to PPC/SEO/App Dev.
3) What are you not doing but should be?
The time for me to revisit and update the processes within my agency is coming fast. At this point, I've decided to officially hire an operations manager, but I've chosen to hire someone US-based. I've made a few job postings and have received decent results.

I should be going through said results, and reaching out to schedule interviews. I may end up scheduling Zoom interviews while I'm on the road.

Furthermore, my first TCG app will be releasing in a few months, so we really need to start marketing it fully.
4) Who will you help this week?
I am hoping to drop my thread for tech newbies this week. Hopefully it's good enough to qualify as "help."
5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Probably flipping, tbh.

It's fun, I love it, and I've been making obnoxious profits off of it. Unfortunately, however, I know it isn't sustainable, and I know it's ultimately not the direction I'd like my life to go.

I believe refocusing on my agency and my TCG company would benefit me immensely. Truth be told, I think after spending the last ~5 years straight grinding, flipping is, in a way, my version of giving myself a vacation.

Cheers.

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
This week -
Finish Documentation: there's few outstanding bits still needing work!
Get 15 Testers: I have 4 so far, will get 15 this week.
Feedback + Prep for Release: reading and actioning user feedback to get the App to Googles Play Store for next week.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Getting myself free time. This week im taking time off regular job for a week to focus on biz + it's Easter.

3) Who will you help this week?
I'm making new connections this week so it'll be interesting to see!

4) What are you not doing but should be?
I would like to wake up earlier to see what my productivity is like in the mornings.

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Getting stuck on this question for too long, haha!

My books:

Working on getting reviews on the ones published. Got the next one just about ready to publish.

Got to write the blurb for the back of my kids' Math Activity books this week. I have the cover chosen.

Have 2/3rds of my first book recorded and edited for Audiable. I have learned how to dictate it, make the notes in the manuscript to prompt my edits, and then edit the recording. And I can join the different recordings to make my master file. Inch by inch, life's cinch.

Rentals:

Everything is fine -- all rented. Turned down an offer to buy property Saturday. The timing is bad and I'm comfortable with things as they are. The prospective buy said to put him at the front of the line when I'm ready.

The plow truck is still down. We hope the driveline is finished today so we can pick it up. Spring is happening and things are starting to melt. We call this season "Break Up".

My off-site rehab project:

Working on the drywall and putting the gas-burning log stove into the family room. We'll need more parts to hook up that stove and the fireplace store is 60 miles away and 3 towns over. Oh well. I always wanted to make a trip today.

New business:

I am thinking about starting a new business selling stuff to gift stores for the tourist trade here in Alaska. I'm looking at it seriously. It's just for fun. I tried to do it 25 or 30 years ago, but now it is a lot more doable. I already have a lot of the moving parts I will need.

New Business

I'm working on a new business for the last couple of weeks. I feel like I'm crazy and too old to start something new. BUT, this is just for the fun of it. I'm using art I did 30 years ago for the basic graphics, and starting it all again. I've spent two weeks sitting at my drafting table with my paints, brushes, and ink pens. I've now gotta do the not-so-fun part of building a website and learning to use the new equipment I have ordered.

The difference now compared to 30 years ago is that I can use my color copier/printer for the artwork -- no offset printers and companies involved. I have room in my little office building to house it. I can afford to buy the equipment I need to get it all started. I don't have to live off of the income from it -- succeed or fail. I just finished a 5-year government contract, sold a side business a couple of years ago, and streamlined my property management duties. I'm still super busy, but it's better. I have people to help me with the workload. And there are no gatekeepers to tell me no this time.

We have an amazing tourist trade here in Alaska that I'm targeting. By selling my products, we can travel around the State and see people while writing the travel off my income taxes. My career was on the road in California and I loved it. I moved here after I retired and my feet have been tied to the ground with my residential rental business for the last 21 years. It's time to do something fun.

This week I'm negotiating for some new equipment for the new gig. And some that I ordered should be in. I need to start to learn how to use it all. I have a few more supplies to order.

I'm starting to set up a new client contact list. In Los Angeles, I would have bought my list. Here it's a start-from-scratch project -- no compiled databases available to buy. I have the basic database program on my computer. I need to get it all set up and start entering data. (But, last week I did determine what program I needed and I'm ready to rock and roll). I got a list of active business licenses in my target category from the State website. Now I need to look up each one on Google. Then I'll call and talk to the merchandise buyer at that business to qualify them for my prospect database.

