I don't knw whether this is in the right place but it doesn't seem like there is one for what I'm looking for anyway.

I am reading the Fastlane Millionaire right now and it's truelly inspiring. It is everything that I've always thought about philosophically and I agree with all the concepts and everything in the book.

Unlike everyone here though, I do not have everything figured out; I do not have even a high school degree and I currently work at a dead end job. I bought into all these bad decisions so I ended up where I am in my because of the series of bad decisions I've made to get to where I am.
I am married with children so I have less income resources than I do dependents and expenses. These are not expenses that I can cut back on however as they are family.

I am a person that is willing to do the work and is not afraid of it. In fact, I shouldn't even have a job but because of my work ethics, I have gotten to where I am and currently have a job. It's not a job that will ever get me to retire at a young age or maybe even at all for that matter and that is all the more reason why I am actively seeking for a way out. My only problem is that it's not something that is easy for me to figure out.

I guess I'm looking for guidance or advice or where I can start. I would really appreciate any help in terms of advice that anyone can offer.

Put education over degrees. I have been here for few months and I don't know if any of the legendary contributors have a high school degree. Heck, I don't even know if @MJ DeMarco has one. But I know, they know their stuff damn well and are making a living out of it.

Does it mean you earn less than what you spend? or are you referring to disposable income to invest in a business?

The beauty of all of it. You have to figure that out and you can do it only by taking action.

The North is pretty simple to find: Focus on providing value first and find ways to get paid doing so.
Execution is the filtering process.

i believe in one way or another all of us on this forum are here because of the way our minds are wired. we aren't wired to find a job and settle, we want more, we seek a better way. so you're definitely in the right direction. that's one step forward.

best of luck sir.

You're not the only one on the forum without sh*t figured out. I don't have everything figured out. Others who say they do really don't. Don't fall into the social comparison trap. Your success relative to others' success is meaningless. Your success tomorrow compared to your success today is the important comparison.

Your situation is tough, as you mentioned. I know others who are in your situation, and feel hopeless. The difference for you is that your recognize that you are capable of creating change in your life. You just need to give yourself a plan to do so. Reading MF, it should be now apparent to you that the first thing you need to do is find a problem to solve, or a problem not being solved well enough and improve on the solution. Until you do that, the rest is not relevant. Create a list of problems that you can solve, and go from there.

Thanks for the Advice, I just finished TMF and funny enough, it did answer part of my question towards the end. this is by far the best book I've ever read and I can't wait to put it into practice.

Thank you so much for your advice, I appreciate that you took the time to not only read my questions thoroughly but also took the time out of your schedule to meticulously reply to it.
I think this forum is testament to what @MJ DeMarco has created when it comes to creating a solution for a problem that people have because there are many social sites out there but none that offered me the kind of advice that I've gotten here in a matter of days.

Hi Fyniaina ,
Start by giving without any expectation. Just give, give and give and see the magic happen.
Do you have a talent ? or can you take out time to help someone like running his errands, helping any Old person fixing his house, or helping your neighbor, your wife, your parents,in-laws . Just focus on giving without expecting anything in return and I promise within 2-3 months you will see a sea change in your mindset and conditions.
I am asking you to give your time/energy/ingenuity in helping others (not money..not asking to do the charity) .
Here is the logic : Currently (and please please please don't get me wrong,I feel you are a genuine and generous person so you will take my advice/view in a positive fashion) with your post you seem to be coming from a scarcity mindset (like no degree, dead end job, having tons of responsibilities) with scarcity mindset comes fear, frustration and indecision . Now let's flip the script ..you simply go out and help people in figuring their things out . Here you become a giver . And a giver is the one who is abundant . With this abundant mindset you will find your worries, frustration and ultimately problems fading away. And I bet while giving you will figure out what can make you a fastlaner :)
Take any successful person from this forum, outside the forum ...you will find one theme in common ..which is ..they Give ,give and give. M J for example created this fantastic forum without expecting anything in return .And you know what M J is to me and many ...He is a Hero !! Inspiration . We not only visit his forum but we recommend his books, his forum to our near dear one's every now and then. Results ? M J's tribe is growing fast and in the process he is earning decent money.
All the best brother !!!

Thank you so much sir, I've always believed that I was meant to be more in life than the average, and have always somehow managed to be good at whatever it is I do, even when it's not something I would have initially wanted to do (Like my job) It may not be what I wished to do in life but while i'm doing it, I'm damn well going to be the best I can be at it and it's made working with people a lot easier.
I do however believe that there is more to life than what I currently have and I know that I can also achieve it and I will do all that is in my power to make that my reality. I am where I am not because or my past but because of my desire for a better life and I will achieve the fastlane one day or another, I just need to work hard to figure out that problem that I am meant to find a solution to.
Best of luck to us all but let's all remember that Luck occurs when probability moves from impossible to likely.

Thank you so much Bhanu, that means a lot and I do not take your point in an offensive way at all. In fact, it's amazing to me that I did not see it the way you point it out after having read the whole TMF book. Thank you so much for pointing that out for me. And I will take your advice as the advice of everyone here that I know will help me one step closer to being a fastlaner.

Spend time educating yourself. You need to start learning about what you can do to better your life. It a whole new world and a steep learning curve for you. Start making a plan as you explore each step. Change your plan as your understanding increases. Start making little changes in your life. Take it one change at a time and see what results you create. That will give the opportunity correct your course as you go, without blowing up your life.

Be careful and thoughtful as you make changes. You owe that care to your wife and your children. Although this is your quest, it will change your family's lives too. Make sure you treat them with love and respect. Approach this moment with a grateful, humble attitude. Life is a gift.
