This is one of THE top rated books on my bookshelf, and I'm only 1/4 way throught the book!
You actually need to read data and write down answers (and please do so, or you'll miss out on the largest benefits of the book)

Most books discuss concepts of things... this book is more of a teaching book, that teaches you how to become a CEO, and does so in a very interesting way!

I read 50 books last year, and this one would have taught me more than 10 of those!

Looks nice, independently published, not a lot infos on the author, will have a look.
Is there any book that teach you (how) to give high value?
can you define "high value"?
what are you trying to accomplish? Higher wages? more sales? start your own business/fastlane?

Well you know, some people inherently "take" (your time, your attention, your money), some people inherently "give" (advice, good time, help). I'd like to learn how to give more value to people around me.

You've already read two of the greatest books on the market, how do you think I'm going to help you?

Value can be given in lots of ways, it depends on where you are/what you do/who you're with, but overall, you can most times give value by one of two ways: time, or knowledge.

If you are at a cemetery and they need someone to shovel the dirt into the hole, you provide value by giving your time and helping.
If you are at a food drive, and they have an unorganized system and people that need food, you provide assistance by making a layout (preferably before it starts) and helping to smooth out the process.
If you have hundreds of bodies on the floor and need to bury them, start digging a mass grave.
If you have people dying of a certain illness throughout the world, and you figure out a simple way to cure it, share it on Youtube/Instagram/Dtube.

It depends a lot on what your specific situation :) Look for pain points/things to be improved/ways to share information.

If you want to provide leadership: Amazon.com: How To Be A World Class Leader: Using Science To Become One of The Top Executives in the World eBook: Hough, Patrick: Kindle Store

If you want to provide talent: train in your specific field, search youtube videos, etc..

Reading Dane Maxwell. There is something about the way he writes. Apart from TMFL and Unscripted the only other Book that makes any impact at this point in my life is Start from Zero. Some of those stories are really inspiring especially that Guy Carl who slaved away at Tesla of all places and built a completely bootstrapped business while slaving away at Tesla. He went into expand and he is currenty hiring big time.

How this thread works... when you start reading a new book, you update it here. It’s nice to have a log of what everyone on the forum is reading and i’m sure it will spark discussions and recommendations.

I’m also creating the Fastlane Bookclub on Goodreads where you can share what you’re reading, add your favorites, and talk about books. I haven’t explored all the features, but I’m sure there’s a bunch of stuff we’ll benefit from. Join the group!

So, Currently I’m reading

Persuasive Advertising: Evidence-based Principles by J. Scott Armstrong
This book translates knowledge about persuasion into evidence-based principles. Useful knowledge about persuasion has been obtained over the last 100 years from the experience of advertising experts and from empirical studies in advertising and other fields including psychology, consumer behavior, law, mass communication, politics, and propaganda.
The principles in Persuasive Advertising provide understandable and easy-to-access guidance for all types of advertising. Including still media such as print and Internet, and motion media such as TV, streaming video, Internet, and radio. They also apply to other types of persuasive communications such as management reports, speeches, and press releases.
Wharton School Professor J. Scott Armstrong spent over 16 years on this book. In recent years, he was assisted by Gerry Lukeman, Chairman Emeritus of Ipsos-ASI and Sandeep Patnaik, Research Director at Gallup and Robinson. Altogether, more than 80 people contributed to Persuasive Advertising by obtaining relevant studies, analyzing data, editing and reviewing, and surveying researchers to ensure that the book correctly summarizes their findings.
Persuasive Advertising summarizes findings from about 3,000 empirical studies and 50 books. It also presents new findings from previously unpublished studies. .
Along with the AdPrin Audit software on AdPrin.com, Persuasive Advertising enables advertisers as well as agencies to quickly and inexpensively identify ways to improve ads – or to determine which of a set of ads will be most effective. For example, it typically requires about an hour for an experienced user to obtain a persuasiveness index for a print ad along with a list of ways to improve the ad.,
By using these principles, advertisers can improve their creativity and effectiveness.

I'ver read all of these except for the intelligent investor (I think I own it, but haven't had the time to read it yet)
48 laws: dark stuff, take it for what it's worth, don't take it as a goal
Richest man in Babylon, very good :)
Fastlane, have just skipped through for now, still on top to-read pile.

Book suggestion for someone that is looking to become a CEO (I'm reading it right now) How To Be A World Class Leader: Using Science To Become One of The Top Executives in the World: Hough, Patrick: 9781983272295: Amazon.com: Books
If you really want to get something out of the book, you need to get out your pen/pencil and write into the book, it asks you a question every page or two, and your supposed to do it..

I would even dare to say this book causes the biggest change in your life...
If the average person is on the bottom 3 steps of a 50 step ladder, then millionare fastlane is like going half way up the ladder, and this book gets you within the top 10 steps of the top. You can't get much out of this book without adapting the fastlane approach, but after you've started on the fastlane and want to go a step further, read this book!

NOTE: not affiliated, or compensated in any way, I just get that much out of the book!

How is it? Worth it?

It's a good book. I'm not done with it yet. But I like his leadership style and he tells you how he cultivated and developed it.

I like it because whoever wrote the book is a good story teller- and its a very interesting story.

He went from making meager wages to being the top of Disney. It's an amazing story.

It was $15 I think. Def worth it for me. I'm learning and being entertained.
