Hello Fastlaners,
I am Adam Fortuna, a 17 years old teenager from city Łódź, in Poland.

A year ago I spent 7 hours daily in school, 8 hours playing League of Legends and the rest fapping/sleeping in front of a computer. At that time I had a hard time: my mom was sick, parents got divorced and my father was (and still is) a dick.

Half year ago I and my mom moved to her parents it was a relief to me and that's also a moment in which I decided that I want something more from my life. From that time I started my journey of wantpreneurship and self-development, I've discovered things like: reading books, entrepreneurship, toastmasters club, plant-based diet, and meditation. Earlier I would probably be like: "Why are you eating grass and sitting like this? Are you psychiatric or something?" But now I have developed many good habits and changed my attitude to others for better. I am just starting and it's hard to believe how fortunate I feel for discovering TMF and especially TFF. This forum is great! I just thought about learning to code or going to college and what's that? Ten threads about both of this topics? God! Am I in heaven?

I'm so excited for all of this, so I want to thank all people like @biophase @IceCreamKid @Andy Black and @Vigilante for creating such learning possibility for people like me.

Last and foremost I want to thank you @MJ DeMarco for your book that changed my view of the world and opened the millionaire highway for me.

Welcome my fellow citizen!

It is awesome you are so young and here. Your English is perfect. Is it a standard now over there among teenagers (I don't live in Poland anymore)?

The forum is excellent and you are in the right place. I am still thinking about you being 17.... great stuff.

Hey my fellow countryman!
I can't even tell how much a little bit of appreciation means to me, thanks man. :)

I think that, in terms of my English skills, I am at top 5% of best students at my age. There is usually one or two persons better than me in class, but I must say that I am going to pretty good school, so it's probably worse in most of the schools. Also I have tried my best writing this post. (It actually took me more than an hour to write.) I pushed my writing skills to the next level because I knew it will be hard to make a good impression on guys like you. Moreover I think that it is a great occasion to learn from this forum and master my English at the same time especially when I almost don't write anything in English -- I'm only reading and listening -- so I need to practice it more.

Besides this, I don't know where should I start from to build a good business. I am already good at communicating with other people because I have read few books on communication and I'm trying my best to apply their knowledge to the daily life. But I don't have any "real" skills like graphic designing or programming so I have a really hard time deciding what to do next, what would you do if were me? I would be grateful if you can give me some tips.

You are still way ahead with your language skills. It's also important to practice speaking, maybe there is a native English speaker in your area that could help you (and you could help him with Polish)...

As for your your lack of "skills" I would start with this - it's from @Andy Black

You don't need to be an expert

Excellent stuff!

Then you can go here

GOLD - Absolute Beginners Guide to TMF & TFLF

Don't get yourself overwhelmed. It's easy to get lost in reading instead of doing.

And you can maybe start on UpWork with your language skills - there might be something there for you - at least you understand what is there. Here is a great thread from @SinisterLex

Notable! - SinisterLex's - I Deleted My Upwork Account...

PS

I know it may sound funny but you can start with one-to-one English lessons for pupils in primary schools or even your peers... It is a start and you have a "skill".

Aww man, great post, thanks man. :)

While reading "You don't need to be an expert" post I had shivers. I have had plans to start one-to-one lessons but not until I pass C1/C2 level exams or ended college. But after reading this post I know what I have to do: I must start now.

I just have spent last 6 hours reading most of the things that you suggested and I want to share what I learned from the lectures:
  • I will be selling my old things online(smartphone, computer parts, and school books), so I can learn a bit about hustling. By the way, I am delaying selling this stuff for more than 6 months now. So, yea... I know it okay?! I know that electronics are getting cheaper fast mom! But I didn't want to take action for some reason. So this time I won't make the same mistakes and I will make a list of small measurable steps that I need to take to accomplish my goal. Besides that tomorrow I will make a "Progress Thread" about how and why I want to accomplish my goals and what are they. I want to do this so others can learn from my experiences and I talk it through with someone if someone finds time to read them.
  • The most important thing is it to ADD VALUE.
  • I am going to read all GOLD Threads on the forum.
  • I will choose books to read from recommended list on the forum.
  • If I will be in need of programming skills in the future I am going to learn a high-end language that programmers use to hire better people and to communicate well with them instead of learning to program.
  • I will learn copywriting.
  • I will learn business abbreviations because when I'm reading some posts I waste a lot of time by looking up the thermology.
  • I am going to master my English, but I don't have straight vision on how to do this yet.
  • I am following and learning from few people including @SinisterLex, you but despite it, I need to find more people which thoughts can help me in my development.

I also need to think about going to college, but I will probably go for it because my father pays me alimony until I end 26 or end education.

If I may suggest. We all lack focus. It's easy to get distracted, even here. Abundance of knowledge. Try to focus on 3-5 main tasks a day (e.g. 1. put an ad for that mobile phone, 2. find first client for English lessons, 3. talk in English for one hour on Skype). To them first. They must be leading you to your end goal (bigger one). From the top of my head. If you just do 3 things a day it will be approx. 1100 a year. It's a marathon...

Notable! - What would you tell your 25 year old self?

It were two weeks from when I posted my introduction. I must say that I learned a lot in that somewhat short time, and I'm sure that every next day of my life will be better than previous.

Unluckily there are things that I can't forgive myself, so I want to humbly sorry all fastlaner's for them.
I want to sorry for asking questions that I could have found answers to in few a minutes.
I want to sorry for tagging people only to get their attention.
Also I want to sorry for a thing that a lot of us thought at the start.
That the others, not only forum members, EVERYONE owe us something only because we are.

So from now on, I am going to sit quiet, listen, learn and talk only if I get results.

Thanks everyone, and have a great day.

If you want build real business, focus on outsourcing beside doing everything by yourself, even if you just starting out. As business owner you should focus on making sales. Sales are everything in business. If you want build web design business, you should focus on sales and organization beside programming. For programming you have an other people.

I lost a lot of time by learning skills which are easy replaceable.

Look at niche and think what you can bring to life of these peoples. Don't complicate easy stuff. Create value, and charge money. Go easiest way you can go.

Failure is normal, and it's fine. You will hear "no" a lot of times. Reality is harder than you can expect. Be ready for the sorrow and bad days. Don't dream about "Lamborghini", because it's useless. Dance with reality or reality gonna dance with you.

**There are no magic secrets.**

PS.

Be sure, you doing stuff that you like to do. It not have to be passion, but you have to like it. If you even don't like it, you will drop out. Also be sure you have a purpose. Maybe business isn't for you, maybe you should be athlete, maybe go be star on instagram.
