Honestly something like this will only turn into a political discussion, flame wars, "F*ck you" retorts (not necessarily from you) and the whole gambit of typical forum drama. It's no different than the Paleo discussion which also had it's heat from various proponents and detractors.

What?!?? I totally adore (put up with) other people's children (as long as they behave at all times & mind me). I would *never* leave a child unsupervised. I always place them securely in the closet with enough duct tape to ensure that they don't harm themselves. But they're never unsupervised. Do you think I'm some kind of monster?

To be fair, I HAVE met some vegans (before I knew what vegans were) a few years back when I played in a band. They were death metal dudes. They brought some food, asked em what it was, they said "oh it's vegan food."

Asked them what that meant, they told me and it was the last time I heard the word vegan for the remainder of the night. Nice guys.

My take:

I'm a firm believer in eating lots of vegetables with my 40-50 grams of protein each meal which mainly comes from fish, chicken, eggs and egg whites.

I eat all organic. Only organic.

I do believe that limiting red meat is a good practice. And I only eat organic red meat unless I'm at restaurant and don't have much of a choice.

Does red meat create problems? Ya, I believe so. But that's why it's almost exclusively organic red for me if hitting the steak etc.

Everything in moderation, with efforts to keep some things(organic everything, and veggies every meal) as rule of thumb.

Replacing red meat with organic chicken and wild fish as much as possible is a very wise move.
