So I was never a Youtube guy, or a TV watcher in general but the lady is big on movies. I'm looking for good stuff we can put in our brains together during downtime, so trying to be very intentional about the content (uplifting, inspirational, learn something, etc...).

Wondering if the forum has any go-to youtube channels or movies that'd you'd consider life-affirming? Anything as the antithesis to the disney-fied woke propaganda so persistent in entertainment now. Thanks...

I can use Google

LOL, that's like a Russian reading Pravda expecting to learn the real truth of the Soviet Union.

I wonder if there’s any room at the poor house after today in the markets.

Who cares if they live in the poor house? At least they can still call themselves "the millionaire next door" and sell other fools on the same lifestyle -- the title means more than having to live like broke coeds for the rest of your life.

Then there's this...

Looks like I made the right decision not to use "slowlane" retirement vehicles. I think I have $17,000 in my Roth, $0 in 401(k)s, and only $160,000 in my IRA.

It pisses me off that the regulators are going to punish Thiel for obeying the rules that THEY put in place.

OSHO: Is Democracy the Best Way of Government? -- (Preview Talk)

Listen up to 1m45s in for the lols, but he makes a valid point.

However, I'm not sure I agree with his idea of making "universities the center forces of power, not governments."

Thoughts? :bulb:

Who else thought the Atlas Shrugged 3 movie series sucked, but was still somehow great?

I heard so many bad things about it I didn't watch any of them

They switch the actors in each movie. That’s the biggest problem. And they didn’t even try to make them look alike.

Now. The messaging is still wonderful.

That's so goofy. "You had one job!"

Why couldn't they keep the casting consistent?

I wonder if there’s any room at the poor house after today in the markets.
In r/WSB language, it's more like 'is there any room behind Wendy's for
a BJ? (hints at some desperate prostitution to make ends meet)'

I think I'm desensitised to the carnages of the markets at this point...I watch too much of the charts rise and fall even at home markets.

The last few days, a glove giant in my country, Top Glove finally breached the RM3 support when it missed earnings horribly. Folks were expecting 1 billion ringgit in sales, but it only earned 700 million after the toll of CBP bans (and a potential incoming windfall tax).

Totally purebear chart all the way this year...
1632239264663.png
Just watching the glove investors' Telegram group (formed since the GME days)...an orgy of denial, flaming and blaming shorties, the company and the government (for not banning short-selling).
Too many shmucks bought around RM7-RM8...so to have the price drop to RM2...that's a lot of loss porn.

Who cares if they live in the poor house? At least they can still call themselves "the millionaire next door" and sell other fools on the same lifestyle -- the title means more than having to live like broke coeds for the rest of your life.
At this point, market manipulators just made the stock market into a dangerous killzone, rather than a Slowlane pathway haha.

So tens of thousands of people in my province may be out of work by the sounds of things around October 1st. This would likely not only hurt these people's livelihoods, but it could likely also cripple many services (hospitals, power, telecommunications, etc.) And it seems that there is no long-term or logical thought behind it. Other than our province getting $1 billion funbucks from the Fed. Guess it'll help us pay off that new stadium we couldn't afford. o_O

It kind of saddens me how out of control this fear propaganda has gotten. The record suicides, the people afraid for their livelihoods, the division, the scapegoating; all of it. Even if this isn't an extermination agenda, there is no doubt much more at play here than "public health." I'm going to be as optimistic as I can, try to help who I can and do what is in my control/power.

I know many would suggest not to bother worrying and I partially agree. However, to be completely oblivious to one's surrounding renders one effectively a frog in a pot of water where the temperature is slowly increasing.

The protest turned into tens of thousands and more it's still going.

Pissed the cops right off as we told them to get f*cked.

Proud of us today, standing up for our rights.

We going back every f*cking day this week.

Question: Does "UNSUBSCRIBE" on real spam actually work? I'm not talking about mailing lists you geniunely subscribed to, but that non-stop spam that you never requested or opted into...

So far, all unsubscribe buttons have worked for me.

The few unsolicited emails I've got now and then always end up in trash automatically after a few rounds...I think Gmail already identified from the email language/deliverability which is spam to be rejected?

If they are using an email marketing provider, then yes, the unsubscribe will work. However, if they are a "real" spammer, then they'd probably get thrown right out of any legitimate email marketing platform. So they're probably operating their own mail server. If that is the case, then clicking unsubscribe could just as likely be a way to download their malware onto your system (and at minimum, it proves to them that your email address is active and monitored, which increases the likelihood of you getting more spam, as these addresses are more heavily sold).

Using the "report as spam" button is a MUCH heavier-duty way to get people like that shut down. There is an extremely low threshold (something like 0.01%) of messages that can be reported as spam before the sending domain gets added to the blacklist, at which point emails from that domain will no longer be delivered by most providers.

Cheers.

I went again today and cops pulled me and my mate up.

Told us to go home, we didn't, said we wouldn't and to arrest us if they want.

Got past their blocks.

Then they start shooting rubber bullets at us the dogs.

I also remember the shock of becoming a parent and having NO time. I’d boil the kettle six times just to make one cup of tea. Other parents know what I’m talking about.

As for now, when everyone’s gone to bed and the house is quiet, I chip away at my business … doing stuff I find fascinating. Like figuring out how to record, edit and publish videos and courses. Figuring out paid email newsletters, YouTube, Twitter, etc. You see me write it up in the forum.

During the day I take a break from work by logging into the forum and checking notifications, then logging straight back out again.

I used to be pretty fit. I’ve not figured out how to add fitness back into my day.
As a parent of two young boys (3 and 6) I can attest to this.

What works for me lately is exercise in the morning. Before the kids and wife get out of bed, between 06:30 and 07:00am I go for a 3,5km run every other day. I never really liked running but I have been able to slowly increase the distance to 3.5km. I want to work my way up to 5km. The 3.5km run only takes me about 20 minutes and I feel great afterwards.

Then, the same day I run and around 11am I do a 15 minutes exercise on a yoga mat to strengthen my core and upper body. Together with the running (legs) my whole body feels strong. Please note that I'm tall and thin so I'm not exercising to control my weight.

So together that's only 35 minutes of exercise and enough for my body. I guess you'll have to find the right balance that works for your body.

Welcome to the elite group of elitist elite! You samsung guys with the folding crap can come too.

I have the gold 13 Pro Max on the way!

My wife is still on a Iphone5S (my previous iPhone) and really wants an update. She's careless with phones so doesn't want a new phone. So I'm passing my phone to her.

I'm still happy with my XS but ordered a iPhone 13 Pro last week. I couldn't resist the 120hz refresh rate.

Is there a good source to find software companies that are targeting specific niches?

e.g. Software that specifically targets mom and pop "job shops" that provide welding on smallish projects

I can't seem to find a way to have an industry in mind and find a batch of software solutions that specifically target that market.
