This will be a part introduction, part reference for me when I hit my goals and update the forum for how I got there ( or here since I am also reading this in 202X)
A little bit about me... My mother is a nurse, my father is a bus driver. They immigrated to the U.S. when I was about 5, and have been doing whatever they can to help me and my younger siblings live a fulfilled life. I am currently 20 years old.
Though I have always lived a modest middle-class life, something was missing. I was at the top of my class in high school. Always got good grades and never struggled with homework. But my classmates around me, who I formerly considered unintelligent, were talented in sports, music, arts, business, hustling, relationships etc... I felt like a failure since the only damn talent I could muster was to study for a Calc test the night before and pass it. I sat on the bench of the football team and played with the freshman since I was big but hit like a squishy ball. I feared rejection like a rat with the bubonic plague, and refused to take risks with myself or females for that reason.
Going to college was a decision my mom made for me. Everyone saw a smart guy with a bright future in engineering, but I saw a failure with no hope for fulfillment. I mean, who in the right mind would invest 5 figures into a defective product? Surely not I.
I was a zombie, dead on the inside without a real goal, hope or dream. However, something happened in the middle of my sophomore year of college. Like most wantrepreneurs, I experienced my first taste of entrepreneurship through an MLM. Well, 2 different MLMs. Let me tell you, I was sold on the dream like I was on crack. Webinars with people taking shit from nobody and working of their own dreams. Meetings with success-focused people who read more than they eat or sleep. And most importantly, attending a convention with millionaires and finding out how human and normal they are.
I have since left the MLM scene for good, not having made a single sale on anything and investing over $1000 in products and such. I feel this was a necessary investment, as my life hasn't been the same. I went from reading the occasional online article to reading Think & Grow Rich, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Psychocybernetics, and books of the sort. My role models went from random Youtubers to Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Gary Vee, Patrick Bet-David, Myles Munroe and many other successful names you can think of.
The more I learn, the less about the money it becomes. Every bit of knowledge I gain crafts a new dream in my mind of building institutions, speaking internationally, and inspiring others to break free of their mental hurdle.
As of 10/30/2018, my income is exactly $4160 from being a RA at my university. I fully intend to make no less than 25x this current amount before I graduate, and 250x this current amount before I turn 25. My plan of action for this is shaky at the moment, but I am prepared to do whatever I can to get there. Discovering this forum from a thread on Reddit may have been one of the best things I have ever done. Reading through a few Gold posts already has me hooked.
I know there is a lot I have to improve on, and unseen hurdles that I need to run headfirst into in order to achieve my goals. However, I REFUSE to live my life as an indoctrinated robot designed only to eat, sleep, and die. 90% of people around me talk about how they worry about tomorrow and take whatever life dishes to them. I think about how many people I will help in the future and leading the masses to a greater destiny. I choose to live! Success is my duty!
