Who The Hell Would Live in Minnesota?

A few recent likes to my introductory post caused me to want to post a quick epilogue.

1. We no longer live in Minnesota, having escaped the weather and taxes for warmer and cheaper climates

2. We'll spend some time in January on a ship, a brief window in February in Arizona, and several weeks this summer in Maui

I'm not cashed out retired yet. My paper assets are high, but I have been here before. There's a huge difference between paper assets, and cash in the bank. I am still working on a final exit event (and then I will go do it all over again).

I will now go back and read the OP, and add any additional comments from my naivety of 2011.

Someone this morning told me I was "lucky" to live in Florida.

All it cost me was the cost of a one-way UHaul rental. Luck really had zero to do with it.

I used to live in a cold-a$$ economically depressed Midwestern town.

I threw all my shit in the trunk and drove to Texas and never looked back.

If you're stuck somewhere where there's no opportunity, it really just takes a tank of gas and getting to that "F*ck this" state of mind to change it all.

Getting out of the cold is one of my biggest reasons to do this.

I was in SoCal this last week and it was 60+ degrees.

Got back home and it was 5 below zero. "F*ck this" is exactly what I thought when I stepped off the plane.

Mom lives here though, and I'm a momma's boy for sure haha. Guess I'll have to make enough money to take her with me...

God bless Moms man, they're the only people in the world who can make living in freezing, painful, gloomy, and depressing weather bearable and worth it lol.

If it was a girlfriend or something I would text her a "Yo I'm moving, I'll catch you later". But with your momma it's like hey if this house is collapsing I'm either going to save you or be here with you till the end.
