Just joined the forum. Read the book a couple of months ago. Immediately started my journey to shift from the slowlane to the fastlane. Currently searching for my first leads to really launch my business.

Read the book! definitely an eye-opener - it all makes so much sense! Why, why, why do we blindly follow and do not question the obvious (and often times stupid) things that are "well, that's just how it works, follow the herd" things?!?!! I absolutely loved how real it is w/o gimmicky "latte factor" ideas. Thank you!!!!

Hello everyone, Nahuel from Spain.

THANK U @MJ

I just finish The Millionaire Fastlane some days ago, WOW!! Its amazing. For me the amazing thing its not just the content itself (it is incredible) but that you have put together all that knowledge, truth, and wisdom in 300 pages. All clear like water, quicly? yes; easy? NO. without excuses, without talking bullshit that you sell but don't follow.

I always have some of the mindsets you explain in the book, but not all, and not coinciously and with a purpose. For example, I always save money since I was 10 years old. Nowadays I continue doing it, month by month, but since I understand the TMF path, everything have a purpose. I do it with the idea of investing it in my dream, not just saving for earnign a 2-8%. Now with the book all the ideas have been organized in my mind and I know the path I am following, and I am aware of the difficult it is, and I am
committed with it. I am giving action the value it have, day by day, not waiting tomorrow.

You are the first person I read that talk without taking care of what people thinks, even you are telling your readers things that they do and they are not allowed in the road. And that is the best of the book, the truth, the things you explain directly to your face without bullshit.

THANK U, for the books, for the knowledge, for the forum, for the slap in my face that have awaken me, and for making me councious of the difference between taking action and "waiting action".

I am reading it again, while I execute in the real world, every day, without excuse. And I think that I will Understand much more things this second round. I will post again when I finish it!

Bye

Mr. Demarco changed my life

No, I changed your thinking, you change your life!

I was a huge Dave Ramsey fan (am now debt free because of his teachings) but now you've opened my eyes to the common 401k and compound interest wealth building ideologies purported by mainstream financial gurus.

Dave preaches some worthwhile material. Nothing wrong with paying off debt.

This was also the one audiobook that I chose to spend my free Audible referral on by sending it to my brother - who at the time was unsure of whether to apply for a Master's degree or not. (Here we go, 2 referrals in one :)).

Thank you for the referrals @Maite !

Also purchase many copy’s for friends and family’s

Thank you! Gravitons!!

"People that learn through trial and error lose to other people who can learn from other's trial and error."

I perused and marked up TMF entirely. The book verified some of the insights I've had in life thus far. MJ speaks the truth- I will be referring to/re-reading the book as I use the Fastlane to earn freedom. F*ck lifestyle servitude... F*ck mindless naysayers... F*ck premature feelings of accomplishment... F*ck instant gratification... F*ck excuses... F*ck the event... My vision shall not be neglected.

As @MJ DeMarco would put it, it's time to unfold my process with concerted action.

I think the book really outlines the different paths people can take in life, the Fastlane being the one that can lead to ultimate freedom and early retirement. I was really inspired to take the Fastlane road after reading it!

TMF was a life changing book, I was about to give up on entrepreneurship and my dream when i came across it. I have always been a person that questions why society is the way it is, always thought i was messed up because i wanted to escape the rat race while everyone else was balls deep in it, TMF confirmed i was right, their was another way to go about life.

It truly has changed the direction of my life forever, I would probably be depressed working in some factory for the rest of my life it wasn't for you @MJ DeMarco
you gave me hope at one of the lowest points in my life.

a simple thank you doesn't seem like enough. I think becoming a super success and promoting the F*ck out of TMF and UNSCRIPTED is a better way to say thank you, so ill get to it!

and also for the record this book shouldn't be sold for $20, I feel like I stole from you with the amount of value you have given me

I've officially finished the audiobook of Millionaire Fastlane . I read (listened to) Unscripted first, and now that I am done with them audio-style, I feel the need to buy the hardcopies so I can annotate and underline and highlight and generally destroy them as I continue my learning on this path.

No offense @MJ DeMarco - too much value to rely on my simple mind on its own...

Thank you! Curious, you read Unscripted first, then TMF second. This was opposite of their release.

Did you find them cohesive in that order?

I found them perfectly cohesive, actually, even in the opposite order. Naturally, some of the concepts make more sense after reading them both, but I think that would have been the case regardless of the order in which they are read.