My off-site rehab job:

We're doing drywall & mudding to get ready to paint the interior walls and ceilings.

We had the kitchen designer do a new plan for the kitchen. We're weighing her suggestions.

The snow is melted enough to frame in the windward side of the new front porch/arctic entry. I hope to get that framed in and ready for the clear plastic panels this week.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week? Marketing on social media.

3) What are you not doing but should be? Omg I need to study animation more omggggg.

4) Who will you help this week? Hopefully a pier, with something similar to what I'm doing.

I don't know.

I usually don't set dates or make announcements until the rough draft is finished.

Right now I'm about 50% done.

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
This week -
Business: Get 3 active users on my app!
Health: Go to gym/swimming every morning! Been waking up at 5:30am compared to the usual 7am, which isn't as difficult as I imagined it to be.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Listening to sales audiobooks + experimenting with copywriting.

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Restore my tidy routine! It's 5-10min a day.

4) Who will you help this week?
I'll help the 3 users I'll get!

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Maybe, going to the supermarket every day to cook food for myself. I like it, but it takes a lot of time. I will plan 2-3 days in advance and see how that works.

Thanks for starting this week off.

For "1) Get 3 active users" ... consider changing your goal from the outcome to the actions you need to do to get 3 active users. You can't really control whether you get 3 active users, but you can control the actions you'll take.

For example, maybe you determine/estimate that engaging daily in Facebook groups gets you into 2 DMs per day and 25% of those DMs result in someone becoming an active user. Then you'd get an active user every couple of days, so 3.5 per week. You've then determined your "solvable problem" (Get 3 active users per week by engaging in Facebook groups daily and getting into 2 DMs a day) and know what reps to put in.

I was gone last week. It was a great trip to the "Lower 48". I worked on my new art business while I was gone.

This coming week:

My new art business:

I've found some different ways to market it. I'm really excited. I've done and redone a whole bunch of art for signs, stickers, buttons, and patches. It's fun. I'm doing new copyrights on everything. Some of the art I'm redoing dates back to as early as 1994 -- that's 30 years ago.

I got my new 10-pin embroidery sewing machine set up. Now I must learn to use it to make patches. I need a new chair for the machine -- a drafting chair that will go tall enough. (Buying that will require a trip to Anchorage this week.) I'm giving up one of my AirBnB sleeping rooms at my office to have a place to house and work on all of this new stuff.

I have a new sticker cutting machine in. I must learn to use it. They say it will talk to the new sewing machine. I haven't proven it yet.

The button-making machines should be in this week. They will make buttons, refer magnets, and key chains in two sizes. That's another learning curve.

I'll use my wood shop to do some new signs. The wood for the signs will be slabs from our sawmill. I'll have to get some wood dried out and ready to use. I want to update and colorize a bunch of the past designs.

I'm just about ready to launch this new business. I will be renting a booth for our first show. I have to apply this week for the booth for the June show. And for the next one the following week. The reason for this step is to have face-to-face time with customers. That will tell us everything about how to create and direct the business.

I will also do some online and wholesale marketing. My direction will be toward our tourist market in the beginning. I'll need to build a new website and an online store. I've built websites before, so I can do it again. I've already bought the domain name, and qualified and joined the "Made in Alaska" group. I'm adding this new venture to one of my existing business licenses.

My books:

I published two and working on a few more. The ones published are being well received.

My rental business:

I almost have a guy who has just about moved out. I asked him to move. I'll call him tomorrow and ask if he is finished. I have an application for a new tenant for that unit.

That business is rolling along.

My off-site rehab:

I should have a bid on the kitchen cabinets this week. While I was gone, the guys got the kitchen ceiling joists reinforced with beams. We no longer need a post in the kitchen to hold up the second floor. It's now a clear space.

The interior drywall is just about finished. We've used almost 100 sheets of drywall so far. We should be painting the interior soon. Then we'll lay the bathroom floors and set the plumbing fixtures. I'll need to find the right vanities for the 3 bathrooms and the right cabinets with countertops for the laundry room.

