DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated with this platform in any way
Hey Everyone,
Wanted to post this thread to discuss potential opportunities for freelancing through the Simbi platform, as well as to share experiences and execution.
For anyone new to Simbi, it is a platform where people can trade for each other's services,
(which in August 2016 raised $1.2 Million from investors to expand. )
e.g.
Joe is a painter. Joe needs a website. Joe finds Bill, who is a Web Designer.
Joe paints Bill's house in exchange for a website.
A few highlights:
- Not only can you trade service-for-service, but also service for credit.
The credit system is Simbi's arbitrary currency that can be traded for services or rewarded for performing services.
- You can search for and exchange local services as well. Just search in the top bar and filter for
"Local Only." Now, you can see all service businesses on the platform in your area
(@Andy Black you might be interested c: )
Even though this isn't exactly your run-of-the-mill freelancing platform, I can see a massive opportunity in using it as a way to funnel contacts into paid services off the platform.
Any thoughts?
