That is insane. I am pretty much at 6' which is kind of tall, but not really tall. Right on that mark. Even at this height I can tell you that society is not made for people this tall (At least in North America). Doors are not always that comfortable to go through, roofs can be low, stuff hanging down can hit you. In México ceiling fans are barely above your head. I hit my head all the damn time.

I have a friend who is 6'4" and he smashes his head all the time. Other than girls going "ooooh he is so taaaallll!!!!" it really does not serve a ton of benefit other than being able to reach stuff without needing a stool.

Height is a very superficial thing. I guess it is one of those things where men are expected to be a certain height or they are just not good enough. "oh he is perfect, but he isn't tall enough so I won't date him". What a load of BS

I, on the other hand a short man standing at 5'8 (although above average for Nigeria) would definitely love a couple more inches. I already knew of this height increasing surgery long before as it's on my to do list after financial freedom although I didn't know about "length increasing" up to six 6 inches?? Can you imagine doubling its size ooooh weeee sign me up!

I'm happy right where I'm at. :)

Wanted to be taller when younger. That changed with the realization that fitting into cars and planes comfortably was important.

“Faking it till you make it” is just showing off your house of cards.
You think?

It's the only way to launch a startup that I know. You literally have nothing to show anyone at the beginning.

The only way to get buy in from other people - team members, investors, banks, vendors, anyone - is creating a vivid word picture of what the business will look like in the future. I was recording an audio for another person this morning along the lines of "We don't have a hundred locations, a fleet of trucks or two thousand employees that I can show anyone. All we have right now is the words coming out my mouth."

Kind of sounds like podcasting, right?:rofl::rofl:

That list is ridiculous. There's no way that's right. It's so bad, it's actually laughable.

Sure, my perspective is just composed of the anecdotal evidence of one person, but... have the people looking at this data and writing the article actually DRIVEN in all those places? There was something off with their survey techniques or their data analysis or something.

Guess what price a property sold for? It’s a little game, quite fun. You get multiple guesses and more info on each one. To win you need to be within 1%.

Enjoy:

Hey, I'm doing a real world version of this next week.

I'm selling an investment property FSBO using an eBay style auction. Partly for my own entertainment, partly to mock the "Realtor as All Knowing Oracle" myth, mostly because I honestly believe it's the best way to sell it for the most cash in my pocket. Aside from the auction, I'm also running a side lottery where anyone can enter a guess on the final sales price and win a $100 Amazon gift card for best guess.

I simply find it saddening that society rewards porn actors more than people who can literally save someone's life by being the only person believing in them and helping them overcome obstacles.

Don't be sad any longer. There's about four million teachers in the US.

You can always find examples, but I *seriously* doubt there are four million porn stars here making more than all those underpaid educators. And regrettably, my twelve years of complete boredom and forced servitude in parochial grade school and public high school demonstrated that 95% of those underpaid educators shouldn't be getting paid at all.

College was more like 95% of those overpaid educators shouldn't be getting paid at all.

The majority of college instructors get paid less than K-12 ones...

WOW!!! EVGA is not going to make next-gen Nvidia cards! That is a HUGE deal in the chip manufacturing world. Pretty sure that EVGA is the largest North American partner manufacturer for Nvidia. I guess Nvidia is such a bad partner that they are cutting ties. Wow, that is a big deal.

So looking further in to this, they are doing the 80/20 rule on this. I guess Nvidia is a total pain in the a$$. Their GPU department represents just about 80% of their revenue, but only about 20% of their profit. So there ya go. EVGA is literally cutting close to 80% of their business because it is a pain in the a$$.

80/20!!!!!

Wouldn't disagree. I went to one of those fancy pants colleges founded 200 years ago. ;-)

I recently got my legs x-rayed and found out my right leg is longer by 1/8” than my left. Luckily that is easily corrected when wearing shoes by a 1/8” lift. But when I’m barefoot I’m uneven.

