Jet lag never gets easier that's for sure.. Anyway, finally getting caught up and back in the groove, will post my week here on Saturday.

Ps. Anyone that started this and hasn't followed through, that is why you are poor. Poor in money, health, and happiness. You commit with your mouth but not with yourself.

Great work to those that have stayed committed, this is your first step toward momentum, confidence, and a better life!

ohhh man you got me with that post ...
I f*cked up last week by not posting but I kept track - here are my last two weeks.

There is still way too much red in my progress tracking...

I'm kind of rethinking my "talk to pretty women" habit. Not because I'm failing at doing it just because my goal seems kind of ineffictive to me...
I will rethink the habit and keep you up to date.

I started a new job therefore there is this breakdown in working on my project last week. But I started to just work on my daily commute to work and therefore I won't miss this habit :D

The porn breakdown this weekend was stupid -.- Especially after over two weeks of preventing it. I will reread the proactive habit of 7 habits of effectivity to see what I'll be able to apply.

I'm looking forward to see your progress posts!

This week was better than it looks.

I improved my diet and my sleep schedule.
Started morning walks, hopefully to turn into workouts soon.

I think I'll finally improve my consistency in working on a business next week.

Hey you all,

This thread is exactly what I was looking for.

My goal is for every day to either finish all tasks that I planned for a day, or to work till 8 pm, among a few other things. I will also wake up at 8.30 am and go to sleep at 12 pm at the latest.

I started on Friday and so far, I managed to achieve all my goals every day. But I will wait with a more detailed report till next friday.

I also have a bet running: If one day, I don't manage to achieve all my goals, I'll pay 100 € to an organization I hate, or something like that. I originally wanted to that over websites like stikk or beeminder, but I have to postpone that for now.

No reason in my case to track metrics in detail, I either uphold all what I've planned, or I lose the bet. So far I've succeeded every day.

Fr: x
So: x
Sa: x
Mo: x
Di: x
Mi: x
Do: x
Fr: x

From now on though, I will work till 9 pm instead of 8 pm (at least) if I don't manage to fininsh all tasks that I've planned for a day.

All right. Havent posted in a while.

First a quick catchup, here is August:

27401

I was tracking:

Up by 4:15 AM
Visualization
Plan Day / Time Block
Fasting (in hours)
Stretch
Focus Time (hh:mm)
Exercise
Reading / audiobooks
Talk to one stranger

Pretty disastrous towards the end.

So I sat down to review exactly why and see what I can do. At the same time, I was re-reading atomic habits and stumbled on two threads on dopamine here. So I went back and change few things. Here is what am tracking right now:

27402

- my life circumstances changed. And I can't get up at 4am without being sleep deprived. And so I moved it up to 6:00 am.
- I am setting myself atomic habits and stacking them up / increasing them gradually.
- The habits highlighted in blue-gray are a challenge am doing now. (30 days burpees + modified 75 hard)
- the Productive Focus Time represents hours spend on achieving my goals without any distractions. This is the best proxy I have for deep work right now. (and hell, it is much more difficult than I thought)

Few things:
- time blocking is turning out more and more into a game-changer.
- Building incrementally is a double win (process over events right?): one I get the dopamine quick from progress & it is much more manageable

Edit: for anyone interested in the burpee challenge

Ok, so in the past two weeks I'm up from 0 to 2h per week. It's a start I guess.

This week I have finally got into regular fitness routine, no skipped days.

What others have considered from you as being negative or harsh I think has been more effective as tough love.
Thx for sharing processes that make you effective so others may succeed.

as you can see it's pretty bad right now ...

I just have to handle the balance between the new job and my project. Next week will be bad as well but it's on purpose because I want to focus on an opportunity which won't occur again.

See you guys - stay strong!

So I finished another week with a perfect streak, succeeding every day in upholding what I set out to do.
I worked every day until I finished all the tasks for the day or until 9.00 pm. I went to sleep at 12.00 am at the latest and got out of bed at 8.30 at the latest, including some other minor stuff.
Next week I will again do the same program, except that I'll get out of bed at 7.00 am at the latest.

I can only recommend betting on your success on sites like stikk, beeminder or just for yourself or against others. It really gives you that bit of extra determination when you're wavering. I guess if you've got very little self-discipline it can get expensive though

This thread is really helping me, although it doesn't look like it.

So far, it got me to start working out, start a quality diet, and also this week I started waking up at 5am, all of these consistently, with no days skipped.

Hey Chx, love the organization of your posts. It's easy to see your progress...
i'll try simplify my spreedsheet in the next post like yours

Well, I never know "what" and "how" I want to express my progress.

The last week had ups and downs, i had insights in both moments, but I don't know what bring more value to the thread.

I end up procrastinating my update here.

See, I don't look at my post about me, its what my experience can bring value as much I get from you guys.

My actual reading are "The Boron Letters" from Gary Halbert, in the book he says many times...
"I don't know what to say, so I will start writing something and see where it goes"

*mindblowing moment*
I'm getting a insight willing writing about insights. LOL

I was planning just post "Hey guys here's my update for the week"
*Post and leave*

But here i'm writing, getting insights and happy with what I'm doing!

