But, what should we do? Should we stay in the family that makes your life harder?
If they just nag, try to understand what trigger points they have and avoid them.

Of course if they want to rob you…injure you…get far away. Understand your boundaries and set them straight. And respect theirs too.

But if your red line for cutting contact with family is just a 5-min nagging from mum/dad…then good luck…

The way how you solve family conflicts will spill over to how you solve other real-world conflicts too.

I watched the first episode of The Last of Us recently. I cried like a little baby at a certain point near the start of it.

Ever since becoming a father I just can't handle shows or anything where kids get hurt. All I can think about is my kids and how much it would absolutely destroy me if something happened to them.

I'd have to buy a UK # from somewhere else, but it seems that it'll be worth it.
The biggest Telco in the UK is BT. Find them at bt.com . They used to be nationalised and so had a monopoly, but they were privatised about 30 years ago and now have competitors. However they are still the biggest landline company in the UK. They may not be the cheapest, so you might go with someone else, but if they can't help you no one can.

I've been working for the past 3 or 4 months on a new business as an agent for a niche of holiday providers. Got two initial booking requests this morning & now just need to seal the deal on Monday over the phone. Been a long time since I had this nervous feeling about something business related - I love it

Just secured our first sale Havn't worked so hard to secure so little more and have been happy to do so since I built somebody a website for like $10 when I was 14 or 15 on Elance/oDesk. Things seem like they are starting to click into place however so fingers crossed that the second sale takes slightly less or & so on.

There's a market for Axios in the non-English speaking world. Media is just as corrupt but people are slower at realizing it.

In general, almost everything happening in the Anglo-Saxon world happened 1-10 years later in the non-English speaking world.

Gotta keep an eye out to spot trends. You also have newsletters solely dedicated to trend spotting.

I read an article about this...

I'll say what few won't want to admit or acknowledge; most of them eat only plant-based, including the guy in the top spot. This is the type of evidence (highly monitored hour by hour by medical doctors) that proves a raw, plant-based diet is optimal for health and longevity, not a carnivore diet as purported by some chest-pounding 22 year old whose greatest asset is his youth and the HGH still present in his body from puberty.

1674744896008.png
Over and over again research and studies indicate that a plant-based diet is the best for biological age, and longevity. Best for competing in Mr. Olympia at 25 but immobile by 55? Probably not.

The evidence of age is the elephant in the room. Although if you examine the B. Johnson story (the #1 guy, 2nd link) you'll soon realize this project of reducing your biological age is a full time job that requires a ton of money, and radical "goggins like" zealotry.

Blue zones are interesting, but they seem to share something besides diet: latitude and climate.

Just move someplace warm & sunny by the sea.

Here’s a good podcast episode with him

I will admit I’m one of these carnivore followers and when he said he was vegan I assumed his hair was thinning and he looked frail but after googling him he looks amazing

I may have to look into this

Edit:
They are taking a heap of supplements and vitamins, collagen was mentioned a few times, im wondering if that’s the difference between them and the vegans you see in the carnivore propaganda

Oh

He’s taking 104 pills a day and hair growth treatment lol

This is super interesting though, it’s cool how he’s done all the research and laid it all out so you can just copy him

What a cool rabbit hole to go down

I just got back from the doctor for just a regular checkup. I don't know man, I am getting more and more disillusioned with the medical industry every day it seems. I used to like this guy. He is fit, smart, critical thinker, and fairly young, maybe late 40s or early 50s.

Now I am not so sure. The last few years have literally just been pure shit shoveled down my throat with no thought behind it, just straight up pushing whatever the latest thing is.

Today I wanted to ask a few questions about some things like libido, nootropics for concentration, and I can't even remember what else. The answers for everything were just canned responses. He was sure to include that Canada just recommended that the alcohol intake be no more than 2 drinks a week, I figure I drink 2 a month so I am good according to them. But I mean lets just think about that critically for a half a second. An explosion in cancers and heart issues in the last few years due to this magical alcohol intake? People have been drinking since the dawn of time, and modern city-dwelling man probably has not changed their individual alcohol habits at all. So a spike in anything would have to be correlated to a spike in drinking, NOT in a change in the recommendations.

He also was pretty thorough in his questioning me on how my heart has been in general, and during peak load while working out or biking. Odd, I have never been grilled on my heart before, care to elaborate as to why? No, okay fine, just routine questions I guess.

I wanted to do a blood test because I completely changed my diet through September/October of 2022, and I want to see the results. Nope, can't get one, I already had one last year so its 100% off the table. Best healthcare in the world here in Canada!! Can't even do a routine blood test.

Oh, and make sure you get your boosters, your flu vaccine and I think tetanus or something. I said I have not had a flu vaccine in over 25 years and it will be at least that long until I get another.

What's really ironic is that everyone said "those jobs are gone" to manufacturing and blue collar work, yet now AI is almost exclusively coding, writing, and producing content.

Just move someplace sunny by the sea.

It's not that simple, but it definitely can help, especially the sun part.

Florida is just as obese as the rest of the country. There are no longevity benefits there (see below).

Florida or Corpus Christi Texas isn't rife with centenarians. In fact, Utah and Idaho has longer life expectancy than Florida, SC, or Texas, temperate climates.

Here is life expectancy by state.

That said, latitude and climate definitely helps. Although it is likely a precursor to the availability of food selection, physical activity, and access to nature, sun (less stress, vitamin D) as well as sustainability.

