Hey was geht ab?!
It's Flo. FIRST give value: I've done a few market analysis about IoT, Collaborative Transport, Energy Distribution, ... to see where I can penedrate the market the best (You can find it somewhere down in this thread.) So I want to cut the BS and come to the most important thing:

AM I JUST SOME DUCHBAG WHO READ TMFL AND NOW THINKS HE'LL CHANGE THE WORLD?!

Yes (lol.)
But what seperates me, I have already got some nice work done instead of instantly introducing another ACTION-FAKER (past me)
So what Trackrecord of Action?

My Habits:
- get up 5am
- doing "Miracle Morning" (meditating, affirmations, vision board, exercise, setting goals for the day, reading an hour (rn it is MJ's UNSCRIPTED and 7 Habits of Highly Effective people))
- doing "Eat that frog" (doing the most uncomfortable work at the beginnig of the day)
- Deep Work (= focussed work)
- working 14h/ day
- the ONE thing (Prioritizing)
- ... more productive shit

My past, my current situation & my plan
After my business partner cheated on me in Summer 2017 I had a depression (financial and mental) for about 1,5 months then I slowly recoverd, got momentum again, had to move from Berlin (Germany) to Annaberg (Saxony, Germany) to my mother cause of money. But I've used that time to study and experiment - study blockchain, ethereum, the market, tons of books and experiment with myself - testing my limits, so I can set up a system that works longterm so I don't get burned out (again).

Now I've found a new flat in Chemnitz (Saxony, Germany) and going to move so I don't get distracted so much (by family and annoying friends) and will work half time - so I have enough time for my business to grow. I'll work at "Nordsee" (McDonald's of Germany). It will be a shitty job but who cares - it'll be worth it.

My Plan is to just be stranded in a shitty job and a 25 m2 (its 270 square foot) apartment - and working as little as possible to hustle as much as possible so I can build momentum and kick my business goal in the a$$. So my days will be like (and are already) hustle, gym, working shitty job, sleep, repeat.

My results:
- stopped compleetly to play computer games
- stopped compleetly eating fastfood (being sick is a time killer)
- read about 5 books in the last 30 days
- got advanced in crypto (bad idea - it's too much hype)
- hustling for the last 30 day 12h - 14h/ day 7 days a week
- done about 15 market analysis in potential growing markets

Dear MJ - thank you for helping me setting up this process!

About me:
- Flo
- 19
- german
- been self employed twice
- probably won't be so much in this forum since I don't whether anyone want's to read this lol.

THE IDEA: I give you updates from while to while so you can get motivation/ inspiratrion about some random dude hitting the road (me) so we can get into a awesome discussion about hustle, process and Pokémon - deal?

QUESTION: Rn I'm looking for a growing lasting market to give me a problem I can solve (finding NEED). My strategy is to first look in general to the markets (already done) to then decide which market has the most potential so I can analyse it deeply to understand it, discover unmet needs and just getting a feeling for the market as a whole.
Is it too much work just to find a problem to solve? Cause I think I need to know the market at the one hand and at the other I think problems are everywhere - just pick one and execute it the best. No need for those analysis..
I would be glad for some sound oppinions :D

I'll load the PDFs of the market analysis in the next article :)

Hi Florian,

Welcome to the forums.
I'm being curious, but what was your previous business ?
Thank's :)
My first one was a website to find YOUR best Dating coach
The second one was a Dating Company - consisting of "him" - the Pick Up Coach and me - the business man.

(I kinda was really into Pick Up that time)

Transition from being a "Theory Nerd" to become a acutally ACTION TAKER

Hey :)
Today after researching how to "most effectively" find a problem to solve I've learned two things:

1. Even though I thought I've been the biggest bad a$$ action taker - I actually was an action FAKER! Searching for a business idea is nothing but SURFING THE WEB cause you are too LAZY to F*cking decide an act on it.

2. I'll probably not become a millionaire with my third business/ first real business. Because I don't know shit, have never actually been into the REAL process, most don't do it the first time,... never the less I'll give more than my best to F*cking make it happen!

So what have I done? I've set up a dead line at 1/15/18 to decide on an problem to solve and than just stick with it.

This is so I don't do the same mistake again I did at the beginning at my Pick Up carreer - which is being a theory nerd for ONE YEAR and then reallizing you haven't accomplished shit.

See you guys :D

Hello Flo!

Sounds like 2.0 is well under way - good stuff! You're thread caught my eye, as I had a major life shift a few years ago now, & also called it 2.0! It went well, but now I'm realising the changes I need to make in my life are gonna need to be a full 3.0 reboot, not just a 2.7.11 or whatever...