It was really just a happy accident I read them in that order - my Audible account recommended Unscripted , and as I was listening to it, you mentioned TMF, and I thought that sounded familiar, too. I must have heard an interview with you on Smart Passive Income (or some other podcast), so when Unscripted was done, I immediately went back to buy / listen to TMF. Glad I did, as it solidified some of the info from Unscripted . Timeline-wise, TMF then Unscripted makes sense, but topic and knowledge-wise, the other way worked just as well.

I know I'll be re-reading / re-listening to them regularly. So much info I'm sure I won't be able to help but pick up new concepts and ideas each time...

I have just completed Millionaire Fastlane . It was a timely find! In early January I tendered my resignation from a highly compensated fund management CEO role to begin a business that is aimed at serving a need in an underserved market.

The book was hugely comforting to support my (scary) decision to leave the Slowlane in pursuit of the Fastlane. I found the CENTS (Need, Entry, Control, Scale, and Time) particularly useful when comparing it to the framework of my business pursuit.

Unscripted is next on my reading list.

Thanks MJ.

After listening to Unscripted and having my FTE last month, I changed my daily routine. I get up at 5 AM, have coffee and read TMF, and start working half an hour later (takes about that long for the caffeine kick in). I get an hour and a half of work for me in the mornings, another hour at lunch, and then a couple of hours at home after my 11-12 hour day in the Slowlane (where I build automation BY HAND to make others more Fastlane). Weekends get at least one full day to day and a half of my time.

Deleted all video games and Reddit from my phone, and I use it basically for texting, GPS, Kindle/Audible, and Udemy. Kicked all the other time sucks to the curb.

It's not easy to spend roughly half of my life working for someone else AND spend time to start working for myself, but dammit, that's exactly what I'm doing. I will say too - I've never in my life been excited to get out of bed in the mornings. Ever. Until now. I can't wait to get back to it and actually want to go to bed at night to make it happen sooner.

I'm roughly 60% done with a prototype, and I know I need to get cracking on a landing page. It's just hard to tear myself away from a project that shows promise that I control, will add value and make people's lives easier, and has the ability to separate my income from my time.

I'm now done reading TMF and will spend that time learning to code better and write copy.

Thank you, MJ, for kicking my a$$ back into gear. Someday I'll post to this forum more, but until then, I'm getting a ton of value from reading it and finally, three years after my last failed venture, getting back to pursuing my dreams. Hopefully in a few years I'll get to write one of these success posts I see popping up in here. For now, this has taken me far too long to write, and I WANT to get back to work.

You guys rock.

The best of luck to you Change your mind! You are on a roll!

Have to agree with the tactic of cleaning up the phone and iPad. I too deleted all my social apps (Twitter, Linked In, Tumblr, Instagram, Google Hangouts, etc.) Last year and found it a tremendous boon to my productivity time. All of those platforms are available to me should I need then via browser, but then it is a conscious choice to visit them.

Last year at this point...books read = 0. I am on my 6th non-fiction book now for 2018.

Cheers,

Sean

That's the Sidewalk, not Slowlane.
My Bad M J .Yes its the Sidewalk.

Though I have not met you/talked to you .But through your books/videos/blog/posts on Fastlane Forum you have motivated me immensly.I am doing a job but side by side hustling to make my dream come true. To be honest my life trajectory has changed completely and I owe this to you .You are a hero !!!

So here are few things which I learnt from you M J (These are personal notes I write daily to myself):

What you have learned from M J Demarco

1. Never be afraid to dream big.
2. Be Honest.
3. Never fear things you dont know ,you have the ability to figure things out.
4. Your dreams, however outlandish are worth pursuing.
5. Respect process/hard work.
6. Think out of the box ,dont be bogged down by dogma.(Steve Jobs example in Unscripted )
7. Never rely on anyone else .You are the creator of your destiny. Depend on no one.
8. Give ,give ,give.
9. Accept your mistake and make adjustment
10. Follow needs not passion
11. There is a different way of doing things.
12. Don't look at step no 32 until you reach there . ('How to Accomplish Anything “Big” In Life Without Getting Swallowed.')

I’ve listened to the book several times on audible (mainly as I spend 3 hours a day commuting to my slow lane job!). I think I may have reached my “f you” point!!