It isn't easy to eat plant-based in Alaska, Minnesota, or Amarillo Texas. I'd even say it is hard in Corpus.

But it would be easy in Costa Rica. Or Hawaii. And the sun, nature, and beaches certainly would help.

That said, I wanted to bring awareness to the elephant in the room for the few folks here who are open-minded about the most important health decision one makes every single day of their life, a decision that likely won't seem important until they are in the back third of their life.

This is why I take lifespan and longevity studies very seriously, and give little weight to short-term studies rife with reductionism and agenda. You can't fake a 102 year old.

Bottomline, when people are competing in the most important competition of all -- LIFE --- the competition of longevity and lifespan, the plant-based way of eating (not fake meat and vegan Oreos) is always there, but blissfully ignored. I stopped ignoring it about 5 years ago and never felt better.

I am getting more and more disillusioned with the medical industry every day it seems.

After the COVID BS, you're truly on your own. I trust my wife (with a nursing degree, not an MD) more than some medical doctor whose first inclination is to put you on drugs and tow the mainstream narratives, instead of addressing true underlying causes.

He’s taking 104 pills a day and hair growth treatment lol

Yea, he's on a mission to the point of fanaticism.

I don’t know much about it. I need to eat more veggies for sure. My great grandmother lived to be 98 though, so if there is a genetic component, I have that.

Relaxation and stress definitely play a role. Same with physical activity. Being in a desk job or doing something like roofing for 40 years will really take a toll on your body, I’m sure.

Leisurely strolls on the beach probably do wonders for the mind, body, and psychological well-being.

Great grandma was doing water aerobics even at 98. She said people die when they give up - when they stop doing things, going out, meeting people, etc

Put it in rant here since nothing else seems fit. For those interested in investment.

Chinese equity could have a bull market in 2023.
-China in rate reduction cycle unlike U.S. in rate hike cycle.
-Just started opening up from the pandemic with 80% herd immunity obtained
-2007/8, 2014/15.....Rumored to be a 7 years once event for Chinese equity bull market.
-RMB gaining strength, could attract foreign investors
-Valuation low at the moment, recovered from a bottom in November 2022.
-As China shifts from zero-covid to maximum economic growth...a bullish catalyst imo.

My two cents on the Blue Zones debate:

Around the year 1900, the french physician Rene Quinton developed treatments using sea water for a wide variety of conditions.
René_Quinton_1908.jpg
René Joseph Quinton (1866–1925) was a French biologist, aviation pioneer and decorated World War I soldier.

Sérum de Quinton

Quinton-babies.png
M. René Quinton and Louis Barthou Issy-les-Moulineaux, September 7th, 1908
Quinton’s theories led him to conclude “that Seawater is the "vital liquid" of all living beings and the means of curing all kinds of disease”.[9] He imagined subcutaneous seawater injections as a therapeutic treatment.[10]

In 1907, Quinton patented the sérum de Quinton (Quinton serum). He described it as seawater harvested from the Atlantic, in specific areas where he considered the water “pure” and with special precautions. The harvest was then immediately transported to Paris where it was sterilized without boiling or chemical products, brought to a specific saline concentration, and stored in vials. With this patented technique, the serum was comparable, according to Quinton, to blood. As such, it could be used to treat the following conditions: enteritis, constipation, diarrhea, colitis, newborn gastroenteritis, lactose intolerance, athrepsia, and skin conditions. It was also presented as a prenatal treatment to prevent the future baby(ies) from developing tuberculosis, syphilis or malaria, and to help expecting mothers with nausea.[11]

He proceeded to open and fund Parisian dispensaries, reserved for destitute patients, to treat, at no charge, these conditions.[9]

Captura de pantalla 2023-01-27 a la(s) 14.27.25.png

These treatments were reported, at the time, to be very successful and with no side effects.[9] However, they have since been abandoned by medicine and removed from the Vidal dictionary, the French dictionary that catalogs medications and dietary supplements. Today, Quinton serum continues to be sold by Quinton Laboratory as personal and hygiene products, not medicine, in the form of drinkable vials or nasal sprays.[12]

I'm realising action and recent positive results coming from the action organically creating efficient habits matters 10x more than mindset. I spent so long working on mindset and sure I'm more stress free (in all but financial ways) and relaxed/happier but I should've just jumped into action driven by my why and dealt with the rest later. It really highlights what MJ says in one of his books about intelligence not necessarily correlating with success - a naive narcissistic 15 year old can have better results than a 25 year old who understands how to overcome negative thought patterns and actually navigate the world, ha.

I had a horrible mindset a decade ago, I thought I'd be dead by 21 and felt depressed almost daily, but because I'd taken action for years driven by my why (literally just to move out and be free), it started to accumulate into habits that easily provided results. I guess I'm just frustrated that though my past experiences is useful to show me you can 10-100x your money through entrepreneurship, if you spend too much time in your own head not taking action, you kinda have to go back a few steps to that stage of messing around and trying stuff just to try find what are good habits/task that provide results for your skillset and what isn't worth it.

I wish mindset was the trick the gurus say, cuz when I was depressed and didn't see a future beyond a couple of years I paradoxically was creating a future I want to live in, and whilst I've learnt to visualize my ideal future and look after my mental health I ignored taking actual steps that will create it.

I guess being back here's one thing.

A company offered me to write on their website (for free).

I accept, tell them my only two conditions are do-follow links in the writer's bio and at the end of the articles.

Their answer: you have to pay $30 per month for that.

My answer: *clown emoji*
