Hi ,

Glad to join yall.

You can call me 'E'. I currently live in the Houston area.

My thread title is the two words I dream of telling my employer: I Quit. And it'll happen soon.

I read the Millionaire Fastlane and Unscripted a couple years ago. But like all my other 100+ books, I tossed it to the side and went about my life because self-doubts.

But today something different happened.

Something memorable.

Nah, I'm joking. It was a regular day. Work f'n sucked (I'm a software tester).

Fa real though, a consistent contributor of the Fastlane Forum told everyone in our FB group about a previous post he wrote several years ago. And that helped me remember how great of a group yall are.

So here I am again. :)

I'll grab those two books from my bookshelf and read through Unscripted . Maybe Millionaire Fastlane too.

The reason I'm still in this crappy situation is mostly related to my consistency issues.

The past few weeks I've been working on that by lifting weights everyday. Also journaling.

We'll get there though. Fa real.

Anyways, enough about me. If you wanna know more though, please feel free to send me a message.

Happy trails!

Welcome E. Lifting is a great start. There's a strong parallel between the strength of character needed to keep getting under the bar, and the strength to keep going at business after each inevitable failure.

You've got a way with words E.

Thought I was gonna get an "I Quit" story.. but didn't.

But then you pulled me back in for something memorable.

And crushed my hopes again.

With this powerful ability to tell stories and spin words.... you'll go far. You just need something to sell!

Hey Amp!

I didn’t mean to crush your hopes, man haha. But thank you for the kind words, for sure. You’re right, I do need something to sell and I’m working on that now. :)

Welcome!!!
So what are your plans from here on?
Hi BlackMagician,

I’ve been working on my copywriting skills and learning sales fundamentals.

So I’d like to put those skills to test by creating an eCom store.

At the same time, I know running an eCom store could be expensive in terms of running paid ads.

To start, I’m trying to land my first copywriting client to do a bit of freelancing. Just to increase my income.

While I do that, build my store. (Build a brand). So many opportunities to choose lol.

These past years I’ve been hit with the shiny object syndrome. We know that shit doesn’t fly.

So there’s that in a nutshell. :)

Thanks! And yes I’ll start a progress thread to keep y’all updated (and help me with accountability).

So, I have a heavy tech background too and I was one to avoid anything that smelled like ‘sales’ lol.

But what I can suggest as sales fundamentals that’s helping me is :

(1) get used to hearing ‘no’ and being rejected.

(2)ask questions to get to know what your ideal client wants and his ‘why’. That way, you’re not trying to ‘force’ someone to buy something because YOU might think they want it.

(2) Get that Cashvertising book. It’s a fun read and helps a lot with the fundamentals.

Right now I’ve been pushing myself to cold email local businesses.

I hope this helps you.

Don't get me wrong, more than making the money - it is who you are becoming in those 15 days :).
