Why I'm here? To find out why I live, what I can do with my life and stop letting down myself.
I've always been struggling with 'life'. Not knowing what I want to do, try multiple studies and jobs and since last month I'm back home without a study nor a job.

Somehow this forum is quite frustrating to me, it's making me feel uncomfortable.
People talking about marketing, sales and copywriting. It sickens me in some way, I'm not interested in it.

So I'm not sure if I'm in the right spot here but I'll figure it out.

I know I want to be a business owner and make my own living like the way I want to do it;
How: no idea.
When: hopefully as soon as possible.

Anyone on here with some tips for me straight away? :)

Then you should probably stick to a job.

I know I want to be a business owner and make my own living like the way I want to do it;

Unless you create the cure to cancer, that's probably not going to happen.

The market doesn't bend to you, you bend to the market.

I'd say welcome aboard, but it appears you've already made up your mind.

Have you read the books this forum is based on?

Not to be rude, but if you read that book and still feel this way, frankly, being a business founder is not for you.

It sickens me in some way, I'm not interested in it.

Why?

Not sure what to say to you.

Business is about adding value and getting paid.

Which part of that makes you uncomfortable?
  1. Adding value?
  2. Getting paid?

Here’s some lines that might make you think:

“Money is proof you helped your fellow man.” (MJ DeMarco)

“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest to you.” (Mother Theresa)

My own personal definition of marketing:
  1. Find out what people want.
  2. Find out how to sell it to them.
  3. Find out if you can make a profit.
  4. Do it.

My own personal definition of sales:
  • “Sales is a screening process.” (Blaise Brosnan)

Copywriting? That’s just sales in print.

Someone once told me that business is the truest form of self expression, and that your business growth will reflect your personal growth.

Do you have a growth or fixed mindset?

Thank you for your reply!
I think the 'problem' here is me. Not knowing how to find needs or give value.

I know I can learn anything I want as long it makes sense to me. In example if someone gave me an idea like right now and my thought would be 'Yes, I will enjoy that and it can work out' for sure I'll make it and do all the stuff what comes with it (marketing/sales etc.).

The main thing is, I don't know where/how I can add value or solve a need and at the same time also enjoy it because I think it will fit me and I want to put all of my energy in it.

The thing also is.. I feel way more connected to a creative life as in YouTube/Media. I've always had some kind of addiction to video making/editing and work with own video footage. This is of course also a way of entrepreneurship but in a total different way then almost everyone on here is.

Lots of people on here doing lots of different things. I'm sure there's some doing lots of YouTube videos. I'm sure there's some offering it as a service too.

You find "needs" and "ways to help people" by ... helping people.

Maybe you can find people who you can help with video editing etc?

Maybe this call might help you:

Funny how I was in your skin days ago...If you main goal is to become a business owner I wouldn't say that you could be in a better place than here.
I know where you want to arrive (I want the same, as most here) but soon you will know that this won't be a easy ride and loads of work will be required.
Interested or not, if you really want to make it, you MUST learn about marketing, sales and copywriting because almost any business will require it unless you have some unique ability or product that people would build a team around you.

Maybe I'm too focussed on the business side. Entrepreneurship rings a bell for me which connects to B2B. This isn't always the case... I think my strength is more in the personal 'area' then being a real business men, selling his business ideas.

I've no idea what you mean.

I'm B2B, others are B2C, and yet others are B2G.

It was very confusing, I agree.
When I hear the term 'entrepreneurship' I straight away think about someone selling a product and or service to a company (let's say a dealership selling cars).

I don't feel like it suits me (looking at who I am, what my strengths are etc.) to walk in a dealership and sell him/her my product or service.

I'm more of a background person, speaking through images/video and bringing a message to people.
I am not the smooth guy speaking to everyone and be in front of the audience if you know what I mean.

Maybe a good example is a YouTuber, he has an audience but doesn't go in to somewhere and tell that company 'you should check out my content' due to most of the time their content makes no sense for businesses.

Well... marketing includes writing posts on forums, Facebook, Google (adwords), Instagram, making videos on YT ect.

@Andy Black is increasing sales of other people products using AdWords.

But If you have some problems with interacting with people, maybe you should check toastmasters?

I'm sure that you can learn a lot of things and make it your strengths. I used to have problems with cold calling caused by my shyness and was always writing emails instead. Right now is the opposite and I prefer to make a call.

That's not the thing, I don't have any problem with speaking in public or getting to know new people.
To me it feels like that if I become that person, cold calling/walking in companies that's not me. It doesn't fit my personality and I won't be myself but just acting like I'm that person.

I have this weird feeling while reading your posts that you don't want to change anything in your life. It's like you found an excellent excuse to do nothing because it doesn't suit your personality.

Even if you just be acting in the beginning, later on it can become part of you. Just saying. You are changing everyday, unless you are doing your best to stay in a comfort zone all the time (for me you are doing exactly that).

But looks like you really made up your mind already.

Just 5 cents from me.

You probably just need to revise your definition of "entrepreneur." The word doesn't mean B2B. It's more like "someone who makes things happen."

There are plenty of people here using video, and probably youtube. A business I own is a school, and it has hundreds of videos we've made for the students. If you're good at making videos, or have a good eye for quality, nothing should stop you from discovering a way to make income from your videos. Your paying customers can be consumers, businesses, advertisers, moms, dog owners, or whatever. The important first step is that you find your audience, and find a way to fulfill a need or want for them.

Well, something about this forum must have drawn you in. You paid for an INSIDERS subscription. There's a ton of different forums on the internet. I'm assuming you don't randomly sign up for paid memberships to them and then ask why you're there. At least, I hope you don't.

Again, SOMETHING about what you saw here drew you in (again, unless you randomly sign up for stuff and then ask others why you did so, in which case, no one here can probably help you). Chase that SOMETHING. There is a ton to learn here. And you will learn a ton if you stick around.

P.S. - You did read the books, right?

Hello.

It seems to me you're more of an "artist/creator" than a "businessman", though you do recognize the business side or art/creation.

And it seems you want to go to business merely for the sake of making money and being free? It's the story of many of us anyway, so that's pretty normal.

Just ask yourself What do you really want?

Go to business? Stay on a job? Primarily be an artist and create something?

The choice is yours, of course. But if you want to go to business, you will have to be willing to learn what needs to be learned and do what needs to be done. Because whether we like it or not, we will undergo a PROCESS.

I used to be there before.

I want to do business and be an entrepreneur, but the process is hard! Paperworks/requirements, building it, risks, etc.

But I realize...

It's the same thing with a job, LOL.

I asked myself, "If I gave up my business dreams and accept being an employee soon (and for life), will things get any better or easier?"

Answer: Big NO.

Each has their own process. Each has their own difficulties you must face.

So it makes no sense at all to give up my entrepreneurial dreams. And about you, just ask yourself what do you really want. And work on it.

Work on it even if it meant you don't like it.
Work on it even if it meant it's hard or will be hard.
Work on it even if it meant you'll have to sacrifice a few things here and there to get what you want.

If you really want it, and just start doing it, I think you will soon enjoy the process.

Cheers!

Then you should probably stick to a job.

The market doesn't bend to you, you bend to the market.

This is one of the hardest lessons I've learned over the last few years.