Good luck (& great action!) in your quest - I shall be following along :)

Btw hear Mozart: Symphony No 40 in G minor, KV. 550: I. Molto Allegro while reading this ;)

My Why

Why am I doing this? Why do I wake up 5am eventough I could sleep in or wake up 3 hours later? Why am I cut out people of my own family so I wouldn't get distracted? Why do I sometimes cry at my desk cause it's so hard?

Why can't I just "fit in" and "make everyone happy"?

I tell you why:
I started to work on myself at the age of 13 - even earlier: When I was 8 years old I started a "radio show" with some random girl of the neighbourhood to sell my mother tickets. When I was 10 I tried to sell Pokémon Cards to some mate. When I was 13 I read my first self - developement book. It was my first "real" book I ever compleeted to read.

I had my "F*ck this moment" when I was 14. In summer vacations I reallized I had no girlfriend. I had no friends. I was bullied. I was a virgin - heck I didn't even kissed a girl until then... I got my a$$ up and became a Pick Up Artist (btw. what you have heared about PUA's is the same bullshit as your parents told you that money is evil. Don't believe - do it yourself and than see, whether those guys are idiots or actually cool!)

However I immediately started to act. I read books, I went out and approached about 5800 girls! I was so comitted that I even went out on F*cking christmas! By then I was at my mothers place and need to take the bus for one hour to get into the next city to get into the reach of girls. It took me 2 weeks of pain and hate to just approach a random stranger and ask for the time. So you have an idea how shy I was back then

After one year I was going out every day - that means I still had zero friends, was dropping school and my family started hating me. I was close to quit everything. Then I finally F*cked my first girl - two days later the second.

I traveled Europe and Germany, got to know the super stars at the scene in person and became the 40:60 business partner of the best guy in Europe! Heck he was able to talk to random girls at the street and F*ck them whithin 10 minutes! I saw it multiple times and it absolutly disrupted me.

Then I hit rock bottom, lost literally everything I had - dispite clothes - and had to start all over again. This was in September 2017. By then I got momentum and now it is time for me to attack my biggest obstacle: ME

Yeah. Me.
I'm not in it for the money, I'm not in it for the freedom. I don't need to prove somebody wrong.

Since I was 13 I committed to master myself. I mastered girls and now it's time for the endboss. I know building a multimillion dollar business will require the most effort, the biggest commitment and the hardest work I'm capable of. I need to master my health, my mind, my spirit and my emotions. Otherwise I won't succeed.

This is why: In the process of becomming a multimillionaire I will be able to master myself, eliminate bad habits and commit to 100%.

This is my personal crusade of owning myself. Becomming a multimillionaire will be my final challenge.

Thank you!

I think problem solving is a good approach to business. That was a close deadline, have you decided on something yet ?

I generally enjoy reading stuff from other guys in Germany, but I have to say that its hard for me to take you seriously because of all the PUA stuff and how many girls you F*cked how fast. You should leave all that out. It might impress some 16 year-olds, but to most serious people its off-putting.

Also, I looked at some of your market analysis and they are very superficial and, at least partly, wrong. For example the government services one. You list "saving costs" as the main goal for the government. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Just look at one of the biggest opportunities in government services over the last few years in Germany: refugee accommodation. They didn't give a shit about cost or quality. They paid way above market rate for rent, furniture, etc. They just wanted somebody to take it off their hands, do it quick and in some cases, don't be associated with the results. The people who served that need made a killing.

Your market analysis also seem to focus on finding a big world changing idea. Forget about that and just start something small to get you going. World-changer startups are so overrated. You don't need to solve a problem. Just serve a need or want better than everybody else.

I need to master my health, my mind, my spirit and my emotions. Otherwise I won't succeed.

None of these have anything to do with business success. Forget about all the motivational/self-development shit you read/watched.

Thank you for the hint. I didn't want to impress anybody - I mean this is a business forum and has nothing to do with girls - I just wanted to share my background and the fact that I'm familiar with working hard.

If it makes me look unprofessional I want to apologize for the misunderstanding.

Yes. That is correct. For each market analysis I've spent 30min to look it up and write it. The whole purpose of it was just to give myself a raw overview. Nothing more.

That is absolutly correct. And because of that I've set the deadline close so I don't waste more time on finding the "perfect" idea - btw I've decided ;) - I'll post it in the afternoon

Well I think we might misunderstand each other: This is my personal why. It also could be helping animals or traveling - those also have nothing to do with business - but serve as motivation to go along :)

Or wasn't that what you meant?

