Also, thank you so much for the advice of getting the logo engraved on the products. Its a little expensive but people definitely trust the brand a lot more than they used to and sales have increased as a result.

I'll just add this suggestion. I believe you're trying to have your own product manufactured...if it's a plastic part, you can have the logo/name put into the mold so that it's molded into the plastic. Then you don't have the additional cost/time in engraving each unit. There is probably an upfront cost associated with the tooling change, so do the math and see if it's cost justified. It can be a considerable cost savings!

I'll just add this suggestion. I dropped out of college when I was 19ish and said F*ck it, I wasnt doing what you were doing at 18 I was going through my mental masturbation stage. I knew that college was flawed and the path that you "should follow" is skewed. Societies perception of success and what is possible for you is completely falsified and the only thing perpetuating the cycle is the masses beliefs that are repeated to them from generation to generation and when it comes to older adults (parents) they dont understand reality has shifted and that there are other options because of the internet.

You are a prime example of what is possible with discipline, action, and study. The floodgates are open when it comes to finding information and creating a business or multiple streams of income and thats because of forums and websites like this one (thanks @MJ DeMarco ).

All you need to do is allocate the time and sacrifice to make it happen. Work the 9-5 and come home and work the 6-2 and then get up at 6 to study and repeat. There is no secret. It's just work and its awesome that you're making it happen so young.

Watch for those who don't clap - You'll notice alot of people you thought were your friends dont like the fact that you're seeing success. Distance yourself from them and put yourself in situations where you can find like minded people.

Terrific thread. Liked and watched. Very inspiring stuff going on here. You're 18, business focused, and primed to create value in this world. Kids your age prefer parties, binge watching anime, purchasing designer clothes, liking cat videos on Facebook, etc.

You're an outlier man, you remind so much of Bill Gates. Instead of leading a normal life, you're locked in your room working hard for an outcome. You're consistently striving to achieve your goals. You're putting in 10,000+ hours while others are failing to take action and just do.

Dude F*ck school, if its not being paid for by your parents or you dont have FULL scholarships I wouldnt go in your spot (you really have an opportunity here to set yourself up for the rest of your life). Id grow your brand to 1M over the next 1-2 years and pump your profits into real estate. You get 10 duplexs that cash flow $500/mo you're going to passively make more than all the grads + you'll have the income off your business to live on as well.

The Real Wealth Formula

The idea is that you use fastlane business 1 (e-commerce) to build and scale a real estate company that will eventually grow itself. Once you can get your real estate to a point where it can sustain and grow itself you're free to pay yourself profits for the rest of your life. Because you have control, time, need, entry, and scale locked down and in your possession.

Say it costs 30k to buy a duplex. and you're making $500/mo off 10 properties you can buy a new property every 6 months with the cash flow that your properties are producing. These numbers are not actual, but the principles are. As you gain more properties in your system the timeline shortens and the number of properties/units scales creating a snowball effect

The system is the same but the scale is different for people like you and me.

Use the success and financial growth your seeing now to literally retire at 27/28/29 while everyone is settling into their 50k/year career.

If you have the capital and a sustainable business, real estate is definitely the way to go. If you invest right you can retire in a few years and just live life man. Idk much though, just speaking on things I've read/seen.

So jealous lol, but congrats on the success and keep striving.

A word of advice, if you're not in a relationship, don't get in one right now. I've been in one for the past two years and it can take so much mental space especially when things aren't working out.

For sure man, it's just important to realize that the majority of all e-commerce businesses are high cash flow and high risk. There is no security or hard asset backing it unless you have a massive brand that becomes an asset over time. Otherwise your brand can get crushed, become invalid, etc... You need to offset that risk with something that provides more security through hard assets, moderate cash flow, with the principles of Mj's commandments. I think real estate is the best method for that because over time the size of the real estate you can buy becomes high cash flow (like e-commerce) so you get the best of all worlds.

High cash flow, Security in hard assets, high barrier to entry = Security + Wealth

And these are my beliefs - most people wont agree because you're literally going to sacrifice all the money your making from business 1 (which is everyone's goal) to create another company thats going to take alot of time, money, and energy. But me and you are very similar in age and we have time and energy and I think it would benefit you to consider it.

I'd recommend taking 1-2 years of reading about REI and concentrating on your business. You are 18 and don't want to squander any of that hard earned money in REI just yet. Use your business to make money and REI to preserve and grow it.

Keep up the awesome job! Thinking outside the box is always subject to ridicules. Sacrifice is where it's at. It paid off and with proper planning and investing you should be well on your way to a life time achiever creating the economic structure needed for growth in this country. A wise person once told me not to keep all my eggs in one basket. If you trip and fall you will end up with nothing except scrambled eggs! The better my business did, the more checked out I became at my full-time job. By the end, my business was doing so well, and I was doing so poorly at work, that my boss asked me to put in my resignation.

More than anything, it was a mental thing. The less I needed to rely on the job's income, the less I cared about it, and the poorer my performance was as a result. By the end, the job was this annoying distraction that was just getting in the way of what I really needed to be working on.

Thank you both for your insights. I will continue to grow and expand my shop but in the mean time attend meetups/learn about REI. Once my store starts producing investable money, I will then begin REI. Its now on my radar and by the time I start, my ecommerce store wont be so cash intensive.

Would love to learn more about how you are trying to find suppliers in the US? I am just starting the process and have been in contact with suppliers in China. Eventually, I would like to move back to the US if it financially makes sense.

Right now im just googling people that are near my location (<hour). There is one manufacture that is literally 5 mins down the street. Basically I stopped by and asked if they could manufacture what I wanted.

They wernt able to so I just asked if there was another person that he knew that could help out. He recommend me to another facility about 45 mins away that I really want to work with. They do exactly what I need.

What im doing now is meeting other similar manufactures in my area to get quotes and maybe gain some leverage. Basically you just google "_______ manufactures near me" and see what you find. I prefer meeting people face to face because its just easier that way.

My suggestion to you would be to find one manufacture near you and go and meet them. If they cant do what you want, ask if they know anyone that can. Manufactures know who their competitors are. They will likely be able to help you with finding what you need.

Only domestically right now but I have plans of expanding my brand internationally.