The snow is melting and we should be up to daytime highs around 50 degrees. We will be able to work on the outside soon. We have some staining to do for the roof structures we've built and a bunch of siding and trim to install. We've replaced most of the windows. We only have a couple more to go.

My new art business:

Last week, I got the button-making machines and supplies. Starting scanning the graphic art and making my first buttons.

I’ll get more graphics scanned and sized and put them in the templates this week. Putting them on the page was quite challenging until I figured out a system. Now it’s just another chore.

I’ll get some more copyrights filed this week.

On my big Bizhub machine at my main office, I got a new file made for all of these graphics in the user box. My goal is to save everything into that file and then print the sheets on demand. I can print and use the same graphics sheets for buttons, refer magnets, key chains, stickers, and clingies.

I’m designing a digital external hard drive for my backup files to plug into Bizhub if needed. It’s much better to be safe than sorry.

I started setting up my email address with my new domain name for the new business. I’ll get that finished up this week. When I get that new email set up, I can finish setting up the programs for the embroidery machine. I have already started taking the graphics and creating the graphics files for the patches and the cutting machine for the stickers.

My rentals:

I moved a guy out this last week. He left a big mess, and we started cleaning that unit. We’ll have it ready to go again in a couple of days. The tenant who moved was quite a troll. I am glad to see his tail lights. I have an app from another couple that I will run immediately.

Another couple are moving out. I’m sure they’ll leave a mess, too. I have others interested in it as soon as it’s ready. This problem mess comes with the business.

I’m current on my bookkeeping for the first time in months. Yeah!

My off-site rehab:

Still working on finishing the 3 bathrooms. Last week, we did a bunch of bull-nose drywall corners. We’re getting those bathrooms ready to paint. Then, we can install the flooring and start setting the bathroom fixtures.

The snow is melting. We’ll be able to work on the exterior soon.

Thanks for starting this week off @WJK .

Love reading your updates.

I've never been up to date with my book-keeper so well done!

And I like the way you just matter-of-fact deal with the mess left by outgoing tenants. I presume you just see it as the cost of doing business.

Where/how are you selling the buttons/art? (I can visualise what this is.)

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
I've made an 'action list' which has been working out extremly well at making progress towards the goals, the format is as such -

What is it that I am doing?
Why am I doing it?
& Estimated Time this task should take if everything goes according to plan.

Some goals for this week -
1. What? - Fix minor bugs that's been discovered.
Why? - it negatively affects the user experience.
Estimated Time: 2-3hrs
2. What? - work on the import/export functionality
Why? - this feature has been requested from feedback & it's a big value add.
Estimated Time: 5-8hrs
3. What? - Switch to 'live mode' for payments
Why? - So I can recieve real payments
Estimated Time: 15min implementation & 1-2hrs testing
4. What? Update landing page with new section including screenshots of my app.
Why? To attract more users and showcase the product clearer.
Estimated Time: 2-3hrs

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Actions, actions, actions!

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Organizing my notes, ideas into 1 place, at the moment it's a bit all over the place... and staying hydrated!

4) Who will you help this week?
We'll see, noone in particular is planned for this week.

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Increasing my sleep debt!!

I'm trying to get the bookkeeping down to an average of an hour or two per day. It's a tough job with all my rentals and different businesses. I've been paperless for years and I have good equipment to help me with the tasks. I've tried hiring people to do that job, but then I must check everything and supervise it anyway. It's easier to just do it myself. I also have a basic fear of letting anyone put their fingers into my pie.

The messes people leave me in the rentals are just part of doing that business. We have ways to make the cleanup easier. We don't put carpeting into the rentals -- we use sheet vinyl on the floors. We also staple that sheet vinyl to all of the shelves in the kitchen and elsewhere. That way those shelves are easier to wipe clean. We use the same color of paint on the interiors and it's always semi-gloss, which means we can wash off the mess and touch it up when possible.

I only did one eviction over the last year. I have gotten very good at talking people out of my units. The guy who moved last week moved without me having to file against me. I have a reputation for winning when I do file.

My button, sticker, and patch business was just for fun. It's starting to get serious. Everyone loves my graphics. I've purchased all the machines I need so I've spent a lot of money on the start-up. The biggest expense was the 10-pin, commercial embroidery machine. And the business is really coming together. I'm using a current business license and business name. This whole thing is an old idea. I'm using the art I've done over the last 30+ years. 4 color printing for the graphics used to be very hard and expensive. Now I can do it using my computer and big printer rather than having to send it out to an offset printer. It's all in the timing.

