Anyone else watching Physical:100 on Netflix?

I’m enjoying it so far. The people on Korean and Japanese reality shows are so much more normal and respectful. I can’t stand the western ones, I don’t know who decided westerners all want to watch the biggest degenerate F*ckwits on tv and not just nice normal people.

It’s a squid games style reality show where they compete to see who is the best physically.

A mixture of army, bodybuilders, Olympic athletes, strongmen etc. It’s cool and inspiring to see what humans can do.
I just started watching this after someone suggested it and I'm definitely enjoying it.

It's not a difference on the reality shows either. I lived in Asia for a couple years and the people in general are much more pleasant to be around than Americans at least.

My parents have been consuming less electricity every year for the last ten years.

They have also been paying more for their electricity every year for the last ten years.

On a long enough time scale, they'll be burning wood to survive.

When there's nothing to be outraged about, Twitter will invent something to be outraged about.
More accurately, Twitter will promote and amplify the 0.03% of people who are always outraged about something.

Are the newer social media channels for younger people the same way? My wife only shows me funny dog stuff.

I found this recently and I find it spot on. This was written by Tom Corley of richhabits.net The Today You Will Make You Poor. The Tomorrow You Will Make You Rich - Rich Habits

The Today You Will Make You Poor. The Tomorrow You Will Make You Rich

There are two you’s. There’s the Today You and there’s the Tomorrow You. The Today You is your enemy. The Tomorrow You is your greatest ally.

Today You

  • The Today Spends their Time
  • The Today You seeks immediate gratification
  • The Today You has no Life Blueprint or Life Plan they are pursuing
  • The Today You is focused on the here and now
  • The Today You seeks pleasure
  • The Today You takes shortcuts to get what they want
  • The Today You wants money and things now. They use credit cards and debt
  • The Today You prefers relaxation over exertion
  • The Today You likes to party
  • The Today You wants to sleep in
  • The Today You does not want to exercise
  • The Today You does not want to eat healthy
  • The Today You does not want to read to learn
  • The Today You does not want to work long hours
  • The Today You likes to spend money
  • The Today You has no dreams or goals
  • The Today You has bad habits

Tomorrow You

  • The Tomorrow You Invests their Time
  • The Tomorrow You Pursues Dreams and Goals
  • The Tomorrow You has a Blueprint or Life Plan they are pursuing
  • The Tomorrow You is focused on the future
  • The Tomorrow You avoids going into debt
  • The Tomorrow You eats healthy every day
  • The Tomorrow You exercises every day
  • The Tomorrow You is willing to work long hours in the pursuit of their dreams and goals
  • The Tomorrow You has good habits

There is a war raging inside each one of us between the Today You and the Tomorrow You. You get to decide who wins that war. For most, the Today You usually wins. But for a few, the Tomorrow You always wins.

The Today you will make your poor, unhealthy, unhappy and unfulfilled. The Tomorrow You will make you rich, healthy, happy and fulfilled.

Math question from a math-retard.

1 tub of protein powder has a total of 70 servings, and I take 1 serving a day, it can last me 70 days.

1 serving = 70 days
1.5 servings = (70/1) * 1.5 = 105 days?!

How can this be? If I take 1.5 servings a day instead of 1, how can it last even longer?

Edit: Problem solved. Thanks ChatGPT!

70 servings / 1.5 servings/day = 47 days

What a lot of people fail to understand is that private entities are more effective than public entities, yet banks finance and get rich off of both.

Does anyone know why a lot of regular people have this concept that they can quit to freelance and roll around in work immediately and if it isnt like that, they're doomed to fail? I've been building a base for almost 2 years and still see some oncoming challenges I'll get to work through.

Ran across this thread on HN:

Some chads popped in later with more grounded opinions on but a lot of the early comments from pure employees whinged on about "W-well it's not all sunshine and roses... you have to SELL! And find your own health insurance!" Well yeah how else would it work? And is working 80 hour weeks now to build a business that gives you steady work and referrals 2-3 years down the line- to escape the hell of TPS reports and meetings not worth it? An old Scott Adams quote comes to mind- "If success were easy everyone would do it".

Cold calling and talking to business owners, so many had respect for the initial grind and all the successful ones I talked to remember striking out and selling like hell for up to a few years but it paid out in dividends over time. A guy who ran a home inspection agency (cold called realtors for 5 years but now a millionaire) and a woman who owned a security alarm installation business (Started selling back in the 70s to support her family and now retiring after taking her company into the 10s of millions) come to mind.

In my case: I'm still sh!tting bricks because I've only ever known employment but with the small amount of time I've been able to sell and freelance Ive been able to provide so much more value and get more back when compared with my job.

What is y'all's experience freelancing, and the popular opinion people have on freelancing?

Opinions are like a**holes - everyone has them and they all stink.

Keep doing you man. Building a business is hard. If it wasn't, everyone would do it, like you said. Just make sure you are building the right kind of business, with the end in mind. That's what TMF and CENTS are all about.

AI won't kill SEO, only a certain type of websites, the ones that create bland and stupid content, like template websites, or dumb how-to guides.

E-commerce, SaaS, Youtube and social media will be safe.

Porn likely to take a hit with AI-generated movies and pics. Likely for the better. No one should do porn for a living.

Now they just need to go BRRRRRRRRR again to propel the real estate market further upwards and make sure that no one can buy a home without the government's kind partnership. Beautiful.

They already did that

Their plan isn’t exactly rocket science. It’s pretty obvious. Very sad. Like watching two trains in a head-on collision in slow motion.

ChatGPT is the incarnation of God.

I needed a paragraph for my Etsy listing, so I typed

"Write a paragraph for my Etsy listing using the list of words below:

example words 1,
example words 2,
example words 3
.
.
.
"

Lo and behold. It delivered!

I think that is a bit much. It is a bunch of computers strung together that can figure stuff out with minimal input from the end user.

It's a bunch of computers strung together that can guess the next word in a sentence in a way that seems like it makes sense to most people. It's not figuring anything out; it's not doing any of its own thinking at all.

Hormozi mentioned on Twitter that changing your phones colour scheme to grayscale makes it less addictive. He’s right. You don’t see the red of the notifications badge.
Reminds me of the old Nokia brick days. I miss that Snake game.

I’ve had mine set to grayscale for months. It’s great for everything but pictures.

I was looking at a car I thought was gray on Autotrader, and it wasn’t until I printed the listing to go take a look that I noticed it was an ugly color.
