Hello!
I have an idea for a product, I created a landing page, have some 3d renders but... I can't advertise it on facebook [or google], due to dumb policies regarding advertising weapons / multitools / knives.
Does anyone has any idea how multitool / knife companies advertise to the general public?
I know I could verify idea by going to some multiool groups, but I know for a fact, that other companies hang around these, and I don't want to get my product in there before I protect my design patent. I can do that before but that would easily 10x my cost of product idea verification.
Any ideas / tips on how to approach this?
My facebook ad was actually doing pretty well for the few hours it was live until they blocked my ads; ))

I'd advertise in a specialty forum, like a forum for militias, woodworkers, hunters, and other "manly" type of places.

As MJ said.

Find groups and watering holes where your target market hangs out.

Make friends, build relationships, ask if anyone is interested in XYZ.

Maybe this might help:

Thanks for the responses, guys!
This is not so "manly" product ;)) but I get what you're saying!
I know where they hang out, it's just I'm afraid that one of the producers of similar items that hang out there will just snatch it. But I guess there's no other option, except for getting a design patent first.

I would try influencer marketing. Its very effective and not very expensive. As well as I don't think Pinterest or tiktok have an issue with advertising tools. So you could try those sites. But I definitely think you should go with influencer marketing.

This is just to test the product. If I launch it - yes, of course, that's exactly what I'm planning on doing :)
