When I first got into the mess of "being my own boss" it was a convoluted F*ckery of 'what the hell is going on'.
On Facebook, I constantly get ad's of "guru's" parroting their new book. Want to get rich, read this! Want to have passive income "I will tell you how to do it"!
Now my skepticism led me to, if these people really were rich, why are they parroting these ad's? I don't see Bill Gates, or any other really rich people selling me ad's on facebook giving me advice. What's the deal here?
So then my research went to google. "People who made money then wrote a book about it". Very simple, right? Eventually it came to MJ.
Now I read his book on a simple search, no ads, it all made sense. I did some more background research, and yes, he made a lot of money then later WROTE A BOOK about HOW he did it. That's what I wanted. Not all that BS of "guru's" that made money off of selling 'how to make money' when they made the money off the book of how to make money.
They've become expert's. It almost seems like every time you search "how to make money" it's some 'guru' who made money off selling 'how to make money' when they didn't make money before they wrote 'how to make money'.
I still use Facebook and my feed still comes up with these 'guru's' advertising.
Sometimes, I'll entertain the idea and listen to them, but usually it's the same old crap. They talk about themselves for the first 6 chapter's, then go on to "how to do it".
Everytime I start listening to this crap, I always think in the back of my head -- this is nothing like what MJ said. He started a business, made money off it, then later wrote a book on how he did it. He didn't have to convince me of his credentials, because I already knew it before even starting it.
So now I'm so skeptical of all these books.