Btw. What is your background? What are you doing? :)

What I meant is that a lot of the new-age motivational and business wannabe gurus always preach being healthy, working out, morning routines, meditation, productivity hacks, etc as the way to business success. But in reality those are all just action fakes. The only thing that leads to business success is working on your business. Some of your posts sound like you're falling into that trap.

Btw. What is your background? What are you doing? :)
I run an e-commerce business.

Hey,

My last big change involved quitting a serious relationship, much of my social circle, & starting again in a new city with a new aim. This change is going to be harder in a way, because it involves most of my habits and small choices that are insidious. Just getting started!

itsatrap.jpg

So if I understood you right, you want to warn me that I might not do so much "other stuff" but should focus more on my business - cause at the end - this is what gets results.

Ok I can see that. So let's see whether it is true:
Right now I'm working 14h/ day
from those there are:
4h actual work on the business
4h reading business books
1h eating
1h having break
1h sports
1h morning routine
1h getting from A to B (listening Audio books/ podcasts)
1h some other stuff

Ok. So this is honestly my day. Taken from my schedule.
I've never seen one of successful people so I don't know whether this is good or bad.

Tell me - how does yours look like?

So I take 9h/14h a day that is active or passive for my business = 64% efficiency

What I'm going to do:
I'm going to code a chatbot to become "your best friend" as an app. The new spin on this is that he'll customize himself as you interact with it. Speaking like you do, like what you do - like a best friend.

While Google assistant has the same face for everyone - the one of my chatbot will change as you wish - making it as personal as possible.

That's the raw idea. Let's get to work

Sounds like it would require some heavy-lifting AI and machine learning to make it good. Probably not the best fit for your experience level.

Also a marketing challenge. It would need to be all expensive push marketing, because people who would use this don't have any friends to recommend you to.

If you're dead set on this idea, which I would advise against, you could probably test this very cheaply with a simple white label live chat.

Thats what I mean. How do you expect to get anywhere with 4 hours of work a day?

Depends what quality of work it is really

You can get a hell of a lot done in 4 hours of focused, no distraction work

On the other hand you'll get very little done if you're constantly checking social media, chatting etc.

4-6 hours of focused work a day is a realistic, sustainable target

I think you can get somewhere working 4 hours a day or even less. I have a day job and I don't have much time left at the end of my day, but I am able to make progress working 3 to 4 hours a day.

But as you said, my product is a health supplement, that does not require very complex code like the AI project OP has. Coming from an engineering background, I can tell this seems like a huge technical challenge, whire require tons of time and skills. The good thing is the white label chat will be very easy to set up. If there's no demand for this kind of app, maybe its better to not spend years working on it.

I started working on my business a few months ago and I find it mentally hard to not have a product to sell yet ( hopefully in a few weeks :) ). I can't imagine how it is when your product takes years to develop.

Yeah. I also reallized that. I'll accelerate that. I mean no one cares whether it'll work out for me or not so I have to take care.
I'll experiment with fokussing more on the business work and reduce reading books since it is not so important and takes energy.

Thank you for this second look on my idea. Sure every idea has some heavy lifting in the process but the next days and weeks for me will show, whether it'll be worth it.
I'm about to do the "soft proof" recommended in UNSCRIPTED so I'll know exactly where I'm going to bind myself to.

This is why I love the people aroud here: Not just telling this, telling that but valuable hints to do it better. Thank You!

"working" for me is: No phone (in general btw.), no people, no SM, no music. Just me and my worksheet or whatever I'm working at

Read (or hear) "Deep Work" from Cal Newport for background knowledge

That's right. It would be hugely frustratig if I would
1. learn to code
2. learn to code an app
3. learn to code a chatbot
4. (stilll no sells) learn to code a F*cking AI
5. find out nobody cares and I wasted a shitload of time (I think up to 1,5 years)

But yeah I don't want to just jump around from idea to idea cause at some point every idea has its difficulties.

Update:
Based on the last reply from @theag I've checket the possible outcomes from my work:

Best Case szenario:
2 years learning + prototype
2 years adjusting to the (highly changed) market
At best 50.000 downloads
Chance: <5%

Worst Case Szenario:
5 years learning + prototype
2 years adjusting to the market
<1.000 downloads because others had the same idea but better execution/ team/ Google Assistant changed to the better/ ...
Chance: 50%

Means that with a chance of 50% I would have wasted 7 years of my time to get at best 500€ in revenue... No thanks.

So what is the plan then?
After consulting @Andy Black and his posts:
Learnings from 700+ PMs with fellow forum members
GOLD - Getting started is this simple...
GOLD - The "Astonishing Secrets" Thread

I've decided to stop thinking big and start acting small: I'm going to help people I know and don't know until I find a need I can serve in scale or magnitude.