I'm booking booths at 2 local shows in June and shows during our fishing season. We are in a major tourist designation. I'm also creating a database for gift stores all over Alaska for our heavy tourist trade areas. I have been approved to use our "Made in Alaska" designation and logo for our state. And I'm a woman-owned business. The reason for starting with the local booths is so my assistants and I can talk to customers to get a reading on merchandising and marketing -- and find out their favorites. In the meantime, I need to build a new website and online store. It's a busy moment for me.

I have contacts in two major distribution systems here in the state. I can tap either, but I'm worried they will steal my designs and get the merchandise made in China -- regardless of my copyrights. I know that getting knocked off is a real danger when dealing with a major distributor. Also, I want to sell to individual gift stores, so I would have to develop a line of merchandise for those distributors.

The art business:

Last night I finished up a series of graphics I’m calling “Grandma Says:”. It’s a collection of old truisms that we hear all the time. I don’t know if they will sell, but the investment is some of my time to collect and format them -- and a few supplies. I have 2 sheets of graphics, so I have 24 camera ready to print this morning.

This week I have a one-on-one appointment with a lady to teach me to use the cutting machine for the stickers and clingies. She also has one of the 10-pin embroidery machines for the patches so she can help me with that too. There is a learning curve for both of the machines I bought. In exchange for her time, I’m going to show her how I put together the graphic sheets together in Microsoft Word. I’ve figured out a system that works.

My rentals:

I got two more families moved into my 2 vacancies over the weekend. One family has 4 kids and the other has a toddler. Everyone appears to be happy.

I have another vacancy. It was unexpected. A couple broke up. She already moved and he moved out yesterday. We’ll have it ready to rent again by the end of the day. Again, both moved without me having to do a court-imposed eviction. And he did a lot of the cleaning. I’ll have it on Facebook this morning.

My off-site rehab:

Friday, I ordered the kitchen cabinets. They are 3 to 5 weeks out because of the shipping.

Most of the interior drywall is finished. We should be painting the interior soon.

We’re going to change out the electric meter stand since we are installing a new electrical lead from the pole.

The project is coming along.

Our caretaker’s residence:

I bought a small, two-story building that we’re going to put next to the gate to our house. It’s to have a second residence on my property. So, this weekend my husband was cutting down a bunch of trees to get ready to prepare the building site. I must call this week to get the well driller scheduled. We had the natural gas meter stand installed last summer. Our mover will bring the building as soon as the site is ready. The building doesn’t look like much right now, but it sure will work. And it was such a deal!

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?

I had hired a VA (virtual assistant), the process was extremly interesting, I'm planning writing a more detailed post in 1-2months, showing my process, numbers and progress!
This week, I'll be experimenting with creating and adjusting systems together with my VA, I imagine it's one of those where you investing time early, but later on it pays off!
Additionally, I had started making marketing materials for my app - which I'll continue. It's really taking shape and working on 'marketing' side instead of 'development and building' of the app seems like a possitive direction, which I'm really happy about!

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Marketing side of the app, and progress towards getting my app into play store.

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Cleaning my room! It's getting messy!

4) Who will you help this week?
Trying to make the life of my VA as simple as possible! My friend asked me to teach them English, so I'm briefly looking in how to be a good teacher for beginner levels.

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Laziness? Some of the habits I had built up are now dissolving... such as morning exercise, and I had started watching YouTube & Gaming - more than I'd like to admit.

My new business:
I contracted for the website host and live assistance service last week. Today I got the WordPress installed and working. This week I'lI start building the website and the online store. Last week we set up the Facebook post.

Friday I had a lady help me for 3 hours to learn to run the cutting machine. This week I need to get a glitch in the account registration straightened out so I can use the machine.

Today I ordered another manual cutting machine. That way we can use the electric cutter or the manual for our small stickers.

Tomorrow my husband and I will figure out how to install the frames for the embroidery hoops on the commercial sewing machine. We'll visit the store where I bought it and look at theirs. I have a collection of designs ready to go when we get that machine up and running.

