People have a tradition of Non-Thinking masquerading as intellect. They regurgitate the official narrative as if it was their own idea. Anyone who goes against the official narrative is "obviously wrong."

Other people do the thinking for most people... It is a crutch. Observing this collectivist tradition is incongruent with being a successful entrepreneur.

The official narrative always wins in the court of public opinion, and if you disagree with it, you are a "science denier."

If people want to believe the first world equivalent of Kim Jong Ill getting 18 hole-in-ones in a row, they can call me a "science denier" all they want.

Just finished the episode. Given the state of things I think this is the most important episode you've done. People are so damn quick to just take what they see on the news and accept it as fact. And to further their education they spend mindless hours on Faceplant Book and Insta Photo repeatedly getting their injections of dopamine.

It's sad that I'd rather have a conversation with my dog than most people today...

Ok so I wanted to specifically do a few episodes on surviving Thanksgiving. (Not in a covid sense...)

This is the first of those two or three to come.

Most entrepreneurs are met with jealousy and skepticism from certain relatives and acquaintances. I want to make it clear, you are not crazy for what you are doing.

I also spend some time on the economic implications of the vaccines.

I have a show for you guys, but Anchor.fm is down... SO I can't upload it!

As soon as it is back up I will post it. It was a pretty good one too.

Early in my entrepreneurial journey, I always wanted a heirloom quality desk. Where "it all began." Something that wouldn't be out of place in a $5m home one day. Something that my kids would fight over one day.

Today, I made a big commitment. I permanently affixed the microphone boom mount to my solid wood, ridiculously expensive, "forever" desk... And it feels good!

And yes, I know I have some missed calls.

How much is ridiculously expensive? Lets see some pics...

I have shared pics of it in the past. To give you an idea of the scale of it that is a 50 inch TV as my monitor.

I have listened to almost all your episodes. And I agree. This is one of your best shows. Especially because you discuss the issues on a more generic level which applies to everyone. I really wish the entire world would listen to this episode. Just like reading one of MJ's books...

This one will be quite popular IMO!

So I basically go through a bit of an exchange I had with a young guy that works at my gym. He asked my about business one day... Which could have been super lucky for him, or could have been unlucky depending on how you might look at it.

On one hand I made the case that business and trade are the foundation of our civilization, and on the other, he probably now holds "socially unacceptable" views.

I also had a great analogy about pie in there somewhere!

WASN'T EXPECTING THAT... Ep 27

So I'm all the way through the July 4th debate with David Happe. I know this has prolly already been talked about but here's my two cents. I have to admit that halfway through, I had to just turn it down for a bit cause I was having a hard time following. I did turn it back up for the last 10min or so.

Yes, both the sandwich maker and the assembly line worker are both necessary. Most employees are. At the same time, Americans work for the company and Chinese work for the country, and they both do their best to improve their own personal lives.

I think the hardest thing both of you were trying to communicate there at the end, is that with American capitalism we always have options and with Chinese socialism, they don't have any. That being said, just because an American has an option, doesn't always mean it's a good, easy, or fun one, it just means it's available. The Chinese are stuck in one spot regardless of their potential or dreams.

I sure hope (and I would guess you have) you two have made amends.
Politics, Religion, and now it seems business debates can get people worked up!!

Keep up the good work.

I just ordered probably the last microphone I will ever have!

As much as I absolutely love my Lewitt 440 Pure, and so have you guys, I am going to say goodbye to it.

The frustration happens behind the scenes when in the middle of a recording someone within 300 yards of my office starts a leaf blower... Or the garbage truck drives down my street... Or the crew is cutting the grass on the golf course. Or any plethora of noisy things that WILL register with that microphone. It is more like a Richter scale than a microphone detecting earthquakes in Japan during my show.

As much as I love the super crisp HD sound, I am going old school! Rush Limbaugh's mic baby! ElectroVoice RE20. The most popular professional dynamic broadcast microphone in the industry.

As much as that Lewitt is amazing, I don't work in a professional radio studio. This will make my life producing this show much easier.

Sounds as if the PR house needs a studio. I'm thinking insulated floors and some thick sound proof windows on a top floor. Podcast with a view sounds pretty good to me.

Amen man! Love it!

We are KIND OF, and I want to emphasize the "KIND OF" considering USVI now which have a similar tax incentive to PR, SANS the push for statehood.

Although, I just simply don't see it... PR feels like another country. It is VERY different than the rest of the USA and I wonder if it would be a Brexit in reverse... Something that faces WAY too many hurdles to become a reality? Maybe... That would be awesome. Who the hell knows?

If I had my 100m+ right now, there would be little question that I would like to live on Paradise Island in the Bahamas and just get Bahamas citizenship. A tiny jet flight over to Palm Beach which is kind of a Mecca for tax efficient New Yorkers and a lifeline to the center of the financial world.

In the interim, access to the USA as an American is something crucial to two of my businesses. That is why Puerto Rico has been SO unique in its benefits. USVI is unfortunately a much lower key lifestyle.

Maybe all of my dreams will come true and Texas will exit. Texit...

I don't want to spend the rest of my life "running" away from things I don't like and I recognize the tremendous value of being rooted in a community... So all around... Bittersweet... Amazing that these tax freedoms exist... Terrible that it makes so damn much sense to leave "The Land of The Free" in search of freedom.

If this happens I am moving back to Texas Haha. Besides the hippies I love the hill country area south of Austin. Family in deep ET and the panhandle as well. We are spread around.

We are going to St.Thomas at the end of the month for a little getaway. Will be my first time to the islands and bringing the 1 yr old!

YES! I love the Austin area. I have spent a lot of time there for business. If Texas leaves... I'd be looking at building a home in the Barton area.

Those hippies are a big paycheck away from libertarianism. LOL, WAY preferable to learned helpless political pawns of the Houston area.

Hey @Kak ... I was looking at your blog and trying to see previous episodes but the navigation doesn't seem to work for the blog? Maybe it's just me in my current browser session, or maybe it's some bug. Thought I'd raise it anyway.

I will get to the bottom of that. Just so we are clear, it is only showing the first page and when you click on the numbers it goes to the first page still?

Hey @Kak I think you might find Vin Armani's thoughts about what he's calling the 'Dim Age' rather relevant to the moving away to find freedom idea. I'm in Houston also and giving some thought to maybe moving to Saipan for a couple of years just to get out of this madness and stupidity that the general population is feeding into right now.

Wow. It's a shotgun mic? That should be great for excluding those leaf blowers!

I'm looking to upgrade soon. I listened to a podcast I was a guest on recently and the Blue Yeti Nano isn't great. It's great for voiceovers on video lessons. Hmmm... maybe it's because we were on Zoom.

Love the foam on the wall too!
