Hello all, my name is Marlon and I’m new to the forum and MJ DeMarco’s books has 100% given me a different perspective on how to approach business.
I migrated to the US in 2008 I was 20 years old from Guyana. I am currently a Finance and Insurance manager at a Toyota dealership.
I always aspired to be an entrepreneur because I grew up in poverty and it was a none stop battle to get out.
I do not want the life I once endured for my kids and I strongly believe that it is my duty to provide generational wealth for my family and future generations. However I want to be able to enjoy quality time with them so I don’t miss their younger years or any.
My kids are currently 9 and 6 years old. I started making six figures in 2017 and bought my first multi family property which me and my wife house hacked.
While making this income I took on some other investments with friends and family that I failed at because my approach was not as recommend in Escape the Rat Race it was based on pure emotion and not math.
I’ve been investing since and failed at a few other ventures until I started my self development journey in 2022 and been on a none stop reading(anudiobooks) exhibition.
I have learned a lot while reading and I continue to learn a lot and I have also spent money on courses as well chasing the wealth strategy.
Recently I acquired a few other properties that’s cash flows small amounts but I do intend on continuing down the real estate road since I’ve always found that there will always be a need for housing.
I look forward to learning from the wealth of knowledge in this community and hope to contribute as well.
