Here’s what we will do. A couple years down the road you and I and a few others will do a challenge. We will do some type of immersive experience like this. Today is obviously not the day for a number of reasons but I would be willing to do this in a few years max.
I'd pay to watch that

I’ll add to the challenge - you get dropped off in Canada!!!

And we’ll call it “undercover fastlane”, not to get sued by the TV people. ;)

Hopefully “you” (as a general person, not you personally) did not define your success with a single purpose. This could be tragic if the said athlete identified herself with just one thing and couldn’t see that there is a “mount Olympus” in every aspect of our lives. To be a better parent, partner, have better health, mental health and meaning, athletics, business, friend, family, kindness to strangers etc. The list is as long as life itself.

.

And on a lighter note, there is more to it than just money…

there are stocks, bonds, real estate… :)
I spent a lifetime checking off a very long list of goals. This is last year I ticked off one that has taken about 35 years of very hard work. I have been very successful in several different ways and I played with the big boys in Los Angeles until I retired. I don't need to go to school -- I have 4 college degrees including my J.D. (Juris Doctorate). I'm contributing to my community every day by helping people. I raised two families over the years. All of them are grown and gone -- and they are doing good with their own families. It comes down to that I have nothing left to prove to anyone.

Now I must define what to do with the rest of my lifetime. Success must be redefined at each level of success -- what looked good at 30 now is silly, empty pipe dream. Yes, I've traveled. There's nothing I want to buy. Right now I'm at loose ends. I ran out of items on my goals list -- they're all checked off. It's not a sad situation -- just a pause to figure out what the next chapter will look like.

Game on.

We need a film crew and everything. I want it to be YouTube gold that pays forever. Super high production value.

Already thinking of a plan. Haha.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I don't think making money is "easy" ... there is a certain learning curve and mental foundation. However, I think the abundance of opportunities, access to knowledge and resources, and available markets (via the internet) is at an all time high in HUMAN HISTORY. Yes, thousands of years.

So if you work hard and smart, have discipline and turn off the distractions, no one should have any excuse.

None!

How can you and @Kak start this now? Kinda documenting the work you’re already doing, but not just in forum progress threads?

Can you start little YouTube channels and use your phone to record nuggets as you go about your week?

I think it's neither easier nor harder, it's the same as it has always been, because the %percentile of producers/consumers in a society will always(in most cases) stay the same. As you can tell, human population is only growing, and with it consumer population and producer population as well, so.. if anything, there's only more demand and more supply. Join team producer and you'll find more competition than ever, but you'll also find more demand.. those cancel each other out.

The difference lies within the term "easy." If it was "easy" your money would be relatively unlimited. Is it? Opportunity is unlimited, but if money was "easy" to create you'd be responding from your yacht. I am not sure it has EVER been easy, and the shifting economy is adding new variables.
I think it’s all about mindset. When I had no money I always said to myself it is easy to get money. Even though I didn’t had anything to my name and anything to prove for to myself. I just knew it was easy, because people transact trillions of dollars around the world EVERY single day!

With the shift in economy is just another shift. Those who don’t adapt, and/or not creative enough to adapt will be left behind.

Ecom is booming, almost every online biz is booming. The knowledge is out there.

Love ya Andy. I am rolling in the opposite direction. I have 800 pounds of shit and I need to shed 500 pounds of it to simplify a focus. This is one of those "when I get to it" things, not on the Top 10 today list. But when we do it, YOU will do it with us. Today, I need crystalized focus. Less noise.

I have this argument all the time with people. If you have a well functioning brain and get thrown on the corner tomorrow. I think you can pull through it.

Beg on the corner for your first $5-$10.

Buy a squeegee and start knocking doors giving them your sob story and willing to clean all the windows for $5 etc. Work your way up from there.

I liked the way @Kak put it on his most recent podcast episode best:
“Why do you expect EASY?”

You know, I voted yes, but maybe I should have voted no.

It’s not easy! You know what’s easy? Vegging out in front of Netflix and video games all day, getting drunk, and coasting along.

Making real money is not easy!

If it was EASY, EVERYBODY would do it.

Be glad it is difficult, because that’s where opportunity comes from.

Embrace difficulty!

Getting in shape by going to the gym is hard, but simple.

The way I understood the OP is whether making money is “simple” but still of course its hard work. Or is it “difficult” like nuclear physics is difficult. And it’s relevant to the pandemic year. It’s a unique time in our lives. We may never again face same challenges. With that in mind I chose my answer.

Easy to me means simple and is still hard work. Like going to the gym. We live in a connected world that allows more opportunities to make money no matter your background or location! It’s probably a better time to make a decent living now than 20 years ago, especially if are reading this post! You are on a Fastlane forum that teaches the HOW and helps with the WHO!

A lot of my posts and threads are about focusing on helping people, and then helping people and getting paid.

Check out the first few links in my signature in particular, and the two podcasts.

Other thread that springs to mind are:
I’m aware that’s a lot of threads to consume. Just check out enough till you “get it”. Let me know what your takeaways are. I’ll see if I can draw it all together into a single “course”.
Thanks for the information. I have gone through them.

I am in a situation of creating content for whatsapp and wechat group. The advantage I have over facebook group or forum is that since I am the creator and admin and I call
shots. I do not have the worry of being perceived as “spam”. The negative part is that I have to do the heavy lifting of getting people (ideally people interested in a niche)into the groups, which I have developed my own methodology in the niches I am familiar with. I also skipped the necessary work that a visitor has to put in to get build relationship with others one by one (like what Andy did). Because the creator/admin usually has the natural authority and credibility developed through providing content.

The downside I am what I am doing is that when it comes to identifying problems to solve it becomes an issue since I was looking for audience for contents. I can openly ask people if they have any specific problem in this niche but the answer very often is silence. That is an issue I begin to face now with some of the groups as I run.

Andy’s approach: look for problems first, join the group, help them as a guest to earn trust and play by the rule of the place.

My approach: Gain control and gain trust first, provide useful content and get people in and then look for problem to solve.

The trade off seems to be control and scalability versus identifying a need. Once the group gets sufficiently large with quality by laws of large number there should be needs to be discovered and I can experiment at ease because I own the lab. The downside is that I might never meet a need worth solving before the group stops its growth.

Another issue (though encouraging) I face is the request for non-scalable service. I am more interested in looking at potential scalable service that I can offer.

I run a whatsapp learning group for Basic Mandarin Chinese for Business Use. I have been approached for 1-1 weekly lesson which I redirected the request to a professional tutor (a friend of mine).

I definitely agree with clarity of purpose (coming from sales background). Personally I do not like the last approach of making friends first then build business relationship. I did that offline and that experience was horrible. I do think this approach has a strong personality bias and might not be suitable for many people. I definitely hate small chats to nowhere with no expectation of business. I rather prefer “I offer this for free first” to get around the typical trust issue in sales and business.

Clarity of purpose. Yes 100 percent agree. And also I agree that people should not aim for perfection. Getting feedback from market is paramount.

100 percent agreement on inbound vs outbound effectiveness. I gave up outward sales activity a long time ago.

Personally I do not like the last approach of making friends first then build business relationship.
The people who I end up chatting with already have a keen interest in business to start with. They’ve come through to me because they’ve already come across content I’ve written that helps business owners (or budding business owners). I end up going to DM before Zoom too.

So for me, making friends works because they’re already business minded.
