My name's Elliot, I'm 18 from NY I first read TMF in the summer of 2024, which completely changed my life. I've seen the Fastlane Forum thrown around whenever I'd frequently come back to the book I didn’t truly start executing until now.
I've been consistent for almost a month now and I've honestly been feeling pretty alone lol, that's why I'm here, to be with like-minded people!
A couple of months ago when I used to dorm in college, I was sitting alone in an empty hall watching MHA when a senior who was walking around came up to me and befriended me. When I told him that I was going to major in business management to become an entrepreneur, he said, “Dude, why are you waiting until college to be an entrepreneur? Just do it now. That degree isn’t going to do anything for you.” Then he walked away. It hurt a little, but I knew damn well he was right. I was spending my campus-life the same way everyone else did: hanging out with friends, wasting free-time by going on IG Reels or watching anime, and occasional meaningless sex. My friends were perfectly fine with treating their life this way. But I was honestly depressed with my life and I even felt suicidal most times; I want to retire at 25, they want to retire in 50 years! This life path didn't even converge with my purpose. I also made the mistake of “preparing” by learning Python and building practice projects until I felt “ready.” OMG I even made a small Youtube clone that I never ended up using. Thankfully, I realized this mistake early on in January and haven't "prepared" since!
Fast forward a couple of months, and here we are! I now spend the majority of my time working on my brand, if not reading books (including skimming TMF time-to-time to re-inforce my beliefs 😀 ).
I made the stupid mistake of not spending time executing during Sundays, which I’ll fix. I’ve cut off all the friends I made during college because it was honestly brainwashing to be around people who waste their free-time playing Minecraft to escape their problems.
At first, I was going to do web design and development, but let's be real, a website nowadays only helps businesses in the long-term if it's apart of a marketing plan. So I shifted my focus towards lead generation.
Since the last week of January, I've consistently cold-called hundreds of small businesses, with the goal of building them a free website in exchange for feedback and results, for 4 hours a day at most.
I chose cold-outreach as my primary way of marketing since:
Last week, I decided to narrow my target niche to something more professional; not only because I was tired of another no-show, but because I also want to work with a niche that I can get a proper ROI from. I knew that if I kept making websites for random small businesses that obviously couldn't afford them in the future, I'd become a free website guy. With a bit of help from Armand Farrokh's Cold Calling Sucks book (seriously a good read btw if you want to get good at outreach) I fixed my script so I didn't sound like another web design kid, although I will admit I still got some work to do lol.
While I'm not going to say which niche I'm targeting in particular, I'm doing it with the goal of helping them convert their Google traffic into booked clients (fancy way of saying getting them more leads).
I'm going to do this by renovating their website with the purpose of influencing the customer to book an appointment with them, basically maximizing their conversion rate. I chose them in particular since I've noticed a common pattern of people in that niche wasting money on marketing and getting no outcome from it. I actually booked a meeting with someone from that niche, she explained to me that they wasted $1,000 on pay-per-lead landing-page that looked pretty, but didn't convert. The leads that did go though were fake. When I heard that, I honestly felt bad for her. Made me realize, if that happened to her, there are likely thousands of people in that niche going through the same problem, I want to prevent people from wasting their money on "pretty" websites that relieve short-term problems, but hurt customers long-term since they don't convert.
Really excited to be in this forum, you guys are awesome, love you guys <3

- It was outside of my comfort zone
- I'm flat broke.
