In Claude Code I'm learning that when the model runs into issues it can quickly go off course as it tries so hard to fix problems that it's willing to make insane compromises and design choices to accommodate the issue. This is where you have to be glued to it to understand what's the plan that we set out, what are the key features we're building, where are the key bottlenecks, what design choices are we most clear about, etc. So when you run into issues you can steer it back into doing something that makes sense.
The video app I'm building HAS to be GPU native to stay real-time performant. Can't tell you how many times it'll start doing shit that completely breaks the performance unless I spank it with design reminders, documentation to keep track of the architecture, the plan, the roadmap ahead, etc.
The people letting it rip on the agents while hands off is super impressive. I haven't been able to really walk away, I have to continuously monitor it and set it towards working on the most important problems in the most clever ways I can think of. I suspect this is where 'prompt engineering' becomes super valuable.
There's gotta be a way to have a bunch of files to configure it to work within your desired constraints. There's gotta be a gazillion ways to set them.
I'd probably be down to buy md files to like template/automate certain build structures, coding behaviors, algorithm uses, or whatever.
