Sup.
So I've been in the forum for two years and seen quite a few people become successful doing trade jobs. I want to build this business into a company that prints cash while I sleep, as in the best tradition.
At the moment we have this:
1. I've been doing window cleaning myself for two months to earn cash while working at software, but now I focused, and now hired an employee to work with me. in total I own two kits of equipment (350eur), and 250eur worth is going.
2. Yesterday I did 160 eur, today I did 210 eur net... spare some expenses and tax.
3. The employee I've hired is an ex-construction guy who, as he said "has a daughter older than me" (i'm 21)
4. And yes, I'm still cleaning with him.
Currently, I'm bottlenecked by a lack of sales.
I've started doing door-to-door myself and expected the cleaner to just follow me and clean all jobs, but today I said "hey, you may as well go door-to-door while you wait", and he brings equal amount of customers as I do while he is here. I pay him well. Of course, all customers and their phone numbers go into my CRM.
I always did the window cleaning only, but today the employee suggested cleaning leaves, and we did 100 extra revenue with it. Good. (total revenue for the day was 410, i've paid him 180, because he also sold.)
We are doing it in high net worth (by irish standards) neighborhoods - today we went to houses which were sold over 1m eur.
I'm looking to hire another person. I already know I won't make enough sales to cover them, but the current d2d strategy seems to work.
A major TODO is to start selling service plans, i.e. cleaning contracts for a year and more. Because that will 4x my revenue per sale.
...
Yeah, we're doing it. I'm on the optimistic side of things. On the other hand, laughably, window cleaning was the only thing that I've made money with despite being 21 - this is when I did code, mechE, custom AI and others. Well, I'm not stupid enough for this.
Other TODO:
- Buy company jackets which make us look more professional
- Already ordered doorhangers to leave when many people aren't home.
- Already ordered a set of *these* cards which allows to tap and scan to leave a google review.
- Hire and train a third employee.