1/8” is nowhere near necessary to correct. But a little more difference and surgery could have corrected it. I was already thinking no freaking way I’d do this when he was explaining it to me. I can’t even imagine doing as an voluntary elective procedure.

I have one leg slightly longer than the other too. I was given a little wedge to go in my shoe.

Ten years later I moved to Ireland and a chiropractor measured my legs with x-ray.

"Yep, one leg's shorter than the other, but not the leg that physio thought."

FFS...

Slight leg length discrepancies weren't that big a deal to correct even thirty years ago. It wasn't invasive surgery embedding pins into the bones. It's an expandable brace that's pinned externally into the top and bottom of the bone under tension. It gradually expands over 3 -4 months and the bone grows out to accommodate it. Basically the same as braces for your teeth. Way better than a hip or knee replacement when you're older.

It's trying to avoid lifelong chronic knee, hip and back problems from the minor imbalance.

When you see a statement like…

“We scaled to 4 million”

What does that usually mean - 4 million sales total for the lifetime of the business? 4 million a year? Profits? Revenue?

I see that type of statement all the time and never really get it. It seems to mean zero without any context.

Like blockbuster scaled till it didn’t.

Am I missing something?

I hate hearing “I made 60k in 1 day” or 1 month or whatever, and then it turns out that’s 60k total revenue from an ecom store.

I watched a video with that title the other day and by the end of the video he broke it down and he’d netted I think 3k off 60k in sales. Like bro you made 3k not 60k.

But it’s for the video views I guess so you can’t knock it.

They do the same with these news articles in Australia. “Meet the Aussies that made 100k in 6 weeks from their bedroom” and then mid article it says they sold 100k worth of crap on their shopify store. You’re like ok so they made no where near 100k. They potentially even lost money, yet here they are in the news trying to become gurus and sell courses so they can actually make some money.

My left leg has always been 1/2"" shorter than my right. No issues whatsoever.
As far as wanting to be taller....that's all Ego. I would love to interview the people that want the surgery to make them taller to see what their life is like.

This is literally my dream setup. Porsche with a bike rack haha. Saw this gem at the mountain trail head this morning. You can see my red handle bars peaking over the top of that white truck.

I got to the hill before 8am and it was 2c outside!!! It's getting cold!

I used to think the same way. Drove a 911 for a few months and no… SUV + sports is way better! 911 is an awesome car, I’ll buy it in the future but only as a summer “fun” car. People who use them as a daily driver aren’t comfortable lol.

My dream 911 is the 922 GT3 Touring. What an awesome throwback in time but new. Amazing.

The US gov should just file false charges (e.g. collaboration with foreign countries' govs, funding domestic terrorism on US soil) on the founders of Big Tech and send in the FBI to arrest them to reel them in.

I'm sure the "open markets act" will be another step towards communism and government control.

In this particular case, it's not a bad thing. Big companies buying up every small successful and hot company will just create a world where the few big ones controls everything. Monopoly in the commercial world kills innovation in the long term.

Just watched running with the devil, the John McAfee story. Doco is a bit meh and full of vice wannabes trying to look cool, but I really didn't know how batshit crazy he was. I thought a lot of it was a show, but he really was bonkers on his home made meth/bath salts concoction.

Oh the things men will do for a couple more inches (no double entendre meant) ;)

GQ1022_LegLengthing_04b.jpg

I used to be insecure about my height until a little while ago. I'm 174 cm tall (5'8" 1/2) while most of my friends are in the realm of 5'11" to 6'2". I would often check actors', athletes', or other famous people's heights online and compare them with my own to get some sort of validation or reassurance.

At one point, I realized that despite my perceived lack of height, I'm doing practically everything else better than my tall friends - girls, money, freedom, self-awareness, respect, fitness, etc.

So my height clearly wasn't stopping me from getting what I wanted. Perhaps because you could never, ever tell that I was insecure about it by the way I act in real life.

But despite all of that, I would've never considered breaking the F*ck out of my legs to lengthen them. Maybe if I was like 5'4" or 5'5" it would've been a different story, though.
