You've made your disdain for Trump on this forum clear, how would you like him narrating a RE Development documentary, something you'd want to really watch? I'm guessing the thought would leave a sour taste in your mouth. Just saying...

Anyhow, I think it's a poor decision, but then again, it's Netflix where everything is about subconscious programming and narrative framing. Without watching the entire documentary, I'm guessing a political agenda will be buried within, something about climate change, dying habitats, endangered ecosystems, or something similar ... all things that quite possibly are true, but the use of BO makes me less inclined to believe it. Using a politician immediately tells me I'm not getting a neutral truth, but a biased spin. If Mark Wahlberg (or some other neutral party) told me habitats are endangered, I'd likely believe. BO? Trudeau? Merkel? Nope, not buying a damn thing they say, or sign on to.

There are now a lot of Ukrainians around the place where I live in Poland (Gdansk).

So far 2 million have come to Poland, which has a population of 40 million, so that's a 5% increase.
But I guess most came to the bigger cities and then they hang out in similar spots so it sometimes feels more like 10-20%.

It's kind of surreal to see so many women and children and know they all left because of war. In general, though they seem to be in good spirits and are just hanging out with family or friends.

If things continue I think I will look into if I can hire some - I have already seen a few businesses do this to try to support them.

I wonder if it was done intentionally as a pattern interrupt.

I’ve thought of hiring Ukrainians too. I’m working with a client who just lost their graphics designer because he got called up to fight. It’s hard to comprehend what they’re going through.

My post could have been interpreted the way you read it. That's on me. But that's not how I meant it. I would not enjoy or subject myself to anything narrated with Trump voice anymore than you would with Obama. And that was my point, that fact is sad to me. I wish it weren't so but it is. It is just a fact of our lives today. I was not judging you.
 
I was just reading up on the Ukraine situation and how they usually supply 25-30% of the worlds wheat.

Add in on top of this that Russia is also a major exporter who will likely now not be wanting/able to export their supplies.

This seems like a major issue. I’m guessing there is a lag time here but surely when this hits fully it’s going to mean massive food shortages.

Anyone more knowledgeable on this who might know how this plays out? I don’t see how you can make up for a 30% lack of one of the worlds biggest ingredients.

Ouch

No expert here, but from what I have read North Africa and the middle East will be hit the hardest.

But yes, major issue. I don't know how long it takes to harvest and what kind of damage is being done to the logistics / supply chain by the war... But it can compound very quickly.

I think wheat is also use to feed livestocks which will not help either.
 
I was out at a restaurant with my family yesterday and they were playing classical music!! It was so thoroughly enjoyable I must have pointed it out to my wife five times.

Restaurants these days are always playing this absolutely terrible top 40 at way too loud volumes. It feels like a dull and rusty drill bit going straight into my brain.

We have a Welsh pub in town that has pictures of writers and musicians on the walls that also plays classical music. It's a fantastic experience with great food.

I haven't been there in a while. They are still closed. They say they'll try to open this summer. I hope so.

I spat my water when she said "most people aren't capitalists because they don't have capital as they aren't billionaires".

Because skills, knowledge, and labor aren't capital. Billionaires become so by waving a magic wand and spawning a billion dollar bills.
 
TIP/SUGGESTION when reporting numbers:

1) Right align numbers. It makes it easier to scan down and spot the largest numbers.

2) Format numbers so there's a comma separating the thousands (e.g. 1,563 vs 1563). It makes numbers easier to read.

I would also add: choose a monospace font if possible especially if the numbers are changing over time, so that the overall width of the number and line-to-line alignment of each digit is consistent.

All of them.

Fauci gain of function lab leak. Wide spread election fraud. Hilary Clinton spying on trumps campaign and while he was a sitting US president. Censorship. Hunter Bidens laptop. Vaccine mandates. Boosters. 4th boosters. US Biolabs in Ukraine. Digital identities. Inflation. CBDC. Bank accounts being frozen for protesting. Food shortages. WEF infiltrating governments around the world. The great reset. How much more will it take?

None of these are theories any more, they’re all true and no one gives a F*ck.

But what can we do other than get rich, buy gold, silver and crypto, guns and move somewhere nice and live off the land.

I've been doing this for about two years now, but right after you get a haircut, (if you like the haircut) take a 360 video or photos at every angle of your cut (top, front, both sides, and back). Now, with videos/pictures as a reference, the next time you're asked what kind of cut you want, you can show the pictures or videos you took.

The stylist usually has no issues understanding what I want and I'm much more pleased with my cuts than when I just explained with words what I wanted.

Good idea.

For me “Grade 2 back and sides and a trim on top” has done the trick for decades. I ask them to cut the grey out but they just laugh.
