Oh Lawd. No, why would I be furious about people owning land? They pay their taxes, the local government gets paid, all is well. It lends way to the whole leasing industry, a service is provided, a value, everybody wins. A business can deduct the cost of rent as well. Everybody's happy. With land speculation (wait till a developer comes along) it's an expected cost of doing business, if speculation was eliminated, municipalities can't collect tax "location location location" buying prime real estate on 5th Avenue for example is expensive but the business in this case is location-dependent. Good old supply and demand at work here with people speculating in the FREE MARKET. With goobers like you. There is no value or market. Nothing unique, legit, or remotely interesting about what you do. It's all whack a mole, buy shit and see what sticks, no market dynamics. Just hope and pray that somebody that exhausted their search of a brand finds your domain and pay you holding that domain hostage. Homey, you can try to justify it in your mind all you want. Your business is shit. It's not even close to "owning land lots." I really hope you're infringing on somebody right now unknowingly and are dragged through a messy legal battle. Lol. Git rekt. Srsly. Tell us more, Mein Moral Fuhrer.

A lot of what you are saying about land. Can be said about domain names too. People can own domain name businesses. Invest, and pay taxes and stuff. Anyhow. I'm done arguing about this. As nothing good will come out of it.

This is just one of those cases where it would have just been better to not start the thread. Just like the Ra-ra gurus that you are putting down because you don't think they practice what they preach, you are doing exactly the same.

I may do the same somehow. But I have nothing to sell. And that is the difference between the Ra-Ra and me.

About the cash-flow stuff and if it is sellable. Michael Mann started a domain broker business. Which I think he sold for something like $70 million.

Yeah. It's like being a porn producer and running a porn web site. Two different ball games. But it doesn't change the fact, that both are involved with porn. Like in the case i mention. They are both involved in the domain name industry.

I'm just F*cking tired of arguing with you guys.

Most of you seem to nitpick on something I write... and then it's... "No not like that, not like this, what have you done to be able to blablabla" ... and it's always like this, kind of a defensive attitude around here. Instead of just having conversations.

Your intention with this thread was good:
1. Get motivated by helping, rather than getting rich
2. Listen to people who are in the trenches - not the once who are "earning money teaching how to earn money"

But still your response are revealing that your mindset is completely different.

Start looking at yourself, instead of thinking that everyone is agains you:
1. Why aren`t others threads escalate into arguments ?
2. Why is the other members with far less post and a lot more thanks/likes and rep ?

I am sure your feelings got hurt, since your message was great, and it got another response than expected.
But if you can`t handle this with a positive mindset in this thread, I am scared to think about how you would handle a bad customer or other negative challenges in your future business.

We are here to provide value, first of all. It is no argument unless you make it one..

Yeah. I get it. I am not really butt hurt. Just surprised, that so many people here. Are against domain name investing. But I can take it. For sure.

Btw, I kind of knew my topic was a controversial one. So, I hesitated to write it. But it is what it is now.

The irony here is that you started this thread about running "a real TANGIBLE business, And by this, can be respected by people who are grounded too. Those who doesn't just do it for the money. But "how you make" it too." Your words. And yet your business is domain investing?

I don't think that owning domains is wrong or bad. But does a business like this cashflow? Is it stable and sellable?
