I agree with Andviv. The information is there and everyone on this forum is very helpful. Also, I think that people who would work harder to get the "success training" would not need it as much because they have taken the time/energy to acquire the knowledge and skills and learn how to apply it. This is not to say one would have learned everything but you would be in a different position. When the Student is ready, the Teacher will appear.

We have The Speedway - Private Forum and I think it is very useful.

The threads in that forum do not appear in the Latest Post section on the home page.

I'd like to request that the posts from this forum also appear in there so I don't miss them. I know that many will try to access this given that notoriety, but I think this is even better as that way, those that do not have the right speed, get motivated to work for rep so they can access it now.

I looked into this this morning ... new Speedway posts now show in the Recent Posts list. Unfortunately, if you don't meet the access levels, they won't appear in the list. So for you and I, they show. For others, it doesn't. There is no way to make it so the new posts appear, but aren't accessible. Its a function of the module add-on.

If this sounds like a stupid question, I then must apologize.

I read and re-read all the posts here and am unsure if this particular post was ever mentioned.

What if there was a certain section that was nothing more than "success training" only taught by those who have achieved "elite" status? (Only if the "elite" have the time, of course)

The "select few" who enter this "training" must meet critical, stringent requirements such as, rep speed, possibly reccomendations from other "elite" members, etc...
and MJ must have the final approval or to take the pressure off of him, have MJ and other top "elitists" (cabinet members) take it to a vote.

Explaining the full requirements to its members should not offend anybody, but make those who want to get this "success training" work harder to reach those goals!

Is this even possible?

No need to apologize for making a suggestion. What you say has merit ... however, I have to defer with what was already said above. Also, I know speaking for myself, I simply would have a hard time committing the time to such a venture.

Cheers
MJ

MJ, great, at least we won't miss these threads anymore.
Thanks.

This whole forum is "success training". Look at the incredible things people are doing here! New websites are springing up by people who months ago didn't have any ideas, people are invesing in real estate who never knew they could, people are investing in 70, 80, 100+ unit apartment buildings who have never owned so much as a 3-family or their own home. I know I'm leaving out a bunch of vehicles people have used here and are using to get into the fastlane. The training and mentorship are all around you on this forum. A good number of wealth building vehicles are represented here. Figure out where you want to go and then the right vehicle will be become clearer. The kicker is even once that happens you still have to build the vehicle for yourself...you have to put in the sweat and time..you have to work at it. I have found I have to work harder and more hours than I do at my rat race job partly do to the learning curve...but I'm looking at the exponential growth that I'll never get from my j-o-b. Maybe I see it because I have been here for several months. I have seen the things people are doing and doing things myself that I never even gave thought to prior to coming here because it seemed so far outside my reality and comfort zone.

Stick around and read, you will see what I mean :).

bigmako, I think it is very possible. However......

Isn't the forum already providing this for everybody?
The information is there already.
What prevents people to do what the successful ones have done?

What else is needed?

I think you are asking for "free one-on-one mentorship"

Like others have said here, "Mentor help needs to be earned. It is not an entitlement." (trust me, I know, I had to work hard to get to a level where a mentor wanted to even talk to me, and then, when it was time, actually deliver, and pull the trigger, and do as they say).

PS: And no, it is NOT a stupid question. I think you may want to ask yourself another question... what is missing for you? what information do you need? I am confident that, if you post your questions (i.e. ask the right questions) here, somebody will answer. The problem is, many newbies don't like the answers they get. Are you one of those? Does the world have to change to make you happy? or is it you who have to change?

If you have ever been in the military, you would realize that everything you do MUST be earned!!! Your life depends on it!
I HAVE been in the military and have never forgot those lessons taught, even today!
Therefore, a "free one-on-one mentorship" IS the farthest thing from my mind!
Mentorships are simply a gift ONLY after you have rightfully earned it!
As for the answers I receive, I welcome them with open arms! I love them all!:love1:
The only way to succeed is to take all constructive criticism (both positive and negative) and learn from it.
If you let the "negative" outweigh the positive (a simple stumbling block), you might as well work a J.O.B. the rest of your life and pray that SSN will take care of you so you don't have to greet people as they walk into WalMart!
Learning is a time-tested, simple, pure, and true process!
It's like a ladder! As you climb the rungs, one breaks off.
Do you:
A) Cry and worry about it, frozen where you're at, hoping someone will come and rescue you?
B) Climb back down and maybe someday hope that it will be fixed somehow, someway, by somebody, so that you can try again?
OR
C) Climb over it and never look back?

If you answered A or B, you are one of THOSE people who is looking for a "free one-on-one Mentorship!

