If you are, can you give me some tips?

At this moment I’m stuck with the “wantrepreneur” title: lots of ideas, some of them seems to be profitable, but little or no action at all.

So, my first question is: how did you get started?

Was it cold calling? Cold e-mail? Friends, family and fools?

You guys who made the jump from wantrepreneur to entrepreneur, how did you get started?

Right now I’m in the slowlane working from 7 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, therefore I don’t have too much free time.

I know how to code and Android app, an iOS app, backend and frontend, but never managed to make my ideas a reality.

Could you wise entrepreneurs give some tips on how to get past this early stage?

This isn’t for everyone, but I straight up quit my 9-5 with no other job lined up. Had my business up and running within 2 months. This was a DREAM job, btw, but the slowlane was so unbearable and my rate of job ascension way too slow (decades). I always thought I would get a job at Starbucks if I was truly desperate to pay the rent. Or go back to the industry, at any time. I haven’t looked back.

I created something that people wanted and valued, not necessarily what I wanted.

Take action!

After graduation, I took up a job in an industry in which I intended to start a business so I could learn the ropes. So your first step does not necessarily need to be fastlane per se. Make a plan and take the first step. 12 months in I had started my own business and in a few years was well ahead of my peers. I had to give up weekends, left friends behind as I had to move to different city and countless other sacrifices.

In a nutshell, decide what you want to do and take a step, however small, in making that a reality. Not many successful people had much free time, they had to find a way. Good luck!

Thanks for your input, entrepreneurs.

Action is what I'm lacking, so I'll go all in for it.

As soon as I launch the first business I'll make a progress thread.

Thank you @Andy Black , that was exactly what I was looking for.

I already have some ideas, I just need to bring them to life and find the first customer.

Meanwhile I can apply your teachings and get the low-hanging fruit to escape the 9-5.

I'm glad you answered joined this thread and thank you for your time here.

Im not successful,

But I have started some stuff, I use the money from my job to hire freelancers for my ideas. Any of the things I can't do I hire freelancers to move fast. Maybe you could do the same.
