Haven't really been doing this very much this year, but I'm following the Rule of 100 as far as posting goes.I've had LinkedIn for a while. I'm pretty sure I created my account back in 2019? Not sure exactly when, but it was when people started talking about "getting serious in their career" and "posting their resume so they can get a good job".
Here's mine: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomaskale/
I'm going to start utilizing LinkedIn in 2025. I never really considered it until reading threads like this.
100 days of posting, Monday-Saturday. (I don't like working on Sundays. There are more pressing matters and LinkedIn can wait.)
I'm on day 3. September 1st is day 100. I'll come back and share results throughout.
I've talked to a couple guys I know personally who post on LinkedIn. One of them said that he basically posted every day and it took him most of a year (maybe 8-9 months) before he started gaining traction.
Other people I see talk about posting 3 times a week, or 4 times, or every day, or only once a week. C'mon people, what the hell is the actual answer?
One thing that they all have in common is simply consistency.
In the spirit of Johnny Boy, I've basically just had to say "f*ck it" and decide I'm posting every day. Will it work? Will it be the super-secret, special posting pattern mentioned by the 1000s of gurus on LinkedIn that will get me a gazillion connections? I have no clue, I'm on day 3!
Anyway, sometimes I love LinkedIn, sometimes it makes me cringe so hard. I just discovered the term "LinkIn-fluencers", and it makes me want to take a long walk off a short pier. It's very obvious who on LinkedIn is worth following and who isn't. A big tell is if their posts are clearly written by AI.