This is huge tip to beat procrastination.
Just start with a small step and see where it goes...
I've read this many times, but never realize untill now.

We only fully understand things when we FEEL... Trying...
"Knowledge by description and knowledge by acquaintance" By Jason Silva

So, I have to stop writing and start getting things done!
I'm writing and editing this post for about 30min already!! #PerfectionismIsTheEnemyOfDONE

Here is my currently week progress:

27653

Yesterday(25) I got EVERYTHING checked, but with the feeling that I can get A LOT more done.
Feeling that I can level up my game a lot more!

The key is Movement!
KEEP GOING GUYS!

After clearing off most of my college projects and exams, I found that my habits are out of whack.

That has been quite the problem since the last semesters.

So I took this pseudo progress thread, tracked some important habits for Friday...

4.10pm-4.27pm

Already, I find my progress for the day is F*cked.

BAD
-Didn't complete 2 email breakdowns as I originally wanted to

-Didn't finish the DataCamp Forecasting track (only 1 class on advanced methods)

-No Fastlane/freelancing work done- but I had 4 hours' worth of replacement college classes and project meetings today anyways

-Rushed to college in the morning and forgot my supplements. Only took it in the evening.

-Dozed off around 4pm, and wasted 2 hours' worth of good time that could have been used to write another client proposal or finish the other tasks.

I thought back and realised I tend to doze off and oversleep around 4-5pm, especially if I go back to my place.

Solution: Stay the F*ck outside, in the library, to work. Less likelihood of getting caught dozing off.
Will leave sleep for bedtime.

-Zero time spent to study for upcoming exams, 5 weeks ahead.
Wanted to check out a few Quizlet flashcards to help myself memorise project management terms.

-Woke up at 8am, but wasn't ready for action till 9.10 am-ish (and almost missed Rabby's INSIDERS call).
My body was dead due to lack of sleep, what with work the night before.

GOOD
-
Elevator at university broke down. So I had to walk 6 stairs up and down multiple times....:bored:
Well, good exercise, at least.

-Followed-up with 3 folks from church cell.
One of them is still looking for a job, and still hasn't gotten a cover letter done.
I've written one a few times already, so could I help him with that?

He's considering working with the church ministry though, so I'll see his progress by week's end.
Follow up...

-Found commentaries to be surprising good sources of understanding the Holy Writ better.
Worried it would be theoretical liturgy stuff, but it wasn't. Can be easily found on Google.
Will do second reading tomorrow, before I share my learnings with my girl. :)

Looks like I have more work tomorrow. I have church around 3pm, so I don't have all day...

So what shall I say, managed everything as usual, except not quite. My sleep deterioated, and I was forced to relax a bit more for the last two days because of that. Since that's not my fault however, I didn't lose the bet.

I will perhaps look into calendar blocking or something like that soon. In any case I'm trying to track my activities better. If I manage to set that up this week, my next report might be more detailed

28 Sept 2019- Saturday

GOOD

- Got 2 email breakdowns done, as aimed for.
I might want to spend some time to break down and re-write sales letters though.

-Finished up some online quizzes on my Investment management unit in university.
They were graded, and they told me I needed some attention on CAPM models, especially when more than 1 asset comes into the picture...

-No oversleeping/dozing off

-at least made breakfast at home, instead of going out to eat something costly (and unhealthy)

-Took supplements for morning and evening. Good to not miss one time out.

BAD
-Didn't exercise in the morning as wanted...feeling too damn lazy after waking up.
Maybe it isn't the optimal time for me...evening would be better?

-No time spent on Fastlane/freelancing, but reasonable, as church and my follow-up took quite some time.

-Still didn't get to finish the Datacamp Forecasting module. Only had enough time for the day to do the daily mini-quizzes. Really need to get it done, to solidify some concepts such as ARIMA and harmonics.

-Haven't shared my Bible learnings with my girl over the WhatsApp, to complete the feedback loop.
I just sent her a link to the commentary, but I'd like to write a short list of takeaways, so that she knows I'm not half-assing the Holy Writ.

Q3 Summary

I somehow managed to delete the file where I kept this. This week I worked a few hours more on building my business. More than previous weeks.

Anyway, time for the summary.

Thanks to this thread, I got the following results:

FITNESS:
From none to Mon-Fri regularly at it. Attitude change: Instead of finding excuses, such as injuries, I found a way to work around them. I'll be at the gym even if it's not as intense as I'd like it to. Results still show. In the mirror. In the attitude.

WAKE UP TIME:
From completely random to 05:00am without clock.

DIET:
From eat whatever to eating pretty healthy and tasty food most of the time. Not ideal nor do I care. Attitude change: I now enjoy preparing my own food, and don't mind washing dishes at all. It used to be something that I don't like. Now I simply do it, and don't attach feelings to it. Too irrelevant to like or dislike.

BUSINESS:
Finally started working on my new website, new offer. Postponed this for way too long as I always had important enough work to allow myself to gracefully dance around actually growing my business. In Q4 I'll have a fixed time slot for this, Mon-Fri.

