A lot of people think they work hard but they really don't. Not even close.
I could be doing a lot more than I'm doing right now.
Out work, out hustle, out perform. (I usually yell this to myself when my alarm goes off at 4am... oh well, that and 'get up you lazy **** **** ***'
)
On average, by the time most people wake up, I've already been hard at work for 1-2 hours. I'm first in, and last one out.
Of course, you can't (or at least shouldn't... of course you can, you can do anything) be super psycho about it. You have to live too.
I've worked a job for about 6 months now. I'm the highest paid employee within the organization (besides the boss). I earn 10% more than people that have been with the company for a decade. I've had 6 raises over a six month time frame. How?
I ask for more responsibility. I crave it. Doesn't matter if I'm scared shitless (which I usually am.. everything scares me). I ask anyway. When one task is done, I ask for another. I offer to work overtime. I work weekends. I work 6 days a week on average. Sometimes I work ten days in a row... did I mention I'm also a student? 25 hrs a week in the classroom, by september I expect that number to increase. I plan on finishing a 4 year degree in 3 years or less.
My bank gave me 2 complimentary safe deposit boxes today... I've been with this bank since May. I've also been given free atm withdrawals from any country in the world (lol) Why then give me free things? I have a lot of cash just sitting in my accounts. (I have 5). According to the account manager, this account is only offered for people with at least $25k average monthly balance... I'm proud to say I have more than that in there. I worked bloody hard for what I have so far. It's been worth it. Made significantly more in the last month than in the entire rest of my life combined (is that english? lol)
You can come a long way in a short period of time if you have the drive. A year ago (almost to the day!) I was suicidal and had $1.25 in my bank account. Now I have 5 bank accounts, and have a realistic shot of reaching $100k networth by my 21st birthday. (I just turned 20.) In a month or so, I've effectively tripled my networth. From my 19th to my 20th birthday my networth has increased by around 40,000%... not hard when you only have a dollar to work with. (I think... still not sure how to calculate returns haha) Using this formula it says I have an ROI of around 4,000,000%... ((Return - Capital) / Capital) × 100% = Rate of Return. I doubt that I calculated right.
This really only applies to the younger people here, as I feel those are to whom I can relate with most. You're probably lazy. Shut up about your stupid ideas and do something. Writing on a forum is not doing something. Bringing a product to market, or getting a job is doing something.
This is the time of your life when you can out work anyone, at anything. You fail, so what, you haven't anything to lose! I live in a bedroom the size of a jail cell, in the ghetto (well, the closest thing to a ghetto you could find in Canada lol). I have enough to cover all my expenses for the next 5 years while I'm getting my degree(s)... but I'm going to work anyway (on top of building my business). Before I graduate my goal is a million networth minimum.
I see how the people around me are lazy, unhealthy, sad, depressed, live above their means, heavily in debt. They have allowed life to defeat them. They are zombies to the system. They really have no future. I never want to have to say that I can't afford something, or that an opportunity is beyond my capabilities. I never want an opportunity to pass me by because I was afraid to take that one action that would make all the difference. I want to buy my mother a home and a car. I want her to never have to work again in her entire life. Even if I make a million before I graduate (I will), I'm going to finish my degree anyway. My mother worked so hard as a single mother and raised me for 18 years. Her goal is to see me graduate... that's the least I could do.
I won't be stopped.. and I'll never quit. For university, I'll except nothing less than 90% accross the board. From day one my presence will be known in each and every class. I sit in the front. Everyone else sits in the back. I plan to be a leader, so this is fine with me.
Ps: More than likely I won't be posting on here for quite a while (think MONTHS, maybe a year or more). I'll check back every so often to see when the B&P registration is up.
I'm done talking about what I'm going to do. (like a lot of people on here). I'm far too busy just doing it... and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Remember fellow young people: Shut the **** up and keep your nose to the grindstone. Nobody cares about what you're 'going to do' or what you 'want to do'. People only care about what you can do for them. And typically your past results will speak for themselves.
I have investors lined up for my next project. There are 3 related industries that I'm about to completely take over. (passive income sources for the most part). Not saying what they are, but you better believe I'm going to brag about it when the dust settles and I'm left standing on top of the mountain haha.
I'm not out to invent the next big thing. I'm just going to do what thousands of self made millionaires have done before... It doesn't seem that difficult when you think about it..
The formula is simple. Live below your means, invest as much as you can into income producing assets. Reinvest profits, and use built up equity to finance new projects. Find investors as well. Now, it ain't 'fastlane'. But it's my way. It's what motivates me to get up in the morning... well, women in thongs and ferraris do that as well... but that doesn't sound quite as inspiring when I read it aloud hahahaha.
Cheers.
