Fret not, Gab's doing fine. The Daily Stormer has tested the limits of deplatforming even further, and remains on the clear web.

Far be it from me to question the wisdom of our established leaders, anointed by dumbocracy. Presumably they know what they are doing, and are certainly not engaged in aiding and abetting the enemy during wartime. DC is a no-fly zone swarming with National Guard to, uh, protect them against marauding bands of shirtless Viking raiders.

Thinking about the response to the death of Sheldon Anderson... It reminds me of David Koch from last year...

I hope the day I die, the commies cheer the same way that they did for these two guys.

Older lady: I think I need to go to church today and do some praying, you know, use the peace and serenity to allow me to collect my thoughts, otherwise this anxiety is going to get the best of me.

[Sits Down]

Older lady: WTF?

[Listens for a moment...]

Older lady: Holy shit it sounds like I'm dying, I better GTFO here.

This is according to a report in The Athletic by Daniel Kaplan, which says the 29-year-old NHL star filed for Chapter 7 in US federal bankruptcy court.

The Vancouver native has made a lot of money during his career — $52.9 million in 11 NHL seasons according to CapFriendly.com — and is due to make a lot more. Kane signed a seven-year, $49 million contract with the San Jose Sharks in 2018, and is due to begin the third year of that deal this week.

According to a 2009 Sports Illustrated article, about 60% of NBA players go broke within five years of retirement. About 78% of NFL players go bankrupt or are under financial stress within two years after retirement.

Kane isn’t the first NHL player to file for bankruptcy, with notable players such as Jack Johnson (2014) and Darren McCarty (2006) doing so during their playing careers.

Kane’s filing details liabilities of $26.8 million and assets of $10.2 million, according to The Athletic. The filing also reportedly says that Kane may not play hockey this season, due to health concerns related to the recent birth of his child. Kane has been practicing with the Sharks, who are scheduled to play their first game of the season on Thursday.

Centennial Bank sued Kane and the Sharks on Thursday, according to a report from San Jose Hockey Now’s Sheng Peng, claiming Kane owed them over $8.3 million.

Wow! Must of been ALOT of fun spending 50 million bucks. Isn't it absolutely amazing how so many athletes go broke? Lump sums of millions of dollars direct deposited into your bank account overnight only to quickly vanish after splurging on homes, exotic cars, vacations and splashing cash around, and don't forget the personal love letters from our favorite people in Canada & the United States, the tremendous hard working people over at the IRS and CRA :

I'd LOVE to have these kind of problems, unfortunately I suck at ice skating

Ya might be a sidewalker........

I've been very intrigued by Tesla lately

On one hand I'm really happy for Elon considering how much he's struggled over the years.

On the other hand, Tesla is without a doubt way over-inflated and ready for a crash. Tesla would have to sell every car for $1.5M for the current price to be justified, and there's absolutely no way.

It will take some years still, Norway is going to ban them in 2025 and I don't expect many other countries to follow them, at least not quickly. Norway is super rich and can afford it, but what about poorer countries?

Tesla is playing the long game, but can the car maker survive it?

And yet, somehow, I could see California doing it someday.

In other news, it looks like we might actually get those flying cars sci fi movies have been promising us.

Super cool, but why do all of these drone cars have to be "taxis?"

What if I want to OWN the Cadillac drone thingy?

Ok, just want to say I was published on Medium by a big publication : D

As a non-native English speaker that used to be the worst student in the class, I must say, for once, that I'm proud of myself.

The forum played a huge part in that since it taught me that to be successful, one needs to provide what others deem valuable.

So, thank you FLF!

I joined the forum thinking it'd be a dropshipping circle jerk, so it was completely random.

And now I have been here for almost a year and learned so much, so maybe I should replace the avatar.

BTW: It's a dinosaur costume, one you can buy on Aliexpress for $20 or so : P

Some interesting slowlane quiz results. Now, worth noting that the people taking an "is your job toxic?" quiz from the Ramit Sethi mailing list, is probably a particular self-selecting group - not representative - but it still depressingly represents many, many people.

