Hey everyone, looking for feedback on my plan. I’m 17 and have been running a dog walking business since July. Made about $20K CAD profit and saved around $20K CAD. Worked minimum wage jobs before for a year. At my peak, I was making $3K/month CAD while in high school from only dog walking. I’m now scaling it back to $1K/month CAD so I can focus on building a marketing agency.
In January I tested the restaurant niche (content creation + social media management). Did 40+ in-person outreaches and 3 free shoots. Everyone loved the work, but no one converted. I noticed a pattern, low margins and small marketing budgets. After doing research, I pivoted to renovation companies. Higher ticket jobs, better margins, bigger budgets. I studied websites, forums, and Facebook groups and tailored my offer specifically around the main problems and pain points in the renovation niche.
My offer is generating qualified renovation appointments using Facebook ads + booking automation, specially with Go High Level. I have spent thousands before on my dog walking business to generate leads so I know Facebook ads decently enough.
Plan: • 50 cold calls per day (Mon–Fri)
• 30 emails + 20 Instagram DMs daily
• Funnel: cold outreach → discovery call → sales call
• Fully online, targeting businesses across my province (Canada)
I have $20K CAD saved and low expenses, live at home, so I can commit long-term and cut dog walking to a minimum now. Wondering what you think of this plan and if I am making a good call cutting out short time consuming hustle cash from dog walking all the time for potentially long term momentum and leverage from putting in the work and hours in the agency now. Also still in high school and going to my local college for a business diploma next year.
