@Get Right This reminds me of when my wife and I were at the Luxor in Vegas.
I always paid the resort fees but this time my wife and I agreed to see if we can save a couple hundred bucks.
As we were checking out we were talking to the front desk manager for about 20 minutes and he finally let us go by making us only pay HALF the resort fees and 2 free buffets.
When we get to the buffet, the line was 100+ people in general, but the one for Nior and Plat members completely empty. (lightbulb)
I took my wife by the hand and went into the vip line and very carefully walked past EVERYONE IN LINE AS THEY WERE STARING AT US and told the lady upfront that we spoke to the manager and said that they need to call front desk to confirm that we got the free buffets(they didn't need to call the front desk).
And after the back and fourth calls we were in! Ate our food, and left. We would have still been in the middle of the line by that time.
Oh the power of asking and "knowing" someone.