The whole thing is a long learning curve for me. I can do the graphic artwork all day long. Getting all the pieces of art together and usable is only the beginning. Then getting the business and all the machines up and working is the new pony trick for me. The machines are always evolving. I started with getting the graphics scanned, edited, sized, and inserted on the graphic sheets for the merchandise. I'm doing a couple of sizes, so I had to create a system where each graphic is in the right location on the page. Then I had to save those graphic pages one sheet at a time into my user box (hard drive) in my printer/scanner. Now we can print them on demand directly from the printer/scanner.

It's a small-scale operation, and I'm doing it for fun. It's just another side gig. I've had a lot of those gigs over the year -- but I must admit that I've made pretty good money from some of them. They can take off and grow like a garden in the spring. What interests me this time is the affordable automation. The new machines do most of the work once you get them and the system set up. And they can do their job over and over again as long as they are fed the materials.

My rentals:
100% rented up -- even my RV spaces. I have a construction crew renting all of the RV spaces for a couple of weeks. The year-round rentals are all rented up.

My off-site rehab job:

We started staining all the raw wood in the new carport. Hopefully, if the weather holds, we can get it done this week. We're well into spring... and then it snowed one-day last week and rained off and on for days. We need 50 degrees and dry weather for the stain to cure.

Most of the interior drywall is completed.

The kitchen cabinets are ordered on their way here. They will be here on the barge in 2 to 4 weeks. (Shipping to Alaska is a real pain.) In the meantime this week, we've rerun some gas lines and run wires for electrical outlets for the kitchen appliances. The kitchen door is moved so we can build an arctic entry for that doorway.

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
Morning exercises are back on the menu! Going to keep going with that. Also, I had reached all the requirements for Google Play Store release!!! - except the last one, which is waiting 14days. As that time passes I'll be doing further planning and smaller updates for my app and I am now eyeing other marketplaces (Apple, Galaxy, Chrome Extensions).
I had found a method which reliably brings 3-8 downloads (not users) per day to my google play store app. Will keep doing this method untill the release date.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Market research, ad research, there's a typo in my screenshot that will be sorted.

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Investing more time into reading, I have a window of opportunity at the moment.

4) Who will you help this week?
As always; whoever needs/asks + keeping updated with the VA (so far it's been slow, but im thinking of teaching them how to use chatgpt promting)

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Slowing down, need to pick up the speed instead! Let's go!

My new business:
I got a new software program this last week to get the graphics ready for the embroidery machine. I'll use it this week.
I have a lady coming on Wednesday to get that machine up and going. The setup is very complicated. I think, with the software, and once we get it going, using it should be pretty straightforward.
I'll be working on setting up the website this week.
Today I'm contracting for a booth in the every Wednesday street fair held in the park on the Kenai River. I'm limiting our time to July and August. That's fishing season here and we have thousands of visitors. We'll be there to hawk our wares and talk to everyone. Will it be worth the time and effort? I won't know until I try it. In the meantime, we have two other shows to do in June to get us started.
Last night I copied a bunch of graphics files that I had ready for another book into my "patch" file for the embroidery machine. I can use all that art to make fun patches. I went through my fabric and I have a bunch we can use to make the patches.
(I've been sewing since I was a little girl, so I have a lot of good stuff I can use. And since I own the Laundromat, I'll have a constant supply of old jeans and clothes that people leave. I cut them up and use the good parts of the fabric to make all kinds of things.)
I have another class on Friday on how to use the Scan & Cut machine. I'll need that to cut the more complicated shapes for the stickers and window clingies.

My rental business:
I'm all rented up right now, but I will have a vacancy on Friday. The couple is moving to Texas. Getting it rented and ready for the next tenant is all in a day's work.

My off-site rehab job:
Still working on the drywall... and the kitchen cabinets are on their way...
The exterior staining for the new carport and porch is coming along.
The sheets of T-111 siding for the exterior back and side of the house are being stained.
We'll use some stained live-edged wood slabs off of our sawmill for the front and front entry areas of the house. Those boards are wood with very limited uses. And they will look very cool on the front of the house. We use them as siding in a shiplap pattern. Best of all, they are free.