The results from our "Is your job toxic?" quiz are in.
The executive summary:
  • 20% of you consider your job seriously toxic!
  • Another 40% are stuck in notably bad jobs
  • Over half consider yourself underpaid
It's worth digging deeper. The results are surprising...
1. "Do you wake up Monday morning and dread going to work?" 62% said YES.
Do you dread going to work?
This is known as the “Sunday Scaries,” or that feeling in the pit of your stomach on Sunday evening as you think about how you’re going to have to spend the rest of your week. Day in, day out, over and over again...this adds up.
2. "Are you underpaid?" 58% said YES.
Are you underpaid?
The first step is knowing you’re underpaid. This hits hard when people discover it. The next question is OK, so what do I do about it? In this economy??? Yes, you can get paid more, even in this economy. I’ll show you how, so stay tuned to these emails.
3. "Do you need more vacation?" 57% said YES.
Are you surprised? Americans love to take jobs that offer little vacation, then not even use that vacation!
4. "Have you had the same job title or salary for over 3 years?" Only 35% said YES.
Nothing wrong with staying at a job for the long term — I work with employees who’ve stayed at IWT for 5+ years — but it’s critical that you show growth in your role and responsibilities. I’ll tell you why I actively avoid job hoppers another time.
5. "Do you wish you could work remotely?" 53% said YES.
This one makes sense. After this year, a lot of us don’t want to trudge back to an office every day. Some do, though.
6. "Do you dislike your team, your boss, or the company you work for?" This one might be the most discouraging. 45% said YES.
Do you dislike your team, boss, or company?
Almost half of respondents dislike their boss, team, or company! And they have to spend 8+ hours a day with them, 5 days a week.
This is a huge red flag. If you spend all day with people you don’t like/respect, it has deep costs that accumulate over time. Get out.
7. "Have you received a raise but you’re still stressed about money?" Only 39% said YES.
This is a deeper issue than money. I talk to a lot of people who worry about money, who don’t feel they have “enough,” but when you dig in, they haven’t ever really defined what “enough” is. Hint: For most people, it’s not a number.
8. "Do you feel stuck?" 68% said YES.
Do you feel stuck?
Feeling stuck is a great sign that it’s time to make a change. However, most people who are “stuck” are not yet solution-oriented. This is why you find people in terrible relationships who love to talk about how terrible their relationship is. When you finally decide to make a change, it’s amazing how fast things can change.
9. "Do you feel like your opinion is ignored at work?" 47% said YES. Almost half of respondents.
And most important, how do all the YES and NO answers stack up?
Is your job toxic?
Is your job toxic?

Funnily enough, according to his criteria (I answered Yes two or fewer times), I actually have a dream slowlane job!

& yet... :smuggy:

Some interesting slowlane quiz results.

You forgot the final question...

... the question which he hopes will ALSO likely yield a YES ...

Would you like to buy my expensive training course for $1997?

If you answered yes to the prior 10 questions, how could you say NO to the BIG REVEAL at the BIG training course to help you solve all those YESs?

Typical marketing gimmick.

Copywriting is the number one reason I read his stuff.

I have zero intention of buying a course to tell me how to get a better job (not that I need it apparently!)

I just find it a pity how many people feel their jobs really are that bad.

Phased online courses are the future. Selling them via email and sales pages is best practice. I don't see the problem. Ramit's info has always seemed sound to me.

I know there's no real source to those stats, they could well be made up or skewed, but I personally thought the results were more positive than I expected haha.

The problem is often not the job, but the person. They're toxic, not the job in itself. But it's better to look for quizzes proving otherwise. :)

I feel like Trump is going to declare a State of Emergency, impose martial law, and have the election redone. It's not like anyone is going anywhere. I just don't see him handing over the Presidency to someone who 50% of the voters did not think won fairly, as it would ruin all future elections. I believe he also said he wouldn't turn over the government under questionable conditions. I think the Democrats know about this, and that is why they are trying to get him removed immediately. I haven't been this sure of something since I bet all my speed points that Connor McGregor would knock out Floyd Mayweather. Should be next week, if it is going to happen.
My own country Malaysia also declared Emergency till August, due to the COVID...which means no elections, no parliament sittings...but at least essential sectors like manufacturing, services and construction are allowed to work instead of a full-blown shutdown.

Normally I'd see that as a power-grab...but with all the political infighting in my country, I'm not complaining as we may have some certainty, for now.

Hope you folks can protect yourselves and your businesses decently in these times.

Unfortunately, some people might very well need the course, given how COVID threw people into a stupor.

Me thinks its r/WallstreetBets punters hard at work on Tesla calls...
I go there only to laugh at the financial memes and gasp at the loss porn.

These days they are hyping up Palantir and GameStop like Yoda on crack.

It's very sad how every political conversation devolves into name-calling.

I can say that I voted Republican, and immediately I am called racist. No questions asked. No policies discussed. I don't even agree fully with the party or totally like Trump for that matter, but this is where we are at as a country.

It's so exhausting to be treated like you're evil or stupid all the time.

There are legitimate reasons why a person would vote for either party. Most of these reasons are opinion, not fact, so it's pretty subjective. But most of those reasons also are not "failures of character" - which is what we are constantly hearing.

When will we heal?

How?

(Edit: not by making fun of the other side and seeking vengeance, that's for sure)

Think about that for a second, because to me it embodies the can do spirit of the entrepreneur, combined with a healthy dose of "who says I can't"?

The article is a quick read. Pirate Bay Founder Thinks Parler’s Inability to Stay Online Is ‘Embarrassing’ - VICE

Here's the highlight: "Over the years, Kolmisoppi and The Pirate Bay crew explored no limit of strategies to keep its servers operational and out of the reach of law enforcement and the entertainment industry, even when that meant hiding them in caves and submarines, or even using low-orbit drones to redirect users to hidden regional servers hosting torrent indexes and trackers."

Talk about creative problem solving...
