I read it.
Felt more like a glossary of business terms.

Plus, I'm not sure why he used an awful amount of pages to talk down on a traditional MBA education. I don't think it was necessary. The folks who are likely to pick up the book are more likely than not to know themselves that an MBA is not everything for business.

Liked it a lot - especially the further reading recommendations in the appendix. You can find the list on his website.

Casually replying to the thread after 4 years but are there any better alternatives to the book to learn the basics of business?

Well...TMF and UNSCRIPTED upon which this very Forum is based on?:hilarious:

But honestly, read up works from people in the industry you are interested in.
That might be more relevant for the challenges you may face.

For example, I do copywriting...so I started with basics like Cashvertising, Breakthrough Advertising and the classics.
Then when I started working, I realised I needed to be familiar with different medias and styles...so I started looking to specialised authors like Ben Settle for email, Kyle Milligan for Agora-style work, etc.

There's offer creation and sales too, but I feel those things need to be learnt from doing and from mentors, rather than a single book.

From this, I realised there isn't one single perfect book.

Each book has its own strengths and weaknesses, and its just meant to take you from one end to another.
