Great idea! There are a few concepts/pearls of wisdom I've picked up that I have to read through every day so I remember to do them. I think it comes down to the fact that our memory IS terrible and must be constantly reminded. My list grows longer with each book I read.

FOCUS
Stop crying, take responsibility
Build confidence reference points
Don't give control to other people. Do things my way
Stop unhealthy food. Avoid sugar, white flour, excess dairy, artificial sweeteners
Stop social media for social reasons
Keep everything organized. The state of your desktop is the state of your mind
Plan weeks out in advance. Say no to everything not on the plan
Be grateful for what I have
Persist no-matter what
Sacrifice everything except food, sleep, exercise and family
Avoid all distractions
Have a week off every quarter
Read everyday
Think everyday: what can I do now to reach my long term goals
Look at my accounting every day
Interact with successful people every day (Fastlane forum)
At the end of every day, plan the next day
Don't fixate on the goal. Fixate on each STEP. Look up occasionally
The only person who can EXECUTE anything is me and execution is EVERYTHING
If my feedback loop is rewarded, I won't have any confusion over what I want to do
Do what you hate until you can do what you love
Learn, work and act quick
Separate self from time
Know I'm the best, BE the best at what I do
Find money making process and scale it
Discomfort = Growth
Meditate every single morning for 15 minutes
Check war map daily
I love this.

Me personally, I don’t believe in reading everything or that discomfort is the key to growth.

I think we probably all read too much, and that we likely haven’t gone all-in on our super-powers because we think that would be too easy or because we don’t know they’re our super-powers.

Your elevator pitch is huge. Huge.

Writing or speech should look like: Need to know ↝ Nice to know

Think about when you're reading an article.

You need the headline to grab your attention. Then you need the first paragraph to pull the person in more. If you get either of those wrong, nobody cares. No one is going to read your 8 minute article without knowing the benefits of spending that precious time. Similarly no one is going to listen to anything (long) you have to say unless they know it's of interest to people.

Give a little overview first. A one/two-sentence overview of whatever idea you want to convince them of. Everything is sales. You need to sell people on why they should vote for the book you proposed in the "Fastlane book discussion" thread. And you need to sell people on why they should even read your email, especially if they're busy.

Don't start with the most technical details. Start with a basic summary outlining the benefits of what you want them to hear. Then a slightly longer summary.

It's like a pyramid where the most concise information is up top.

And this goes for anything. I had to explain a new theory to a colleague and made the mistake of writing out the technical aspects first. After two days of not getting a reply I figured out the problem. So I wrote an email "sorry, that was long... here's a condensed version," got an email right away asking the details.

Or think of it like cutting with a knife. You'll never cut with a blunt, unsharpened knife; so why think your writing should be any different. Sharpen the tip (short summary outlining the benefits,) then the next layer is a little thicker, and it gradually gets more into detail.

How to learn anything fast using the Pareto Principle.

Note: this article is about learning a language, but just realize that the same concepts apply to anything. Learn the 20% most important things you'll need to use in day-to-day operations, and learn the other stuff later if you want.

Perhaps one of the most important things I've learned in my life is how utterly simple success in every area is.

Everybody has a battle between two voices:

What's beneficial in the long term – vs – What feels good now

Almost all success depends on where you sit along this spectrum.

27574

Do you listen to the voice that says 'eat chocolate cake' and get fat later, or do you listen to the voice that says 'have some healthy sushi' and reach your goals. Do you listen to the voice that says 'play video games now' or do you listen to the voice that says 'go work on that project.'

Most of us know what we need to do to succeed, but many of us just don't do it.

The reasons for that, I wrote an entire thread on; but which voice wins is almost completely determined by neuronal dopamine levels, and their projections to the Prefrontal Cortex.
