I vaguely remember a thread about someone who had a food business and wanted to expand it, but I don't think it's what you're looking for, if I recall correctly the OP didn't take any of the advice given and it all fizzled out.

Oh, and wasn't there something about starting a food business in some book other other? I forget who wrote it now. Had some whacky title like "The Big Mouse Trap Release" or something. Probably also not the one you're thinking of. :)

The trotmans start their food business in the Great Rat Escape by MJ. Lol

Good day @MJ DeMarco !
I've reached out about this problem long ago on the 'contact us' page, however, I assume I have to confirm my ticket on my e-mail account (to which I don't have access to).
And that brings us to my problem; I lost my e-mail password which is connected to this account.
In simple words, if my PC dies once or Chrome randomly decides to reset itself, I will have lost my account.
So I wanted to ask, if an admin were able to change/swap my e-mail?
I'm sorry if I'm bothering you with this, but I don't know how to fix this any other way...

I created my account with this automated google feature and don't have a password...

Try again, I added a password, which is your email address (that doesn't work.)

I saw a YT video about 10 films that were made with very low budgets, but had great box-office returns. To see what kinds of movies were the best gamble for outsized returns I categorized them by plot. 50% of them were about young people finding their True Loves. In case you ever plan to make an indie film:

Young True Love:
The Fault in Our Stars = Terminally-ill teenagers fall in love.
High School Musical = Boy athlete and girl nerd romance disrupts High School hierarchy.
Love Story = Star-crossed teen-age lovers.
Slumdog Millionaire = A boy overcomes struggles to be with his true love.
Magic Mike = Male-stripper has to choose between profession and his true love.

Performance:
The King's Speech = New King much perform speech to save country but has speech impediment.
Pitch Perfect = Teen girls battle teen boys in singing competition.

Action:
Mad Max = Policeman in apocalyptic world avenges the deaths of his partner, wife, and child.
One Cut of the Dead = Zombie movie film crew attacked by real zombies.

Class Warfare:
Parasite = Class warfare between rich and poor families.

I visited Temu.com since the chatter and talk around it on online forums is getting louder. Even non-techie american housewives are starting to get wind of this site. Free shipping on all orders + free returns within 90 days + all that goodies in this high inflation era. Try beating that with your eCom store. This is the site where sellers go all in, bat-shit crazy on Alibaba products. They are selling the same things as Amazon, only cheaper and better. Amazon is going to be F*cked sooner or later. This is also why most of the threads here nowadays are about "freelancing" and starting "agencies" lol, because the golden age of eCom is over (RIP 2011 - 2018). The market will consolidate into a few major players. Taking a product from Alibaba, private labeling it and making a couple small changes to it, is so 2017s. This is the Age of Platforms with several billions to burn weekly.

I kept meaning to do this and just did now thanks to your reminder.

This site is wild. It's like a better organized, more English-centric Ali-Express. I found the same "quick dry" bathroom matt my wife sent me a link to the other day from an ad she saw.

The ad's price - $68.95
Temu's price, with free shipping - $11.58

I'm sure people will still make money doing private label "China arbitrage" but it's going to be a lot harder once people learn to just check Temu first.

(That said, I obviously haven't placed an order yet, so I don't know for sure how smoothly any of this works).

Lol, I just spotted something I recently bought on Amazon for about 300% more. Thanks for the share.

Everyone kept saying that the internet was going to "democratize" business and everyone would have an online store, yadda yadda...

No, I always thought, it would do the opposite. Instead of every small town having room for a downtown or main street of little independent stores or shops, you have one place to go online and consolidate millions, or billions, of eyeballs into all of the sales.

It's pretty much the opposite of what everyone said. Maybe I'm wrong? I hope so. Getting web traffic isn't my forte so that could be why I have this perspective (I'm more of an offline guy)

What’s your point? They’re not supposed to be doing smart things? I trust you were saying this with good intentions and hope it wasn’t to put women down

And in many other posts you speak of women as objects, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was derogatory

Try this. If you can't then it could be because the thread is too old. In which case PM me and I'll change it for you.

Democracy means people get to choose what they want.
Capitalism means anyone can buy and sell with complete freedom.

If everyone had their shitty online store and no giant entity would be allowed to exist, that's called socialism and it doesn't work.

Every time you try to enforce equality of outcome, you limit the people that can do more, and enable lazy and stupid people to remain lazy and stupid. As a result, the products being sold are inferior in quality and everybody suffers.

Online commerce is pure capitalism and democracy.

The fact that 80% of the money is being made by only 5 companies is a result of the Pareto principle. All human societies in our history have had massive inequality built in. The top 1% gets at least half of the cake.

This is not a result of capitalism. It's because the more you win the more opportunities you get, the more you will be able to win again.

And you should have the freedom to win.

Another noob question from me regarding digital marketing agencies:
Can you work for somebody that's not in your area? In another state? Country? Continent? Like, can it happen fully digitally?
Would help me out, thanks!

edit: I think I'm about to just go YOLO with a digital marketing agency. I just have another question:
I'm about to create a new gmail account and I wondered if I should just use my [NAME-LAST NAME]
or create a fancy name for the agency? I think I'd opt for the real name (especially since I haven't even registered the company yet). In the end, if they ask me for my name or we call each other, it's gonna be said anyways.

I wasn’t taking a “how it should be” stance really, just how it would end up

Subsidiary of Pinduoduo, who is both famous and infamous for selling at extremely cheap price together with quite a lot of complaints about quality issues.

PDD is targeted at poor people in China who can buy a pair of scissors for one rmb. Not sure if Temu is adopting the same strategy as the parent company.

Sure, you can.

My main concern would be on the other different state/country's advertising laws (e.g. privacy and modesty), language barriers (English in a different country DOES have its unique quirks...) and their social media platform of choice.

Take some time to ask your client more about THEIR target market-- it will also be your market to serve too,
besides your own client.

If you plan to do the marketing agency solo (even temporarily) and you are OK with using your personal values and strengths as an attraction point for clients...its OK to use your own name.

See Chris Orzechewski...he still runs his email marketing agency, aptly named 'Orzy Media'.
While its not a full copy of his name, it is still a quick abbreviation of it.

Check out the book Micro-Script Rules on the Dominant Selling Idea concept, if you still want to look for more name ideas that click with your target clients.

Has anyone’s battery power duration gone to shit since updating to the new iPhone iOS? My battery would last all day even in heavy use, now I can barely make it to 6pm. Wife reported the same battery issue of reduced longevity, all compliments of a new software update.

Well that explains it. Yes I would say so. I updated a few days ago and have had to charge my phone most days to make it through without even really using it.