My building to move in for our caretaker's cabin:
The trees and stumps are just about cleared from the site.
We went last night and measured the building. Now we must figure out how to configure the building in that space when we get it moved. And we must figure out if we're going to put a continuous foundation under it or sauna tubes. We know that the building will need an addition on the side when we get it in place.
I got one bid on the well we need to be drilled to provide the water. It was more than I expected so I have 11 other companies to call to get other bids.

My days are so busy that they are running together. I keep a log & a "to-do" list each day. And that's a good thing. I have a lot on my plate right now.

...

I didn’t post last week. I was too busy to take the time.

My New Business:

Learning the software for the new embroidery machine and cutting machine is a long saga. We have our first show in two weeks. We’ll get done what we get done. We’ll have enough merchandise to fill our booth. And I hope we will be very successful.

I have more supplies that should be in this week.

I’ve been doing a lot of art for graphic designs. That’s the fun part for me.

I’m working on getting the new website up and published by the 15th.

My Rentals:

May was a good month.

I rented the most recent vacancy so I’m all rented up for my year-round rentals. Yea!

My off-site rehab job:

A lot of the exterior is stained.

Most of the upstairs drywall is completed. That includes both upstairs bathrooms. We must paint them, lay the flooring coverings, and set the fixtures. Then we can start on the downstairs bathroom.

The railing for the upstairs front deck is almost completed. We’re using rough-cut lumber milled on our sawmill from locally harvested logs.

We’re still waiting for the kitchen cabinets which are being shipped on the barge from the Lower 48 to us in Alaska.

My building to move for our caretaker's cabin:

We need to expand the size of the building site we’re putting together. We’ve figured out where we want to set the building. We’re going to use 10” poured sauna tubes to support it.

I have a list of 11 well drilling companies to get bids for the water well. I haven’t done that yet. I’m not sure I’ll try to get those bids this week.

This week I'll buy a new .co.uk domain for a lead-gen (plus newsletter?) project that's showing potential from yesterday's Google Ads stats. I posted more details on LinkedIn here. We'll slap on a simple lead capture and see if we can start generating leads.

Someone last week reached out on LinkedIn asking for an audit of their Google Ads account. They're Head of Digital for a household name in the finance space here in Ireland, and maybe in the UK too. I'll prep for that a bit, and try to work out how to get more of these inbound leads. It's someone I worked with a decade ago who's moved on and up every few years. We've not been in contact since 2015. Amazing how LinkedIn works.

I'll create more of lessons in my 2024 version of my course. I'm doing text with screenshots instead of video.

1-2 new clients may come onboard this week so I'm trying not to fill my calendar.

Thinking about creating a few longer videos for LinkedIn and YouTube now. Still undecided.

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
Later today, all the requirement for the PlayStore app listing will be done, I'll be happy if my app can be easily accessed through the PlayStore text search - the main goal this week.
I'll update main site to include new PlayStore button + QR code.
I applied to other less larger app marketplaces, will go through their verification requirements and try to list my app on their platforms.
Afterwards, I'll start running ads and getting users in.
I have 2 more functionality pieces I wish to add to the app - graphs and dark/light mode.
I set up a marker - that once my app makes 150USD per month, I'll add it to the Apple Store.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
There's few bits which are blockers for running ads, so I'll be organizing and getting things tidy.

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Tidy material + create backups.

4) Who will you help this week?
Whoever opportunity allows, last week I helped 4 people and got paid. Train broke down, and I organised mine +3 others travel home through uber.
Instead of wasting 3 hours of their life, 10dollars got them and me home in under 30min!

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Action faking, watching YouTube prank videos. Few times I noticed, where I will be sitting down and waiting for 'something'... awful experience, will try to find a way to either avoid it in the first place, or find a simple way to see what the next high priority action is.

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
Complete the virtual in-game keyboard and it's functionality. Complete the save function. Order a USB hub online. Start writing controller functionality for UI code. Finish first boss pounce animation.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?

Nothing much, unfortunately. I keep staring at my lead numbers and getting excited but that's about it.

3) What are you not doing but should be?

Getting more leads.

4) Who will you help this week?

Fellow game devs I hope! Maybe they might want some tips on fixing their own stuff, or some input on their progress.

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?

STILL posing my wrist weird even though I have a wrist brace on, the brace is just barely bendy enough that I can still bend my wrist weird. At least the pain is less than without the brace. I'm also posing my OTHER wrist weird and I just noticed and just stopped like right now haha.