To other posters:

I'm kinda skimpy on likes, but I root for y'all. Not that I'm successful enough to give any advice, but I'm really glad I at least kept consistent in just posting my updates in this thread.

It made me start to address issues in my life, so that I can start working on my business, so that I stop looking like an idiot on this forum which feels like home, and like an extended family.

GOOD
-Managed to go to gym, after so long. I notice though I haven't done anything for strength, and only did cardio stuff. I remember that Wallstreet Playboy's Efficiency book has some guidelines on that...

-Finished up the Datacamp Forecasting module. Now I can do its daily quizzes for practice, and revision for my forecasting unit in college.

-Actually surprised I kept up a 2-day streak of Bible reading and prayer journaling.
You might be very surprised how little Christians actually keep up with the duo on a regular basis.

BAD
-Didn't do stuff for Fastlane/freelance. Some might say its fine to rest on weekends, but when you should be doing your best to break out of the SCRIPT...

I think I should reduce the amount of email/copywriting breakdowns, and hit more clients.

My re-writing of emails actually has the side advantage of giving me more portfolio samples to give to clients, and I notice that they have better readability and are even appealing than when I first started email copywriting, market tests aside. So, does the daily email breakdown exercise actually contributes to my freelance success?

I'll launch a few samples tomorrow on my Upwork profile, and see what clients say of them.

-Shouldn't have slept an extra few hours into the early afternoon.
Probably I should find Sunday local meetups to give me an 'accountability' drive to force me to get up and going, or re-zone church time to Sunday.

As you can see this week was bad. I follow a new strategy in approaching strangers. I got this idea by mark manson (highly recommended) to do it in baby steps so you get used to it over time. We'll see how this will work out. So the green numbers display asking little things like "what time is it?" etc.

I substituted my project with a preparation for a university grant. In mid of October I have an interview and until then my project has to step back.

In porn I had one of the worst weeks for a long time without a specific reason.

What can I do to improve next weeks results?
  • analyze my habits every day
  • live more balanced (fewer outrages with porn)
  • make a weekly plan

Stay strong guys and cheers to the new starters!

GOOD

-Yup, looks like reducing my workload on the email breakdown gave me a little more time for Upwork.

-Broke into a book called Discipline Entrepreneurship. Think it was recommended at a talk I went to.
A good treat, as I haven't read a new book in a while (not even our Fastlane book study lol)

BAD
-Didn't cook. The closest thing to that was having some fruit and biscuits for supper...but that's not really home-cooking.

It seems I'm still in a struggle to cook up at least 1 meal a day.

I've found a good subreddit called r/mealprepsunday, which involves prepping a whole week's worth of food, cooking batches of meals, freezing or fridging them up, and when you need them for the day, you just take it out, reheat and eat.

I was at first worried that the meals prepared by batch would be bland and not fresh, as the days in the freezer/fridge went by, but reading the Reddit comments and feedback told me otherwise.

My only problem is that my roommate doesn't like the idea of tuperwares stuffing up the fridge.
So I guess I'll have to think of another way, meal prep Sunday on the sly, or start looking for another place...which is actually another of my secondary goals.

-Exercise. Had to run errands for family, sand that cut into my intended evening schedule.

-College studying and projects not touched. Most likely I'll spend more time on that tomorrow. Got a mid-sem break to finish that load, but I have a college quiz on commercial banking after the break.

Just an FYI, the results for my last commercial banking quiz were strange.
45% of the class scored High Distinctions, 45% of the class flunked.
(I just passed the quiz...so I'm in the middle of the two...:()

I usually don't think much of grades these days, with Fastlane and all, but somehow I sensed that my university's current batch of students is at their breaking point.

I also had lots of signs like emails from my Student Reps, saying that kids complained about 'back-to-back exam day', professors actually changing assignment guidelines to fit with kids' complaints of stress and workpile, and the 'It's too hard' kind of vibe. I'd probably talk about it in another thread....but for some reasons, it irks me a little.

Probably one of my most worst days in terms of output:

- One freelance client who claimed he's having a death in the family, and wants me to wait for a bit (will also pay compensation for the delay), hasn't responded after a few weeks. I'll have to give this a loss.

I won't cancel the contract downright, but will move on.

-Much of the morning was taken up by a replacement forecasting class in college, as some idiotic students voted for the class to be done during this SEMESTER BREAK, instead of doing a few extra evening hours in the normal weekdays. Lazy F*cks.

-Had to travel 3 hours back to hometown to satisfy satiate show face concierge for my brother
do my Asian duty
visit my parents, after it's been a long time since I went back to my hometown.

-Tried to do work on the train, but the tables were so narrow, and wifi absent. I could only use my phone for some reading.

I finally understand why the rich get limousines and private jets/business class seats to travel, despite the screams of the poor and the middle class.

-In the next few days, I'd probably have to spend time with the family, so I'd expect these stats to drop for some time. I'll try to do as much as I can though. That's the best thing I can do.
