I've had a really tough 2018, from a number of things happening rather unexpected and around the same time, both in my professional life with my businesses and with my personal life.
I feel like for the most part I did a really good job coping with the stress and turn of events- I completed a full distance Ironman back in April, and I feel at that point I felt the best I've felt in a very long time.
But, over the last month and a half I feel as though my mental and emotional health has taken a steady decline- more events have unfolded in the last weeks, and it's nearing the 1 year anniversary of my mother's suicide which is having more of an effect on me than I thought it would. I am finding myself in a mental slump that I desperately want to get out of.
I am trying to get back on track- I am trying to get back into a regular workout routine, I've quit eating fast food, I am also trying to get up before dawn everyday (where as the last few weeks I've been struggling to get up before 9am).
I was hoping some of y'all may have some advice? Or anyone who has been in a mental slump, how you've gotten out of it? How did you kick yourself into gear and do the work that you know you are capable of and have been capable of in the past? I've always been the person who can work from 6am-12am everyday with no issues, but now I am struggling to put even 25% of that effort into my day.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
