Sup. Somebody asked for an input on ideas in green industry, I have an idea I personally need/wanted to do myself, but have no desire to do it as it involves bureaucracy, managing employees and skills I don't necessarily possess:
In ireland, electric scooters and e-bikes are becoming popular (in all Europe, really). I see at least 50% of small vehicles being electric. However, my e-scooter can't reach into all places of my city AND return (Dublin - it's pretty big - I ride 25 minutes one way atm).
We need electric scooter charging stations on every bike locking point. Basically plugs that can charge an e-bike (and also lock the charger securely so that nobody steals it!)
It's a simple idea and but it's pretty burdensome:
Somebody could be up to do it! Requires minimal startup capital (buy a 3d printer, an extension, a point of sale device, a few solenoid locks) and that's it... But only if you want to do it.

- For one, you need an electrician (or at least an electrical mate? to install all of the charging stations, which is some cost upfront.
- Second, you don't make much from it. One charging station can bring 2-3$/day maybe? Assuming it costs 50c for a kWh to charge a scooter 0-1. Let's put it this way - I make 200-300EUR a day as a self-employed window cleaner, whereas a software eng makes 500-600. Worth your time? Maybe, if you install 500 of them.
- Third, you need to speak to nearby shops that you can take electricity from. Well, and that's a lot of going around.
- Fourth, if they break, you need to hire electrcians... I guess.
