I recently started reading Stuart Scott’s autobiography. For those who aren’t familiar he was a sportscaster for ESPN who passed away from cancer. What he was most noted for recently was that after a 2-4 chemotherapy treatment he went to the freakin gym.
How does this relate to this forum? There have been many posts about depression lately which is a very real thing. Stuart had two daughters and he told himself that he would fight cancer with everything he had so he was alive for them. He refused to give in. He cherished every moment with his family during his last years. He gave 100% in everything he did and as his cancer got stronger and he got weaker...he fought harder.
If you are alive, if you are healthy, if you have eyesight, hearing, all 4 limbs and your mind is sharp, if you have a bed and food to eat and clean water to drink then you are better off than billions of other people.
Everyday I look in the mirror and ask myself if I am giving 100% to my life. We all have limitless potential and unbelievable power within us. Ask yourself today if you are truly giving 100% effort in all areas of your life.
I’m not saying this s*it is easy because it’s not but I remind myself that everyday there are people, children, parents, fighting for their lives. If you have been given a human life then make the most of it and when things get tough...fight harder.