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
After going back and forth with rejection - re-submission loop, I can finally say that my app is live on the Play Store! Also, after some yet again rejection - re-submission loop, my first ad campaign is approved and active on Reddit as of yesterday.
(The easiest way I found to not feel frustrated with constant rejection is viewing it as - the team who is rejecting my content is doing it with good intentions, as in: they know that my content will not perform well on their platforms so listening to them is a huge value)
The goal of this week is to track numbers, I plan to compare Meta, Google, Reddit ad platforms and see how each one performs over the duration of next month.
Going to set up a blog article page on my website and start writing chatgpt assisted content to improve seo. Had an idea of creating simple value add chrome extensions, which will also advertise and direct users to my app.

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Track and observe ad performance. Exploring and discovering new roads for user base expansion. (Twitter/X?, LinkedIn?)

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Idk

4) Who will you help this week?
I asked some close people to let me focus last week, they did and I am thankful, this week I'll be extra mindful and helpful for them as my way of thanking. Although more progress has been made last week, I don't want to isolate myself too much as I had.

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Honestly hard to say, I started reading much more but these notes and understanding isn't being applied as of now. I should find a system where it can be applied instantantly, otherwise what's the point learning this?

My new business:
We have our first trial run on Saturday. We have a booth at a local festival and then another the following Saturday in a town a couple of hours away.

Trying to get everything ready.

Working on our website with our online store.

I'll know better how to set it up after this Saturday. There's no substitute for being in front of real customers. Then we'll have a booth over on the river every week on Wednesday from July 3rd through the end of August. We'll have thousands of visitors and Alaskans fishing that river for salmon during that time.

The first two shows are for locals and the Wednesday show is for both locals and tourists. I'm working on testing both of those markets. In the meantime, I can test the online market. I have been giving some of our stuff away to get reactions about what people like and what they pass over. What designs attract their attention? And we'll test our price points and find out what combinations of pricing works the best. At this stage, it's all about gathering the data to make it all work in the different market niches.

Talking to the customers is the fun part for me. I love doing the artwork and graphics. Putting the business end of it together is just work to support the fun stuff.

This winter I'm gonna develop a list of the gift stores in Alaska for the tourist trade. It will be very time-consuming since I'll have to contact each and find out who is their buyer and what kind of merchandise they buy. Last summer I took a cruise through the Alaskan Inland Passage and that was a real eye-opener as to the opportunities during our summer tourist season. I'll develop merchandise lines for that market that I can wholesale.

I'm doing this whole thing for the fun of it. It looks simple from the outside. It's actually pretty complicated to get it up and going. I have two degrees in Merchandising (marketing) which help me a lot.

My rentals:
We rebuilt a bathroom in one of the rentals this last week. Today we're doing floor coverings in an arctic entry (front porch - mud room). All is quiet here in that part of my world.

My off-site rehab:
Got the T-11 siding up around most of the house. Just have the back wall to go. When that is finished, we'll put the slab wood from our sawmill up on the wall of the house where the driveway is. It will add a lot of interest and curb appeal.

Finished the railing for the second-floor deck with rough-cut lumber from our sawmill.

Stained a bunch of raw wood for the carport, the new porch, and the second-floor deck. More staining this week.

The kitchen cabinets should be arriving soon.

Our care-taker cabin:
We're preparing the site. Got the topsoil stripped and the dirt guy should start bringing in loads of gravel today.

Figured I might as well jump in here

1) What will make you happy with progress this week?
Learning more of my native language. Vietnamese (Wow! The Vietnamese guy is named Kevin. No way!)

2) What are you doing to make a sale this week?
Nothing. Life has been pretty draining lately. I've noticed it's started to take a toll on my mental health which is causing me to lose mental clarity and focus. It's hard trying to plan out my goals for the future. I'm taking a break for a week or so but I might follow up on some leads and set up appointments for next week.

3) What are you not doing but should be?
Taking care of myself and my mental health.

4) Who will you help this week?
My clients who get their cars cleaned. Myself.

5) What are you doing that you should NOT be doing?
Spending way too much time on social media/phone. I spend about 3 hours a day and want to cut it down to at least 1 hour. Staying up way too late and not getting enough sleep.