As the days, weeks, months, and possibly years stroll by, you'll come to know the DOERS and not the DREAMERS!
Till then, I will continue to learn, apply, and bleed ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE!!!:idx:

Suggestions:

1) Google ads always show the same site to visit. Maybe tweak that a little so that it shows a little more random ads or something.

2) Replace Google ads (or add) with links to fastlane books, ebooks, etc. on amazon trough affiliate links.

No need to reply, just was an Idea ;)

Google dictates the ads to show; I tried to get them more relevant by adding the fluff words at the bottom-left of the home page. Frankly, I'm tired of seeing the same ads too and hopefully will add some more relevant offerings later. Thx Jorge!

Believe me MJ, I'm not the 'fan' or 'follower' kind of person, but I don't fully understand why, maybe because you made this board, maybe that you are in the tech field but I really really think you are an awesome person and someone to follow.

Respect! :icon_super:

I know we can add RSS feeds for forums, but how do I add them for threads?
I'd like to follow some threads but in the current format I know I only see the first post for those threads, nothing else.

I think if you "subscribe" to a thread, it will show up whenever it is updated...

What about setting up a chat?

I see some problems with this:
-More time consuming than a forum (maybe)
-More difficult to moderate

But it would be cool to bounce ideas and such. Maybe it could be linked to the rep speed so only the members of the speedway could gain access (thus making it easier to moderate)

Just an idea as always :smx4:

I think either I or someone else proposed this idea a while back, but it was rejected because all of those interesting and productive conversations would be lost in the chat. The idea of the forums is to be able to refer back to all of that priceless info.

However, I'd still be interested in the idea if it were to go through.

I'm not sure...definitely a possibility, though.

I know that in my ESPN Fantasy Baseball League, there is a chat feature that stays up for the entire season (and beyond?).

So, what about setting up a meebo room?

It can be password protected and supports embbeding media (video from youtube and stuff like that) it also keeps a log from previous conversations. It can also be embbeded on another site for easy access (like embbeding it in a sticky post)

Would it be possible to use a new thread as a chat? Set up, in advance, a time for the group to meet. Others can wonder in and join. The whole thing would be captured live on the forum.

I'd be interested if my schedule permits. I'm launching a forum in my members only portion of my website and we're planning to do "masterminding" on the thread exactly that way.

Another idea Jorge.

I host a monthly online workshop on eBay. I have an eBay moderator on a phone line with me during the hour that it's up. She unlocks the thread for me to post content so people have a chance to read it in advance. She has a database that she promotes the workshop to. She then unlocks the thread for an hour and I take questions live. It then locks down and is available for other people to read.

I'm not saying that the chat should be a workshop format. I think we're just looking for interaction. Just that eBay is using a forum like source for creating this.

Ok I researched (a bit) and the only thing that would need to be done in order for this to work is enable [flash] bbcode.

I've never used vbulletin as admin so I don't know if its easy or not. Here's a thread about embbeding flash in posts:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92250

The code that results from creating a room is this:

<div style="width:550px"><style>.mcrmeebo { display: block; background:url("http://widget.meebo.com/r.gif") no-repeat top right; } .mcrmeebo:hover { background:url("http://widget.meebo.com/ro.gif") no-repeat top right; } </style><objectwidth="550" height="415" ><param name="movie" value="http://widget.meebo.com/mcr.swf?id=ntHWtdfYBq"/> <embed src="http://widget.meebo.com/mcr.swf?id=ntHWtdfYBq" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="550" height="415" /></object><a href="http://www.meebo.com/rooms" class="mcrmeebo"><img alt="http://www.meebo.com/rooms" src="http://widget.meebo.com/b.gif" width="550" height="45" style="border:0px"/></a></div>

But if you just use the Flash it works ok:

http://widget.meebo.com/mcr.swf?id=ntHWtdfYBq

Diane, maybe you will be interested in this: http://www.tangler.com/

As far as this meebo rooms thing, I looks like you could easily create a room (it took me about 20secs to create a -free no admin- one) I'm going to create an account and see the features in the admin of a chat room.

It looks like it would be the same thing, for example:

Create meebo chat room (or use a previously created) password protect it
Give the audience the password to posts for X time
Change the passwords
Logs become public

I'll take a look at it. For Fast Lane, though, I don't want to move something here to another site. At least, not without MJ's blessing. He brought us here and created this environment. The chats here would help his effort (I think).

So, if it's a little klutzier to do a thread (that maybe a mod locks up afterwards), I think that would be better.

LMK if I've got this straight and if so let's ask MJ or one of the mods for their opinion.
