Recently, I read the biography of Apple's top notch leader - Steve Jobs.
I learned how ridiculously easy job market was in silicon valley during the 70s, and how Jobs pushed himself up to the top.
But I was shocked by Jobs' personality, at least in the earlier years.
He constantly betrayed his friends, broke several business rules and, in general, only benefited from abusing the good nature of his business partners. During all of that, constantly whining when it didn't work out "his way" but quickly forgetting every commitment with others - I really wonder why such a jerk got so far in computer industries.
After the chapter where Jobs gave up his initial idea (the Apple Lisa), stole the one from another department (the Macintosh) and blamed + fired his own guys for not being sucessful, I stopped reading.
His only qualities seem to be impatience, need for power and obstinacy.
This is frustrating - why did this guy break every rule of good business and still became leader of a world top technology company? Or are these characteristics already the recipe of success?
