I have created 2 unique items that I really want to do a marketing push for, however I am hitting a wall. 1 is an Android app, the other is a Chrome plug-in.



What I've tried:

-CPM advertising via facebook turned out to be a huge waste of time. I used the CPM method for the plug-in but did not try for the app. I ended up getting 0 clicks!

-CPC advertising I immediately saw as being ineffective. There is no way I'm paying $1+ per click for something I am giving away for free

- Forum advertising has gotten me very little success and I have blanketed about 7 forums. I usually only average about 2-3 downloads per day via forum advertising.




I'm getting really frustrated since I don't know what to do to make these get more downloads. I have looked at PPI affiliate networks but I have heard VERY bad things about them.


I have no problem spending $, I just don't know what the best route would be for me!
